Hi all, VAICOM asked me to update this morning for new features, so I did. I also completed the "Finish" steps as requested. However, the console is now filled with a constant stream of: 9:16:31.433 there was a problem sending state update request:'VoiceAttack.VoiceAttackInvokeProxyClass' does not contain a definition for 'Dictation'Microsoft.CSharp.RuntimeBinder.RuntimeBinderException: 'VoiceAttack.VoiceAttackInvokeProxyClass' does not contain a d... The error message is very long, and there's a new one every few seconds. If I try to use VAICOM, it throws a different error: 9:21:46.563 UNABLE TO INVOKE PLUGIN, 'VAICOM PRO 2.5'. DUE TO EXCEPTION: 'VoiceAttack.VoiceAttackInvokeProxyClass' does not contain a definition for 'Dictation' I am running VA as admin, and I have tried resetting Keywords from the Reset tab in case something had gotten messed up. Neither of these things has worked. Any suggestions?

VAICOM has been updated to work pretty well with Supercarrier. You can do all of the required comms for proper landing procedure, and you can order the deck crew around for launch. I highly recommend it, not only for the added immersion, but freeing up your hands from having to navigate the comms menu in flight is really helpful.

This just happened to me on the latest OB. I was in the Mav F training mission on Caucasus. I fired all four Mavs at the targets, then I tried to do some A2G gun passes on the remaining targets. I noticed all my bullets were hitting well high, even though the pipper was dead on and I had an "in range" cue. I thought this was weird so I quit and did some googling. After finding this thread I was going to go back and record a track, but it appears to be working just fine now... I will keep trying to figure out the conditions that made this happen.

You're not the only one! I've been doing some test launches on the PG map. Usable video from the DL pod at <35nm. Still a signal out to about 60nm (can see the crosshairs, barely), but its so fuzzy/snowy that its unusable. I've gotten the issue both with the missiles/target in my forward quarter and in my aft quarter with A ANT selected. Not sure if this is an issue in procedure, an issue in ED implementation, or just how SLAMs work. Edit: I should clarify that I tried this at ~15kft and about 30kft, same result.

This is possibly a "Just dont worry about it" issue: VAICOM generally works fine for me (normal stuff, AIRIO, and carrier ATC), but when I hit "test" in the editor panel, it shows a bunch of missing aliases followed by "377 missing aliases in VA profile VAICOM PRO for DCS World." I've tried repeating the FINISH steps again to see if that would help, but it doesn't change anything. Have I messed something up, or should I just not worry about it as long as everything seems to be functioning?

I am also having this issue on a Valve Index. Have not tried this yet.

I have an index. I'm still working on upgrading my cpu to better run dcs in VR, but even on my ancient vishera processor at 20 fps, it's pretty amazing. I can read dials and ddis in the hornet no problem. Xplane 11 is also excellent in terms of visibility and immersion. I don't have anything else to compare to aside from trackir, which VR obviously beats the snot out of in coolness.

Its an old thread, but I have the same issue. Link: https://imgur.com/a/EOJdMUH

Tried 3 training missions and none are working :-(
kingfish replied to Jamesp1's topic in Missions and Campaigns
I've had a few similar issues with the triggers for the missions. As a temporary workaround, I've found that pressing and holding the prompted button for an extra second rather than just clicking works much better at getting detected. -
This is very interesting. Do you know what year/block/etc that your manual is for? It may be that this feature was only added to later models, or to Polish exports, or something like that. If its supposedly on all of the bis models, then this would be a great feature to have.

Looks great! Would it be possible to get a version of this that uses primarily feet/nautical miles/knots/lbm/lbf as they are the units in the F-86 instruments?

