  1. It also needs the entry ["stage"] = 9, Otherwise, you'll be stuck in mission 8.
  2. I did some testing today. It appears that the latest DCS updates solved the problem on my side (can't say it for sure yet, because I replaced mission 7 with an "empty" mission which simply gave 100 points to not have to re-fly it). However, the campaign created the "mission 8" entry in the logbook.lua after the DCS update. I'll report back if it will progress to 10 once I finished mission 9. Before the DCS update, the campaign also didn't progress from 8 to 9. @Icebear: which DCS version do you currently use? Mine is now 2.5.5.38140 (current Open Beta)
  3. I simply addded [9] = { ["mission"] = "WORLDS APART Mission 8.miz", }, -- end of [9] below the --end of [8] in the logbook.lua (located in %username%\saved games\DCS.openbeta\MissionEditor) to continue the campaign. However, as mentioned above - it is an issue.
  4. Unfortunately, I can confirm this issue. I completed mission 7 yesterday. The logbook.lua says: [8] = { ["datetime"] = "Thu Oct 24 09:41:20 2019", ["agKills"] = 0, ["aaKills"] = 0, ["stage"] = 8, ["deathsCount"] = 0, ["result"] = 100, ["mission"] = "WORLDS APART Mission 7.miz", }, -- end of [8] Which shows a 100% result. However, no new entry for "mission 8" in the lua file. When I wanted to continue the campaign, it will come up with mission 7 again. That happened before the latest update though, using DCS 2.5.5.38040
  5. Yeah, agree on that one. Not that difficult but very enjoyable. When I read the briefing, my first thought "a boring patrol mission, flying a long way", but things turned out different. A lot of stuff going on and some interesting, cool tasks. IMO the missions are getting better and better. This one was also quite good concerning the lenght of the mission. More like that please ;-)
  6. Just finished this one. Well, I don't think it was "that hard" to follow the commands, but I'm probably not such a free bird as you. The real challenge became the bad weather in the end when it was hard to follow the road. In fact, I followed the power lines because they were better visible. I flew back to Batumi because I did not really see the first, alternate LZ. The landing lights of Batumi were a much clearer target. Also, checking out the orange smoke marker was a bit of a challenge because I approached into the wind. When the co-pilot said "clear of trees" I thought I had to go down in the small clearing which was terrible. I almost touched a tree on the left side. I then noticed that the actual "spot" is maybe 50m further to the front, away of the trees. That made it easier ;-) In the end it was simply a bit exhausting because the flight was quite long. Overall, a very enjoyable mission though, but I would have prefered it split into two missions like mission 5. To me, those missions are a bit too long.
  7. What I really wonder...why can't they simply store/save the x/y/z coordinates as well for the player aircraft? In multiplayer replay, the server replay is always correct because there's no "user aircraft". It's so annoying to have to watch a replay maybe 10 times because you get a different outcome when you use e.g. F2 or ctrl-F11 view too often or if you use time comprerssion. Also, I'd really wish we'd have a clean replay replay recorder as seen in many racing sims. How can it be that a game from 1998 (Grand Prix Legends) still has the best replay recorder from any sim? IMO ED should be aware of the marketing effect of good videos. However, it's always a pain to create them and it takes an unnecessary long time to create them. As mentioned, as soon as there are a lot of units (and a lot of action from the AI), replay tend to be broken even more. I e.g. wanted to create some videos from the latest Huey campaign (Worlds Apart) but I gave up on many of them. I don't think the re-fly is that useful. If you do that in a campaign, you anyway won't get the full points and you won't progress. But even with a "real" replay - why shouldn't it be possible to anyway have the "take control" option. So yeah, ED really should put some time into the replay functionality to make sure people are creating even better videos. As mentioned above, I skipped doing some videos already because of broken replays.
  8. I had a short look at your video from this mission but I think you missed a lot because your door gunner did all the work. Actually, it was intended to land at the orange smoke marker (tight LZ) to pick up troops. Then you had to deploy them at the northern bridge and they would take out the APC ;-) After that, another landing at the orange smoke marker to pick up a 2nd troop which will be deployed south of the southern bridge (yet another tight LZ). Don't get me wrong, I don't say it was wrong what you did since you managed to finish the mission, but I think you missed some of the "real" fun and challenge by avoiding those tight LZ. So just in case you want a real challenge, I recommend to refly this mission again with the intended troop transport/landings. It was quite a cool mission btw. I enjoyed it. The only "bad" thing was the civilian traffic. You really had to make sure you land at the bridge when no car was around. Had to redo it once because a truck damanged my blades. With the other LZs, it was at least possible to slide left or right of the road to avoid the cars.
  9. I was hoping for the Mi-8 ;-) Maybe Winter 2025, haha. Anyway, nice to hear you're working on another campaign :-)
  10. So far, I think mission 5.1 is the best. Good lenght, good story, nice tasks. It was a good idea to split it into part 1 and 2 IMO.
  11. Maybe this previously posted video in another thread will help you?
  12. The video of mission 4 of the Worlds Apart is now online. To avoid double post, I simply post the link to the orginal post on the Worlds Apart forum thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4051107&postcount=26 And in case you missed the video of mission 2: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4044032&postcount=19 (Sorry, I did not create a video for mission 1 and 3...lack of good video material).
  13. Mission 4 was quite a marathon....here are the almost 5/4h cut down to a less than 5 minutes cinematic video.
  14. That's indeed the main problem. Very often, you cannot listen to everything (e.g. mission for while going down through the clouds...checking your instruments). There was a lot of speech, but no way to read it (and sometimes you don't understand everything). As for the kneeboards. Yes, it makes sense to prepare before the flight, but sometimes the task changes during the mission. This won't make it easier ;-)
  15. yes, but does this matter?
  16. Speaking of spelling corrections. There's also one small mistake in the mission description pdf of mission 4. Page 2 says WOFL 5 instead of WOLF 5 (last paragraph, 1st line)
  17. So since there still has been no DCS update this Wednesday....the mission is still broken unless you make the adjustments in the ME?
  18. Looks familiar :-) BTW, I really appreciated that you placed those trucks in front of the cargo. They were good reference points.
  19. Thanks. He was also sliding, but it takes quite some minutes until he's in the river. I gained some minutes by dropping the first cargo before Wolf 1 landed and I simply was "quick" with the for 4 cargos (around 8 minutes). If you look at 3:09, then you can see that Wolf 1 is a lot closer to the river than where he landed at 1:59. Edit: ah, you just replied at the same time ;-)
  20. Since the thread is called "Mission Videos" - here's a cinematic video of the "critically acclaimed" (just kidding) Mission 2 - The Workinghorse :smilewink:
  21. Really strange he's not landing with the setting at 950.
  22. I don't have a problem if I have to refly normally. With this 2h mission, it can become annoying though. In a way you need to hurry with the sling load but on the other hand, you still need to take your time to not damage the cargo. The 2nd part felt easier though.
  23. Sorry to hear that. I probably had to fly it 5 or 6 times because of one broken cargo (and one more because I did not reduce the bushes in the beginning). Anyway, once you finished it, it's satisfying. For the first part, I simply used time compression a lot.
  24. I had the same issue but was lucky to get help in Discord. The cargo also needs on the mountain. I'm currently working on a video for mission 2. Maybe this will help others to understand what to do.
  25. Can't confirm this problem. I set bushes/grass to 990 and it worked fine for me. No need to reduce the trees though.
