Manual rapid lockon, check out the heatblur manual. https://www.heatblur.se/F-14Manual/general.html

I don't think MRL mode is working. Cannot lock up anything in this mode.

How do you get the minimum turn radius and turn rate in the 21? I'm trying to learn how to dogfight effectively in it but I'm having trouble understanding when I'm at the limit of performance of the aircraft, constantly hitting the stall unexpectedly and getting stuck in low speed once I drop below 500kph

So I saw this in the patch notes. "Introduced structural damage on g-overloads" So I got into the Mig-21 and really threw it all over the place. Got up to 8 G max, 6-7 Sustained, But I didn't notice anything broken with the mig. Am I not reaching a high enough G? How do you structurally damage the mig with g-overload?

low fuel warning light RIO seat multiplayer
WelshZeCorgi replied to WelshZeCorgi's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yes, it turns on during startup and doesn't turn off. Even with full fuel. -
Hi there, I'm finding that the low fuel warning light in the RIO seat doesn't turn off during multiplayer when fuel is sufficient. When the pilot hits the button to clear warning lights, it does not go away.

Not sure where people are learning their English but little flex =/= no flex. I would think logically no flex = no flex and little flex = a little flex. My point was it doesn't flex much but it does flex. Whether or not ED wants to commit resources to simulate that is up to them and really, who cares? Not a deal breaker if they don't put wing flex in. But people making the argument that flexing a little = not flexing at all is absurd. If someone shot your toe off and then tried to make the argument that they, in fact, didn't shoot you at all, simply because they shot you "a little bit" and a little bit = not at all, nobody would buy that, I'm betting.

Same for the recent hot fix. Any fix for this?

Hell March, obviously.

If operating in a single ship, its only really in its element in hilly/mountainous areas that allows terrain masking from SAMs and fighters. If not, air cover and SEAD DEAD is needed.
-
Hey, you don't have to convince me, you gotta convice ED.
-
And if that's the case, fine. Wingflex too minimal it's a waste of time to implement. But I'm not sure why so many are trying to gaslight me over something so trivial in this Don't-believe-your-lying-eyes bonanza.

So how was Deka able to model the JF-17? It's a rather new aircraft in service in china and Pakistan in 2007 and 08 respectively. Did they get all the info they needed? Isn't, or shouldn't, the info be classified? I ask because it seems like a lot of aircraft are off the table simply because documents needed to model them properly are classified or something along those lines. So I'm wondering how or why Chengdu Aircraft Industry Group and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex gave approval.

PLUS ONE!!!!

I have a mouse that has several additional buttons on it besides the normal 2 and wheel. Can we be given the option to bind functions to those mouse buttons? Like flashlight or night vision?
-
Can we get an option to create a shadow, (could be in the shape of a hand, could be not) around the mouse cursor to block out strong light that might otherwise create so much glare on an instrument panel that it is virtually unreadable? If you want an example, try reading the weapon wheel in the F14 RIO seat when the sun is directly on it.

00:30-00:58 once again, stating that they do not move much, but they do flex. Seems like a demo, so no weight on pylons, probrably not fully fuel, saving weight, and weather appears to be rather clear and calm. (also probrably not pulling the same amount of Gs one would expect an A10C would in order to avoid fire.)

I wonder if RL fighters can "fake" a radar missile launch, as the radar uses a mode to guide the missile that is also picked up by RWRs, giving you that warning alarm when a fox one is fired. I wonder if you can fake a radar missile launch by putting the radar into the same mode it goes into in order to guide the missile, but not actually fire the missile. I think it would be a useful tool, forcing a opponent defensive when there's no missile in the air, allowing you to close the distance and fire a real missile with a higher PK, giving you the option to save missiles that otherwise have no chance to hit.

... would nations seriously employ anti-satellite missiles? Or is this sort of like nuclear weapons, as last option or would those in possession of Anti-satellite missile start blowing up hubble's left and right?

How about paying for a volcano update
WelshZeCorgi replied to SOAR_160's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I can't know for certain, but I get the feelings the nays outnumber the yays on this one. Also nay. -
I don't think I saw DTC in the list of upgrades for the A10C 2.

Can we get access to a "cartridge" settings page that allows us to put in defaults settings for the A10 when starting up? So that it uploads settings for the pages, and the HUD the way the user likes it everytime without having to go through the settings to change it everytime we load into a new A10?

I wanted to ask any weapon experts if there was a reason why there are heat-seeking manpads, but no radar homing manpads. Since most of the casualties inflicted by manpads are rotary winged helicopters, and based on my experience in DCS, most helicopters do not have an RWR or release chaff, so they are incredibly vulnerable to them. I've definitely had my share of getting blown out of the sky as a helicopter in Multiplayer, but since I don't have a working RWR, I have no idea I was even fired upon until I get hit by an R-77 or Aim120. Is it because creating a small enough radar system for it to be an effective man portable system is impossible, even with today's miniaturized tech? Is it because it would be too easy to counter? (putting in RWR systems and chaff in a helicopter wouldn't be too difficult or expensive?) Also same thing for TV-guided, why are there no TV-guided manpads?

Does the Pilot-Operator control and fire the chin gun in the other Hinds like the D? Makes me wonder why they're modeling the P.

Simulating the environment is just as important as simulating the aircraft, the systems the missiles... Imagine the F1 sim if they left out the commentators, the people in the stands the helicopters and blimps in the sky? Minor things really but doing environments well does a lot of good. I imagine those who poo-poo a decent dynamic weather system would rather play the version with it, than without it, all other things being equal.