TM Warthog extension, Gardena Hose connector issue
kingfish replied to kingfish's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah, it looks super dirty cause I've been filing and sanding it. However, even when it was brand new and super clean I had the same issue. Yeah, I cut out that whole middle structure because the connector cable didn't fit, and removing the plastic seemed easier than trimming down the connector cable to fit. After some fiddling I believe I can get away with fitting a spacer down into the threads so that the plastic insert bottoms out and presses the insert onto the stick base and holds everything in place. -
TM Warthog extension, Gardena Hose connector issue
kingfish replied to kingfish's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm not sure what you mean by "depressions in the inner ring" exactly. Can you clarify? Also, here's what I got. Its gotten pretty banged up, but it still threads into the other parts of the hose connector just fine. The threads on the right are filed down, as the major diameter was ~20-25 thou more than the connector on the WH base. However, it still does not fit, as it appears the minor diameter of the threads is too large as well, and that's a lot harder to fix. -
TM Warthog extension, Gardena Hose connector issue
kingfish replied to kingfish's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have already removed the center plug, as my connector cable was too big to fit. The issue is not something prevent the threads from reaching each other, but that the threads are different sizes and don't quite go together unless I literally wrench it down. -
Hey all, I'm making my own warthog extension. Per the suggestion of you fine folks on this forum and those over at /r/hoggit, I bought a gardena hose connector. However, while the female part of the hose connector fits onto the base of the stick just fine, the inner plastic male part only threads into the Warthog stick about 3/4 of a turn before becoming too tight to turn any further. however, this is not far enough in to make a secure connection, so the stick itself can wobble because there is nothing keeping the nut rigid with the stick. Upon measuring the threads, it appears the gardena hose connector is ~20 thou bigger, which explains why it doesn't thread. Nobody else seems to be having any issues though. Whats the solution? edit: This is the connector

Its funny that you mention that, I have had the same experience. I tried and tried and tried months ago and gave up on it cause I just couldn't get it together. Got inspired to try again today and I basically don't have to do anything and it works just fine. The takeoff roll seems a lot longer though. I used to do ~1.0-1.1 ata and that would get me going pretty quick, but now its really sluggish unless I redline the engine.

Hi all, I'm trying to get the Kh-25ML to work properly, and I cannot figure it out. I have followed all of the guides and I'm doing everything to the letter, but even with the laser in designator mode and firing and the circular indicator on the target, the missile leaves the rail and immediately follows an arrow-straight, -45 degree path into the ground. The strange thing is that this happens whether or not the laser is firing, and also whether or not the laser is even powered! I have found that even with the laser system completely off, as soon as I switch to the Kh-25's and uncage the shkval, the circular indicator for the Kh-25 jumps to where my shkval is pointed. This shouldn't be possible, right? There's a pretty good chance I'm just doing it wrong, because all the guides online are rough at best, there's zero documentation on the 25ML in the manual, and the entire HUD is in cyrillic and I don't understand what a lot of the flashing symbols and letters mean. help? Thanks Kingfish

Title says most of it. When the stick is centered, the helicopter wants to pitch up to 15+ degrees nose up. The manual makes it sound like if the CG is balanced, you should be able to just increase collective and go straight up. If I do this, the helicopter tilts back and ends up sitting on its butt. I find i have to trim the cyclic forward about half of its total throw to get the helicopter to behave normally (i.e. letting go of cyclic makes it roughly hold even). This happens with both my startup and the auto startup, and with the autopilot channels on. Auto-hover without trim immediately pins the cyclic as far forward as it's authority allows, but it is not enough and I end up either sitting on my butt again or moving backwards and down if I'm already in the air. Is this how it is supposed to be, or am I doing something horribly wrong?

