No idea if the pilot did or did not. We do a lot close formation around the boat and this is a new one to us. His positioning should not have been in any turbulence zone, and we all regularly tank each mission and despite obviously hitting the vortex's there has been no issues other than the occasional engine stall in the 'A'. Certainly turbulence is engaged in mission params -

Thanks for coming back BN, no, never heard of any of the lads having this SP. By the way this was MT on standalone server. TCN on carrier, AWAC & Tanker didn't play other ATC on these did, we also tried the new voicechat feature to no avail so it all may be connected or the latter incorrectly setup. Shout if you want the miz, simple triggers no scripting. -

fixed Ka-50 Datalink ABRIS The group does not appear on ABRIS
Gizzy replied to marcoacv's topic in Bugs and Problems
CONFIRMED KA503 DATALINK broken in Multi Player on update to 2.9. Nothing can be sent not other aircraft in the same flight show in the ABRIS. In SP with 1 client and ai wingmen it seems okay..... Cannot get the DCS VOIP to work either but here I may be missing something.. -
VRK - a virtual reality enabled kneeboard with touch and ink support
Gizzy replied to AMVI_Rider's topic in DCS Modding
May be worth having a look at Openkneeboard.... works a treat, active development, Wacom / Huion take you pick... I use a One Wacom at £30 odd... works very well in my G2 or on monitor..... https://openkneeboard.com/ https://github.com/OpenKneeboard/OpenKneeboard https://discord.gg/t7Y9BNbJrh Re: 'also I’m wanting a tablet that I can use for this as well as a reading / web browsing tablet - is there a best option' I'm not sure this is possible. Tablets in this sense are pen drawing boards not android or mac computer tablets.... this stuff https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=drawing+tablet&adgrpid=65090732091&hvadid=295643743090&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=1007275&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=3455943776178953206&hvtargid=kwd-34801020&hydadcr=28149_1821047&tag=googhydr-21&ref=pd_sl_7f0vjr6dnd_e -
To me the FM is a great improvement. The SA 341/2 requires minimal cyclic input. Your stick design and spring pressure if used will effect inputs required so advice from 1 guy may not work with another. I set Y AXIS in DCS to 80% - NO CURVES. Assign TRIM HAT to trim functions. For me 3 quick nose down 'pushes' on the trim hat set just the right trim for take off. Of course you can leave at centre and adjust with cyclic but for me trim works well. Increase collective until light on the skids, keeping the nose where you want it, come to a 5' hover and you are ready to go.

DCS SERVERS BROKEN AGAIN 1648Z 9th JUNE 2023 !!!!!!!!!!!!
Gizzy replied to Gizzy's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
No idea why this was moved. Nothing at all to with Multiplayer Bug.... it is DCS LOGIN DRM / UPDATE server that is the issue In case anyone is interested....... It seems DRM login is now working, for the present. -
After yesterdays issues which I reported after a long wait ED finally got things back working today...... THEN made the silly mistake of purchasing the SINAI Map an hour or so ago. Download failed. Server again says error and more annoyingly disabled all owned modules again.... It is hard to remain positive about this....
-
No, mate. DRM server authorisation is not working so all paid for stuff is disabled.
-
For info 17:30 Servers down and being a new update there is no saved password for this build hence all modules are disabled...... No doubt, it will sorted soon.
-
Surplus hence for sale and going to Ebay soon, so if interested PM me - not for open forum bartering. [1] Virpil WarBRD BASE- if purchased, 'luck penny' of 2 free extensions (3cm & 7.5cm giving 3 lengths) included but extension leads required (ebay) If no grip, then I have a Virpil T50 (First grip Virpil made) which I keep as a spare but can sell this too at a reasonable price if desired. [2] ButtKicker Gamer2 (little used... being in Flats (concrete Floor) some neighbours got cranky at the levels I liked... UK, NI based, of course send it back within a reasonable time frame at your cost for refund if not happy....

