1. There is a seperate subforum for F/A-18C which also includes a Bugs and Problems section 2. Already reported and confirmed by the developers in another thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=212756 Just a heads up for the future :)

From Chuck's Guide (a good read for questions like these) IR (Infrared) Cool Switch Used to start cooldown cycle for the AIM-9 infrared seeker to increase sensitivity and reduce background noise. • NORM: Seeker head cooldown cycle is active • OFF: Cooling will still be sent to the AIM-9 seekers if there is no weight on wheels, Master Arm switch is set to ARM, and AIM-9 is selected as the priority weapon. Otherwise, cooling cycle is inactive. Note: there is enough coolant to last three hours. Also, if you can't tell the difference then I assume that its not yet modelled because you know, early access ;)

People complaining about IFF not being in todays patch in 3..2..1..
-
In theory they all do. Its just a question of which plane is able to carry a laser guided weapon, as a JTAC works with a laser designator. The M2000C and F-5E are able to carry them and rely on a JTAC (or buddy) to lase the target for them. Its still pretty hard to get the GBU to track the laser as you still have to guess when to release and take various factors in account. The A-10C and the Harrier can also work with a JTAC, these are a bit more complex modules but they also give you a bigger hit chance. In the end any aircraft that can recieve coordinates or a MGRS grid can find and kill a target through a JTAC, its just that some planes were designed to work with them :)

About Hornet Mini-Updates - Removing pylons - visual cue?
MrDieing replied to Jack McCoy's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
What happened to the good old 'wait and see' ;) -
Looks like the A-Team has arrived.
-
That would kinda explain why ED is involved. Perhaps they are opening up a whole new part of the game with transport features and RAZBAM developing the first aircraft.
-
Exactly, but as usual with these kind of threads, it has turned into a personal wishlist thread :D But one can hope I guess ;)
-
Im pretty sure the guys at RAZBAM would not do such thing if it was a flying Austin Allegro or Cessna 172 for that matter. Its probably something good. And if ED is involved, then its only getting better.

I know some of you lot don't have Facebook and I was quite surprised that there was not already a thread on this but let me just show you this. Maybe some more news this afternoon? I'm quite in the dark about what it could be. Surely its not some kind of new module as we already know their roadmap for the coming years. Start the rumour machine ;)

They did, but the products you buy on Steam now come with a Steam activation code instead of the new keyless system.

Thought I put the log on the first post but apparantly not. dcs.rar

Let me try to describe my actions as detailed as possible. 1. Spawned on the John C. Stennis, hot start, attached to catapult 1 in the Aggressor skin with a clean loadout. 2. Launched, took a little low level flight. Landed at Tonb Kochak. 3. Parked. Without shutting anything else down first, I turned off my engines and straight after that my battery. 4. Rearmed with 2x Sidewinders on the wingtips, 2x2 Mk82 on the outer pylons and 2x2 19 rockets. 75% fuel. 5. Started APU, crank+start right engine. After succesfull start, crank+start left engine. 6. Press Stop on the BIT page. 7. Put flaps in Half for FCS Bit test. 8. Started FCS Bit test. This is where the problem started. The FCS Bit test did not start. It only did the first test of the LEF and got stuck in there. (See screenshot) After that, flaps and (takeoff) trim no longer worked. My flaps were stuck in this position, and I was unable to set takeoff trim. Tried the FCS reset button, it gave me a RSTRT on the FCS Bit page. Started again, same result. It was just stuck in there. Have some more screenshots of the issue if needed. DCS Log attached. I was unable to upload the track file to the site directly so here is a MEGA link to it. https://mega.nz/#!N1kg3ADQ!c8bivOs627RFySRhBRGHg-7Kpv0k9NprzuchVdAwe40 Hope I was able to help.

A multitude of questions for operating the Hornet
MrDieing replied to Magic Zach's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
It will, but the accuracy will remain roughly the same. Only difference is if you take a hit and GPS gets hit, your INS will start drifting. -
A multitude of questions for operating the Hornet
MrDieing replied to Magic Zach's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Thats why the Hornet also has a GPS system that corrects the INS drift when you put the INS in IFA mode. (Not modelled yet) -
My PG map folder reads 22,3 GB after unpacking. I believe download is 12 gb. Have fun on this great map! Dont listen to the vinegar pissers :)

ECM is not implemented yet in this version of EA.
-
Probably the fifth hundred time this has been asked. Use the Search function on the forums or use Google. Here is what to come; https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3285514&postcount=13 No timeframe on anything, probably wont come either. Because if they miss any window the community will moan their arses off. So the reason why we dont get any is on ourselves as a community.

Take off on shore = Take-off trim (stablizers 12 degrees up) + HALF flaps Take off on Carrier = HALF or FULL depending on several factors. You should be good 9 out of 10 times with HALF. For trim use the following (set manually) Below 44,000 gross weight = stab trim 16 degrees (MIL or burners) 45,000 to 48,000 gross weight = stab trim 17 degrees (MIL or burners) 49,000 and above = stab trim 19 degrees (Burners required)

I thought FA18 had a hands off stick carrier launch?
MrDieing replied to silent one's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
You do realize that there is a 1000 pound gap between those settings?
