  1. That label says "Emergency transmitter FR 29", and that is a radio. Normal = normal Sänd = Transmit Mottag = Recieve Guess that textures should be somewhere else =) Seems like that FR29 radio only was used in the JA variant, so the cockpit modeller probably used textures based on a JA cockpit. Assuming that the JA variants had this KB switch replaced with this radio functionality. Which makes sense since they had a different CM system. And it is not the only button in the cockpit that has another functionality in the JA varaint (airbrake is another one). Maybe it should be listed as a bug :)
  2. Guess it is WIP, but the cockpit buttons aren't clickable and the keys can only be assigned to keyboard, not joystick buttons...
  3. Great news. I'm about to order one of those :)
  4. Second that. I have a LeoBodnar card and a couple of rotary switches waiting for this :)
  5. This is getting me really excited - where should I send my money?
  6. Great work, and appreciated as always. Funny that you used my video game reference for the HUD poles
  7. Well, when flying as low as it takes to read a road sign on a regular basis, who needs a navigation system anyway?
  8. I mapped the Hotas trim POV HAT to the trim controls, but it doesn't react what so ever. At least no result on the trim gauge.
  9. Sometimes I miss the days when we only had one Viggen thread, since now with this massive flooding of information it is harder to stay updated :music_whistling: Anyway, why isn't there any key bindings for the Generator or Main power switches?
  10. I have hard time finding the correct english explanation, but I would like to describe the fall like a kind of spiral swing movement. Based on the picture above I would say it might be a little exaggerated. I'll see if I get some time to test this in DCS tonight.
  11. My 25 years experience in the army says there is some swing in all light flares with parachutes, both smaller pistol variants up to the 8.4 cm Carl Gustaf model. Unfortunately I haven't seen any LYSBOMB in action IRL, but the principles should be the same. Haven't seen the DCS behavior so I don't know how much swing you are talking about. Is there any video?
  12. Yeah, I have downgraded my texture settings (to save some fps) and I can confirm that this text is totally unreadable.
  13. Perhaps it wasn't that SAAB'ish after all. I have been digging a bit and found out that the general english term for this seems to be "One plane readout" displays. Pretty common during this time period as it seems, used in anything from aircrafts to volt meters.
  14. I second that. It is amazing how many technical solutions swedish engineers built that are totally different from the rest of the world (50's to 80's). And the SAAB engineers being the true masters of doing things in an odd way. Sometimes ingenious, but mostly just plain odd :)
  15. Thanks! I have been searching for this information for a while. It would be nice to have some detailed information about the optics. And as soon as there is a DCS Bios support for this bird it should be possible to replicate (more or less accurate and complicated of course). I had something like this in mind: http://www.decadecounter.com/vta/articleview.php?item=1093 before I did know about this "Sifferindikator" solution.
  16. I can see that it is possible to have either a switch or axis assigned to that controller, but I haven't got any good answer regarding if the Rb 05 controller is analog or digital in real life?
  17. Yes you can. However this is one of the things i really hate with DCS, since the current solution takes a huge hit on performance. In order to add you two extra monitors you must have DCS set to render a total resolution of 3520*1080 (1920+800+800). Not really sure how it is done with UltraMFCD, but a native support like that in DCS with exports than can me moved around and resized as desired would be awesome.
  18. You have a bare metal F7 aircraft already (#64) in DCS in this video:
  19. Aha, something like the track perspective of old racing video games?
  20. In part 3 there are two four-groups of Viggens doing attack runs with training rockets. It sure is the air force version of the army AT-4 9mm training gun - i.e a big anti climax and disapointment compared to the original ;)
  21. According to the book there was a submarine salvage ship ,SS-30 (Project 532, Valdai class), and it actually crossed the border, unclear if it was by mistake or not. The rest of the rescue fleet turned away just before the border / or approx 60 seconds after the coastal artillery radar switched from scanning to tracking mode. If the latter had any affect on admiral Kalinins decision to turn around or not we don't know.
  22. I have this book, that has some information. Just going trough it very quickly, but I can confirm one Kashin and one Kildin class destroyers. - Kashin class, 446 Obraztsovyj, with the Baltic sea fleet chief of staff admiral Aleksej M Kalinin onboard. Noticable armament are the SSN 2 C (Nato "Styx") missiles. - Kildin class, probably Bedovyy, also armed with Styx missiles.
  23. Well, most of the targets a Swedish Viggen pilot would encounter was always at the same altitude - sea level. So not something to worry about on a daily basis
  24. The one big problem is how DCS handles graphics and viewports. If you want a viewport on a second screen the total render is the both screens total resolution, which of course demands a high grade computer or you loose a lot fps... Perhaps this is handled different in 2.5. Something like UltraMFCD would be nice, with scalable and unique windows for each.
  25. Wow, a new video. Great. Even non swedes can enjoy this, since there are some nice low level flying :) And as already stated, nice video of the radar in action etc.
