Hi, Yes, the radar altitude source info changed some time ago with the radar rework. The radar needs the INS to do a lot of its function and the INS altitude is supposed to be quite precise.
-
Hi, You must have not set your altitude correctly when doing your INS alignment. The default BUT altitude is 99999 feet and the radar uses the altitude from the INS to compute the antenna search altitudes.
-
That's what I suspected :).
-
Could you share a screenshot of the radar when you are having this issue ?
-
There is no difference. The vertical/horizontal is just a reference to the fact that MAV is selected or not.
-
Yes, it should be fixed next patch. There is a chance that the fix did not make it because we sent it to ED very close to the cut-off date. Anyway, sorry for the inconvenience.

[RESOLVED] Tiny, mini, micro-bug in the manual :)

Hi, The cover closes as soon as you press the start-up button, this is intended. If you guys are having issues with the start-up, I'm sure it would come from something else. That's why we need a track to see if there is a bug or a problem with your start-up procedure.

Hi, Yes a rework of the engine sounds is planned but it is not in the works yet. The mirage being one of the first 3rd party module it uses some old ways (old in DCS) to generate the sound and will need some help from ED to improve the sounds. Thanks.

If your jammer was on then it's expected behavior :).
-
There is a slight chance that you where on the missile trajectory and it got close enough for the proximity fuse to trigger. It happened to me against a F-15. But to answer a question, no the 530 is a pure semi-active missile but it can home on jam so watch your jammer use.

As I said and as Akiazusa demonstrated, the radar has a maximum range greater than 40 nm, if you don't show us your issue we won't he able to help you resolve it. Please, share a short track or a short video of you having this issue.
-
You are mistaken, the radar range against a fighter sized target is about 60 nm. Are you sure you are using the radar correctly ? A track or a video would allow use to help you.

Strange looking MiG-23 you got there ^^

Hi, That's how the radar works IRL, there is no way around it. The antenna will scan at the elevation it last saw the target when lock is lost, it's a feature. If you have an problem with the radar elevation doing strange things, you should post a track showing the issue so he can see if it's a bug or something else.

[RESOLVED] Autopilot disengagement sound when AP not engaged
myHelljumper replied to zb2oby's topic in Resolved Bugs
Hey guys, Thanks for the track. While the behavior is the one on the altitude alert, it should not trigger when set under 1000ft. Thanks for the report ! -

[REPORTED] 530 almost not maneuvering in some cases
myHelljumper replied to JG300_Faucon's topic in Bug Reports
Hi, This issue should've been partially fixed in one of the last updates. Unfortunately this issue will remain in some cases as we are not able to totally fix this issue. We are working with ED on this but it might take time to get a solution. But from our tests this should be a lot less problematic. Thanks. -
[RESOLVED] Autopilot disengagement sound when AP not engaged
myHelljumper replied to zb2oby's topic in Resolved Bugs
Hi, The autopilot gong also work as a altitude floor alert. It will sound when the altitude is +1000ft and -300 ft from the selected altitude only when descending. -
Hi, Glad you like the module. The autopilot gong works just like you described, on when descending at +1000ft and -300ft from the selected altitude. Its main use would be a altitude floor when training or fighting. Yes, this is intended. But the light test is not totally accurate yet and we plan on going over it at some point to fix it. We found out about this not too long ago, we don't have any information on what is correct yet, but it would be logical to display the RD symbology in rear presentation. We will see to fix this in the coming updates.
