  1. I have noticed an increased instance of aim 7s flying straight and failing to guide at launch despite good locks.
  2. I find the mig21 the hardest to refuel.
  3. I would have to agree. That is a bit ridiculous and certainly not a "one off" event.
  4. There was an actual RIO that did a Livestream with a DCS group recently. It would have been nice if someone had asked about whether this behavior was normal with the TID.
  5. I see, my mistake. Thanks!
  6. Hi, I've been flying the 21 for a while and I cannot recall ever hearing or feeling (jetseat) a compressor stall. I've had the engine shut down while diving at speeds past mach 1, which I think causes compressor stalls, but the engine just spools down. I've done a few tests, watching the gauges to try and catch the surges, but they don't give the needle wobble that indicates compressor stall. I'm not familiar with the real 21 and wanted to ask if this was normal, a yet to be added feature or a bug.
  7. Is anyone else getting a pitching oscillation when activating sau recovery (the big black button on the right of the stick.) It seems to get worse over time, seems like a bug.
  8. We need to verify target disposition as well. I feel these ghost contacts happen more often with a near co-speed and/or near notching targets, which can only be checked with ground stabilized TID.
  9. What seems to happen is that the awg-9 misses the contact on one of the radar sweeps, then picks it up again in the next sweep, then the ghost contacts pop up. I think the event of losing then immediately reaquiring the contact causes this bug/anomaly to occur. This may occur if the pilot is rolling or turning too hard for the radar to compensate and loses the contact because it is no longer facing the target correctly, then picks it up again when the manuver has ended or the radar has caught up compensating for the violent manuvers
  10. +1 key press salute +1 for clickable salute
  11. Any REDFOR aircraft. there's too much American aircraft vs American aircraft in multiplayer and I love the Mig-21. It's such an interesting plane to learn (if a bit of a sitting duck in multiplayer)
  12. The problem is not headtracking, the problem is that the hardware limitations of current VR headsets making it impossible to keep track of visual contacts once they start to drift into the low-contrast, blurry, double vision producing peripheral views of the headset lenses. When you reach the end of your head's natural travel, you can move your eyes to get that extra leverage to look behind you, but because not only does the headset narrow your FOV already, what little peripheral vision play you get is mostly blurred. So whenever HABFM or DBFM ever happens, you're trying to fight with horse blinders on. Whenever he dips below the horizon, instantly, he blends into the terrain and disappears because the out of focus view the edges of the lenses provide is this low contrast, blurry, double image that is impossible to pick him out of. You can't effectively fight someone like that. It's annoying, it get's you shot down a lot and it is hardly "realistic". That's the problem trying to be solved here. It's not laziness, it's being handicapped by a $1000 piece of equipment that won't give you the same clarity, flexibility and range your real eyes do. Whether snap views or head acceleration is the solution is up for debate, but since there is no eye tracking headset yet, the only way to get a clear picture of a contact at the edge of your peripheral vision with current headsets available on the market is to keep it at the center of the headset FOV, which demands you basically twist your head off. Which you can image is a bit uncomfortable if not flat out annoying and painful.
  13. Can trees be added to the reflections shown in the mirrors? It's odd not to see any trees reflected.
  14. That elevation display left of the DDD that shows radar/tv elevation doesn't seem to light up when turning on the backlights. Is there a dial I'm not seeing, a bug or is this how it worked?
  15. What happens if there are numerous radars pointing at you from one direction, i.e. flight of 4 or awacs behind another attacking aircraft? Cause it might ping you a bunch and that would be confusing because you can't tell if one aircraft was really close or several aircraft were far.
  16. Agreed, especially during some training scenarios where the instructions are not voiced.
  17. Agreed, great idea, especially for road airfields used by the Viggen.
  18. Has ED's decision to work on the base game changed anything? Would this be a possibility now or no?
  19. WW2 stuff + modern stuff is rather consistent (except for the I-16) but its weird we have 2 (potentially 3 with the upcoming corsair) korea era aircraft, but no Korean map, (to the point we have an 'over the Yalu' campaign that takes place in caucuses), 3 modules (5 if you count the phantom and f-14A) in the Vietnam era but no Vietnam map. A Viggen but no Sweden map. I keep hearing rumors, but nothing official but it feels safe to say that the current mix of content is a bit scattershot.
  20. Don't ask this in the VR forum cause they will crucify you for not sycophantically chanting that VR is perfect and 100% realistic and nothing is wrong with the current state of VR.
  21. when a missile is fired at you, the RWR gives you a constant tone and all four directional lights on the RWR turn on... how are you supposed to determine where the missile is coming from?
  22. can passengers be animated and modeled when they enter, sit, stay, get hit, jump out, parachute or exit as passengers (like the uh-1 huey, mi-8, mi-24)?
  23. Would this be possible for the upcoming a10c upgrade?
  24. For example, the playable ajs37 viggen does not have cm unless you attach the pod, yet the AI ajs37 viggen inexplicably release chaff despite not being given one.
  25. The particle effects for smoke, fire and crashes, on planes, destroyed or damaged ground units, water splashes from bullets, cannon, bombs, sinking or damaged ships, buildings and all things war could use a facelift. Some stuff doesn't even make that much sense. Like rifle and light machine gun round will kick up as much dirt and be visible as a 20mm round striking the ground. Other times online it looks like another nonai pilot is continuously leaking fuel, but they're not leaking anything as far as they can tell, or the tank is already empty. Or how pylons are attached to air where the wing is missing or smoke is pouring from a wing that isn't there anymore. Ships simply blink out of existence instead of actually sinking under the waves and the damage looks copy paste on some poorly rendered fire and smoke effects.
