1.) Thanks, good to know I can chose the helicopter (flew they Huey enough, therefore looking forward for the Gazelle). 2.) Well, an option would be to not force the option. This way it would simply take the settings from the user. However, I can live with the visible aircraft, even though I prefer the map only. The link will lead me to "my" download files though. I was searching for user Stone Sky in the user files, but didn't find the free mission.

Thank you for the briefing. This is helpful. I still have a few questions though because I'm still undecided yet (I didn't like Memory of a Hero, but you improved a lot with Crew Campaign). 1.) can you chose between UH-1H and Gazelle for each mission or is it "some missions Huey" and "some misions Gazelle"? If so, how many missions are Huey and how many are Gazelle (which version)? 2.) I think I read that you can see your aircraft on the F10 map? Is this forced? I like to fly with "map only" to make sure I have to navigate myself.

ah, I thought it's the lua in saved games. I wasn't aware there's also on in the main folder. Thank you for clarification. Yeah, sometimes sad that they can't just add that fix, especially since they could use your work.
-
Thanks, I've seen that before, but that would have meat to replace my logbook.lua, if I understood it correctly - and there are all my stats in there. That's whyI didn't use it and went for the skip mission option instead.

Just finished the campaign. Some missions were quite difficult to me and I had to retry several times. Overall, a very good mix of different missions IMO. I skipped the one with the bridge though because if you didn't hit the bridge in the right angle, it simply didn't blow up and you ran out of ammo. I only managed once to destroy it but...wasn't able to pull up in time again and my blade hit a tree. The other times, it only took fire but the fire went out after a while. 2nd last mission is also very hard, especially because Petrovich seemed to have issues with aiming in this specific mission (?). And well, the train bug still seems in there. The end mission didn't work and I also had to use the skip button. No big deal though. Thank you for the interesting campaign.

Quick campaign request UH-1H UN campaign
rge75 replied to Hammer1-1's topic in Missions and Campaigns
I think you could simply download the Mi-24 converstion, open each mission in the ME and change the aircraft from Mi-24 to AH-64 (just in case you don't want to wait for somebody to convert it)? Well, maybe the weapons loadout should be adjusted. Aside that, it should be pretty easy - just in case you can't wait until somebody converts it. The idea is for sure good. -
They drop them, but only until the 1st boat. The 2nd remained in the dark in my case. Well, on one attempt, there was some light at the beginning of the depart. At least the boat is firing towards you, haha. That gives you the direction. Thanks for looking into it. Fuel also became critical toward the end. I had 5% left when I arrived at the target area...so if somebody needs more time tacking out the AAA, he might have real issues toward the end.

Finished the first 7 missions and some missions indeed are challenging (took me 2 or 3 attempts). I especially like the mix of the tasks. In mission 7
(at least I think it was 7...the night mission), it's hard to follow the 2nd boat though
because of the missing lighting. I ended up opening the mission and drawing a line along the way to see it on the F10 map (yeah, sort of cheating). Also in mission 6 it sometimes was hard to spot the APC. If they were moving, it was easy, but once you shot on one of them, the 2nd starts hiding. Anyway, so far a very enjoyable campaign. With "real" voice-over, that would be a payable DLC campaign to me when it comes to quality, mission design, story and enjoyment factor.

Oh, that might be. Yeah, agree, if it's only the antenna doing the problems and if it's a mod, then no need to report.
-
I don't want to report it in the bug section yet...may have to test out oder cargo first. With the 2000kg antenna, it's for sure a bad, weird behaviour (as it once was when it was bugged). So can anybody confirm similar issues? This happens with the latest beta (2.7.8.16140) on the Syria map (did not test other maps so far). Happened twice with two attempts (I recorded the 2nd one).

They move but they're not really functional iirr The mi-8 also has moving wipers.

Jemand hat zumindest die UN Huey Kampagne konvertiert, sodass man diese herunterladen und fliegen kann (in den User Files). Wenn ich mich recht erinnere, wurde auch die Ka-50 Kampagne konvertiret.

It seems like the SPU8-Radio Source Select Rotary - CCW/Left and CCW/Right don't seem to work properly (in the controls, Mi-24PSim / DCS.exe 2.7.3.8494)? I bound the same buttons like in the Mi-8 where it's working fine. However, if I use the same 3-way switch (which is button 7, nothing, button 8 on my Puma Trainer Controls), it always switches up or down all channels instead of just one. I was curious to see if it's the same with the keyboard, but the default binding (LCtrl, LAlt,E and LShift, LAlt, E) don't work at all.

They are Adobe Photoshop templates but some other programs can also open it (e.g. Corel Photopaint or, if you're looking for somethign free, Gimp).
-
Thanks for sharing your experience. That sounds quite hard Well, just in case you don't want to replay the whole mission, you could fiddle around with the logbook.lua and edit it (it needs a little bit of knowledge though). Of course I'd recommend to replay the mission though. Personally, I think sling loading is a lot easier with the Mi-8 than with the Huey, but it of course also depends on the controls. I remember when I was playing with a HOTAS instead of collective/cyclic. I had to trim a lot to get "close to a hover". It became so much easier with collective/cyclic. All curses are gone with helicopter controls

oh yeah, I'm still stuck there with the Ka-50...and I bought it several years ago So the skip mission is really appreciated for this one. I'll for sure give the campaign a try (have to finish the Hind UH campaign first though).

In a way it's sad that it's a low priority for ED because DCS lives from all the user videos. They're good advertising and it shouldn't be such a pain to create the videos due to broken tracks and missing rewind functionality.

When you start the Instant Action "Caucasus Firing Range" and you press lctrl-v, no overlay/menu for Petrovich is displayed (tried it with the ATGM slot). It does work with other missions though, so it seems mission related. I can reproduce it with a clean install (disabled all mods and did dcs_update clean and dcs_update report).

yes, I also thought "could work with the white UN skin", but the result might be better with a "real" template. I'll simply wait.
-
Thank you. I'll have to wait in that case. I thought it must be out since quite some skins popped up on the download page. However, I was told that they simply created it witout the template.
-
I'm confused about the texture template here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/texture_templates/mi-24_template/ When I look at some of the alrady created liveries, then most textures look different that in this template. Is this an old template for the "AI Hind"? Or in other words, which template did people use who already created a skin? I'd like to start on the Swiss livery

Problems with Pedals? (Slow response)
rge75 replied to Lurker's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
They didn't work for me at all until I cleared the axis for the pedals. I re-assigned and it was working fine after that. However, might not be the same issue because mine didn't respond correctly in the control setting panel. -
I must admit, I did not check out the original sound on 2.7...I don't know if it changed from 2.5 to 2.7 or not. I simply think the sound mod gives some more "feedback". You hear better when your going from transitional flight to ground effect. IMO it also simply sounds a bit more powerful. I wouldn't say it's a huge difference, but just some "fine details". Also the external fly-by sound (F3) seems "more impressive".
