  1. Am I blind or are the roundels correct?
  2. Definately more advanced then the training missions, and not really revolving around what buttons to push, but rather the correct procedures. For example, doing a rocket attack after a combat turn or doing a rocket attack after a loft maneuvre. Very interesting and quite pretty challenging!
  3. Thats one way to look it, but I think people will choose the Hornet for everything now and realize it can do everything but not as well as a Hog can do A2G etc. I myself will also primarily fly the Hornet but will definately not allow for dust to settle on my other modules :)
  4. Current capabilities are equal to the M2K, with the exception of the GBU-12 series, which the M2K can't use on its own properly. And, the F/A-18C can land on carriers, which makes it even more useful then a M2K ;) My two cents on the topic, I think people will fairly soon realize that being able to do 'a bit of everything' is not going to cut it. Depending on the scenario obviously, you can't just fully complete it with only Hornets. It might be able to kill of some air targets and then do some ground pounding, but it won't have that much of an impact on the overall mission progress.
  5. Im telling you the Community Managers have orders to dehype the community :D
  6. I would like to add that Chuck's Guide can help you a great deal in understanding the full fidelity modules. Combined with the manual that comes with the module of your chosing you shouldnt have a super hard time. It takes some time and practice, but you will get there eventually, and these guides can really help you understand faster! https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=135765
  7. It's always difficult to find the true meaning and tone behind a piece of text on a forum, stuff like this happens. In the end (even though I knew myself and also fly OB all the time) I agree with you that it should just say 'available for download at the end of Spring 2018 on the 2.5 Open Beta', so that new pilots, whom are definately coming now that the F-18 is very close, know exactly what they can expect. Just a friendly piece of feedback for the amazing ED Team
  8. Welcome to the Owners Club :)
  9. You do, I do not have my sources ready at the moment, but I am 100% sure there is going to be a payware carrier DLC. The carrier that you are seeing in press release videos is an updated free carrier for everyone that will probably come when the Hornet goes into Early Access.
  10. Thats assuming that ED is actually simulating that. At the moment it is not simulated at all in DCS and all aircraft base it purely on the coalition the contact is in.
  11. First of all, the options that are grayed out are only available for change out of game, so in the main menu. That means that if you want to change that Russian into something else, you need to go to the main menu and click the gear icon on the top. Secondly, the tower is in Russian because you are in a Russian Airforce aircraft on the Russian side of the map. As of yet there is no way to change that language without some advanced knowledge of the ME (e.g. open the missions from the campaign individually in the Mission Editor and change the coalition/country to NATO). The back seater is supposed to be in English as is the briefing. In my experience, the (Russian) ATC is not needed for this campaign. Sure, it adds a little immersion, but you will be totally fine when you do not use it. You will not fail any mission etc. You can even check your kneeboard and see which runway is in use and what way you are supposed to taxi etc. Hope this helped you out a bit!
  12. Please ellaborate? I have both my L-39 and the campaign fully in English.. Not sure whats going on.
  13. Inactive just means you are not currently playing it. Just click on the Kursant Campaign, and then the green button to the bottom right, it will load and you should be good to go! And as explained earlier, the serial numbers are gone when it comes to newer modules. They are now electronically connected to your account.
  14. These are the times where 'Here is my statement, here is my proof, this is the truth and nobody can change that whatsoever' is the way to go I guess..
  15. Not my quote but it made me think of it :D Lesson learned the hard way ;)
  16. Would like this aswell, but apart from that, great campaign so far, played through the first few missions and I love it!
  17. No problem CptSmiley, its software and you guys are human, stuff like this happens! Unlike some others, it will not prevent me from enjoying your products!
  18. The Container pretty much refers to Groom Lake AFB and its surroundings. See this little map, where it says 51.
  19. So I fired up a Instant Action mission on Nevada, the Cold and Dark one to be precise. After start up I took a quick look on the F2 view and saw something... interesting. Occured on the latest update; 2.5.1 Update 1.
  20. As far as I understand it, the current ingame US Carrier is getting an update which is free to everyone, and that is the one you are seeing in video's at the moment. Later they will make full carrier DLC with a lot of functions etc. Not sure how they plan on implementing that.
  21. If you have Easy Comms disabled, make sure you use the correct radio. Each radio has its own mic button. You can check if you pull up the Communication Menu in the top right corner. If it says Intercom your voice is going through the intercom and when you are in the air.. Well.. Just make sure it says the correct radio on the top right.
  22. 34.2 Gb on my end
  23. Follow up pics with chicks in tow.
  24. Im clearing some room for the upcoming Persian Gulf and F/A-18C and noticed some backup folders in my DCS folder. I know I did not create these manually (or I must have a real bad memory) and one of them contains the Nevada terrain, which is 13gb. I wondered if these folders are necessary for the sim to run? I am on the Open Beta branch by the way. Thanks in advance for your insights!
  25. Nope, Heatblur is working individually on a Forrestal Class-carrier, whilest ED's module is going to be the John C. Stennis if im not mistaken (Nimitz Class, Theodore Roosevelt subclass)