Let me preface this post by saying that I am an airplane guy through and through, so I am learning both how the heck helicopters even work at the same time as trying to figure out all the systems. I bought BS and have been trying to learn how to effectively fly it for some time now. I am still in the "make it go where I want it to" phase of learning, but I feel like I'm missing something, because the auto-functions don't seem to do what I want or what I would expect them to do, and half the time it feels like they're actively fighting me. So without further ado: Autopilot Functions: From what I understand, the heading, pitch, roll, and alt hold buttons activate some kind of stability system on the helicopter for the indicated channel. But they do not seem to do all that much. The manual says that they only have 20% authority over the stick, but even trimmed out as well as I can get and with the stick at zero, my helicopter likes to drift up and down and roll. If I am moving forward (trimmed) and I let go of the stick, it immediately pitches me way up, often past 30 degrees. I'm not sure why that happens. I have to trim my helicopter nearly half my control range nose-down just to keep it from making me do backflips. The only thing that works well is the heading hold, and that seems to work way too well and is always yanking me around left and right. Is the only way to get the hdg hold to settle on a new heading to hit the trim button at the new heading? Is there a mode where it simply holds whatever heading you leave the helicopter at? Exactly what is the purpose of the other autopilot buttons, seeing as they have apparently very limited control authority? What is the practical use case for these buttons? Flight Director: Ok, this one I have read forums and manuals and I'm still not sure what it does. As far as I can tell, turning FD on disables all the autopilot functions and replaces them with an indicator on the screen. Is this accurate? If so, what is the purpose of this mode, and what is the purpose of autopilot+FD rather than just turning off the autopilot? Auto Hover: From what I understand, you bring the helicopter to a near-hover, and hit the auto-hover button, and then...what, exactly? auto hover on and off, my helicopter likes to drift in all directions (albeit slowly), so I have to be constantly tweaking cyclic and collective position to keep from slowly drifting into the ground, or into trees, or towards the enemy. It feels like about the same amount of effort to hold position as it takes with the AH fully off. What does this function do exactly? I read somewhere on the forums that it is supposed to hold you in place while you hover. Assuming I'm doing something wrong and it does do this well, how would I then change my location set point? Turn off auto-hover and move? or does pilot input to move also move the AH setpoint? Anyways, I figure most of this is just gross misunderstanding of the systems. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Peace Kingfish

Custom manufacturing a whole simpit would not only be super expensive just for materials (and labor, if you send it to a shop to get made), but I think a lot of people just dont have room for a simpit in their house. I certainly don't. HOWEVER, I'd be super interested in buying individual panels. Like just the weapon selector and HUD switches. That would probably end up being way more affordable and widely appealing if you're looking to sell these. If I were rich and had a ton of space dedicated to simming, I would be on board in a second.
-
Huh. I've never had an issue with that. High res/1024 every frame makes everything in the cockpit as crisp as I could want. Maybe there's another setting that interferes?
-
What's wrong with the default cockpit? or is HoW just higher res textures?
-
That makes sense, but if the hydraulic pressure is too low to operate flaps/NWS, would that not be reflected in the hydraulic pressure gauge? In my experience it appears to stay in the green regardless of engine RPM.

Targeting while flying in Su-25t
kingfish replied to Kamov Akula's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
If you are looking through the Shkval in the Su25T and you hit the "target lock" button while you are not directly aiming at a target, it will stabilize the camera on the point it is looking at. Then, you can slew where that camera is over the ground. If you have your target size box set right, it will snap onto the target when you get it close. The Shkval viewing area is not great for finding targets, so here is the best approach: 1. Circle the area a few times, get some good SA on where everyone is and where they are going. 2. Pick a target, look at it (with your eyes, not your Shkval) 3. Roll in towards your target 4. point the AC to get the pipper roughly near the target, then lock it to stabilize. 5. using the TV, refine your aim onto the target 6. Laser on, wait for LA, whoosh, bang 7. Turn away, dump flares, fly unpredictably to make it harder for AAA Aiming with the AC is really rough, and aiming with the slew is really slow, so use the AC to get it close, and then used the slew to refine it. -
Are you saying that in the module manager it just says "buy" instead of "install"? If so, you need to bind the mig-21 key to your ED account on digitalcombatsimulator.com. Log in there, and go to your account page, and there is a link to input the key from Steam, so that DCS knows you own that module and will let you install it from the module manage.