correct as is HARM PB MODE NOT EFFECTIVE AT DISTANCE...
Gizzy replied to Gizzy's topic in Bugs and Problems
@BIGNEWY Trackfile attached. SAM11 unit, 1x C2 - 1x Snow Drift SR & 3x Firedome launchers. Approaching at 20k, once RWR shows SR active, HARM launched PB around 30 miles out, clearly steering towards Launcher but missed by several hundred yards. Came around fired a second from about 22nm which steered for and hit a separate launcher. Came around and fired TOO mode from 20nm which steered for and destroyed the SR. The 2 remaining launchers continued to actively target well beyond 20nm. No idea if this is correct programmed behavior or not but on further testing it seems sometime all components need to be destroyed and at other times just one launcher makes makes the SAM11 group nulled. PB mode certainly does not bring much to the party for the SAM11 which if intended is a bit of a surprise but not a big deal.... BigNewey.trk -
correct as is HARM PB MODE NOT EFFECTIVE AT DISTANCE...
Gizzy replied to Gizzy's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks Solo... It used to be child's play launching Harms at great distance for SAM11 in PB.... now your descriptor seems R/L logic is now in play.... which is all good. I'll dust off the TALDS and get a few mates and see how she goes with this knowledge before bothering ED... (tnx BN) -
AFter a failed mission using HARMS PB mode at 45nm > SAM11 I put a simple SAM11 3 object on a map and approached at 30k. HARM PB mode aircraft pull up consistently inaccurate i.e. useless if fired beyond around 22nm. HUD will indicate in range at 50 60nm but no chance.... at 20nm it will hit OK but of course the SAM11 has one back at you... TOO mode is accurate and safer getting a hand off around 25nm. Is this being currently being looked at ??? (before the hassle of making tracks / video for ED)

investigating Catapult Crew Wont hook You Up
Gizzy replied to HeavyGun1450's topic in Bugs and Problems
Our group uses the SC all the time in MP with F14 & 18 and no ai launches. For whatever reason it seems to always be randomly bugged. F14 / F18 issues are always present despite many fixes and well documented in various threads here but often other random bugs appear. A recent mission was a classic example, 2 hour gameplay, no scripting, no furniture on deck, a respawn 1 hr into mission and the ai refused to launch from CAT1 an F18 indicating wings were up although they were down.... stalemate... respawn and start up again... 10 mins later another F18 no matter how many requests to launch, all CAT ai refused to play, pilot gave up! 2hr point case 3 recovery 5 aircraft, the last took 4 inbound transmissions to get a response and then after correct procedure no carrier runway lights at all despite calls from the LSO. I stress that these are random. IMO certainly the most frustrating module in DCS albeit one we cant do without! -

TRAINING PROGRESSION Competency based syllabuses for the F18 & F14 have self driven pathways with plenty of mentors. All pilots joining CAW spend some time in 727, even experienced pilots (albeit that time may well be very short and is mainly a clarification of carrier recovery skills) The T45, a dual seat carrier capable trainer is used for basic flying skills training and in the intro phases of low level tactical initial BFM. CARRIERS & MAPS USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) USS SAIPAN (LH2) and USS Forrester are used so the SC module is required. Syria and Persian Gulf are used as well as DCS Caucasus and Marianas but not a requirement, if not held then some missions will simply not be available. All training is on default maps. MISSIONS Mission nights are normally Tuesday when we fly will all the other Squadrons of RAFAir and Thursday which is a mixture of training and CAW missions. Pilots are often active on most evenings, sometime, somewhere Timings are around 19:30(UK) to 21:30 RAFAir have 4 24/7 servers available to all. Upgrading from Oculus to HP Reverb = Absolute Trainwreck
Gizzy replied to killerquagmire's topic in Virtual Reality
OpenXR & OpenXR toolkit basically on default other than I've increased sharpening from 20% to 40% - thats it. The toolkit uses open.composite. I know initially whatever way I installed it it ran on top of SteamVR even though OpenXR runtime was specified in developers SteamVR. This did not get a good result. I did not RTFM - the part about running a repair via SkateZilla utility and tick the box to check when repaired to check everything for not required files and delete them. Now it works as it should. My DCS config is above, CPU is bottlenecked just above 20 GPU is not maxed. Fans are quite. As a comparison for you the miz file below, a ramp hot start AH64 in syria helo base gives me 50+FPS depending where I look. System info also attached...the CPU is OC 5.1 hope that helps delete.miz -

Something amiss... Everyone's system are different, as is their acceptance level of FPS / sharpness etc... and set DCS config. And of course it changes per terrain, per Aircraft and miz - MP / SP etc... As an example with my G2 2080ti, 10900K OC, 64 memory and steam runtimes on MP I was getting reasonable FPS 25-40 with some side stutter and the occasional big dip if on say Ah64 and Syria... Now with a 3090 the GPU fans are always quite, the CPU is around 20% and rarely is the GPU maxed. With the setting below (note I use MSAA) and OpenXR runtimes most AC & Maps on MP are 50-60FPS + and no side stutter and all is crystal clear on MP. So you should be able to get somewhere in this ballpark... There is a mass of threads here on the subject... happy reading
