Went down and bought a steering rack boot.Cut the top off the tie rod end and it fitted easily.
-
Sorry I missed your review dburne.I am thinking of sawing a piece of rubber boot off a wrecked front wheel drive.I am sure they will have plenty lying around at my local wrecking yard.Trying to think where else you might get something suitable.
-
I noted awhile back when I first got my T50CM Base the section where the rubber flange sits on the base of the stick. There is a gap there, you can see directly into the housing, you can see the working parts when you move the stick around. I was thinking about putting another rubber boot over this piece to prevent dust from accumulating in there and causing problems after awhile..Has anyone else tried to cover this piece over?At the moment I have just got a hankercheif wrapped and knotted around it.I really do not like the thought of dust getting in there on such and expensive piece of equipment. I know there is a dust cover option but that is not really going to stop stuff accumulating in side the works.

I think I had a similar experience. You may have to try going over the setup procedure again. -
with out knowing what your budget is Baz I think (and you can guarantee someone will correct me)your best option is to get the extra ram. If you can pick up a reasonably priced second hand graphics card .It would seem a bit pointless buying a new MB as then you probably will not be able to use your current ram ,which is something you said you wanted to do.There are plenty of other guys more knowledgeable than me here that can give you advice on the best option.
-
:)Yep if you' got a lot of those ole original floppies(5 1/4") then you are getting on.I used to love the sound the drive would make , loading those disks.:clap_2:
-
May not be possible to keep that ram unless you have 2 more slots available.Whats your budget?
-
could you just not update 1.5 to 2.5 then you have no need for 2.2
-
Not to my knowledge, although I am thinking I will turm my Dell moniter off while VR is running, it gets pretty warm and I have to wait for it to cool down before I can cover it to keep the dust off when I shut down the computer.Could save some power to.
-
Sceptre if you can I would go for a beefier card than than that one.So when you upgrade the rest of your computer you will have a descent card to get the most out of your new system..

You could try this handy tip from Cibit.Stops the oculus software launching. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=196573&page=8

Contrary to what you said in the last bit of your post there Zukov. I switched to simple radio commands.I think that what its called, correct if I am wrong. It is in the options menu ,that sorted it for me.

Samsung Odyssey review by someone who’s never played VR
Dinga replied to Speedywrx's topic in Virtual Reality
"I’d like to record some clips off of it, but it records in portrait mode (taller than it is wide). There is also some distortion around the edges and it seems to record a little off axis (not horizontal with the horizon) as you can see in this video. Here is a short video hitting initial to the inside overhead… had some trouble fumbling around for the ‘G’ key to drop the gear on downwind, haha. I hit initial around 1:46 so skip to then. I just used the Windows 10 recorder. Any recording tips?" If you have not watched Jabbers video .Its well worth a look .Find it at the top in the sticky section under Virtual Reality, DCS World Guide for All things VR -
Samsung Odyssey review by someone who’s never played VR
Dinga replied to Speedywrx's topic in Virtual Reality
"Any recording tips?" Thank you for the review for the Samsung odyssey. If your serious about recording in cockpit type videos, try not to pan around the cockpit to quickly. I know that is easy said, much more difficult to do because it seems natural an unnoticeable to you when your using the headset. Mind you that's just my personal opinion, others might not even notice it.Perhaps some closer views of the instruments would be helpful also. Good flying, nice approach and landing. To me if the quality on the video is the same as the actual headset view, the Samsung is giving a better image than my Rift. -
Just a quick question .How do you get Bluetooth working on a desktop computer? How does it handle Normandy terrain?
-
pretty expensive seat mover ;)

I have only experienced the Rift and found it to be a very good product and would recommend it to anyone who owns DCS wishing to experience VR flying. However I can not speak for the Vive machine so therefore I am a little bit biased in my opinion. To anyone who buys now, they have the satisfaction that they got more or less a good buy, as always happens generally in life ,something else will usually come along that makes you feel " if only I had waited". Then again if you are patient person, that to will become a bargain one day, although sadly this never seems to happen with video cards.
-
Well I am hoping your wrong .I think there will be a new video card out and likewise 2nd gen VR.The demand is there so therefore you would think the current makers of these products would take advantage of the the market. We will just have to wait and see.Hard to imagine 5 quarters going by and no new hardware.
-
With no resistance this will not be very imerssive. No you would need to be using a physical joystick as well, already mentioned by Niel .Then you could say, what's the difference between that and just modeling the pilots hand onto the stick. So therefore IMHO the only use for this is to select buttons levers and switches. That is immersive but I am not going to buy gloves just to do this unless they are inexpensive(not likely).I do not think ED is going to bother with it either in the short term at least. So how do build in resistance into virtual reality? The next big leap perhaps!

1. I doubt it 2.same 3.better to have the same res occulus uses I believe 4.Really depends which terrain you are using. In 1.5 you could probably use a PD of 2, where as Nevada and Normandy assuming you have them, you may have to dial it back abit to 1.7 5.increasing PD will help improve this. 6.Yes.Try the occulus tray tool. 7.Yes happens to me,VR loves fling wings. do not take this as gospel, because someone with more savvy will be along.

When you go to the arming section in the mission editor there is lots of flashing on the aircraft in the hanger when using Oculus Rift.Is really noticiable when deferred shading is activated and only barely visible when it is not.
