Try running it in admin mode, it does make a difference for some programs.

Are you running OT in admin mode? You could always try doing a repair to DCS to make sure everything is OK.

Congrats on the pending anniversary! My wife and I will hit 44 years on the 23rd.

Now that should get you some brownie points!

Turned 64 two days ago. Started out with F15 Strike Eagle on an Atari ( you'll never need more that 8 k of ram) computer.
-
You just need one install. You configure OvGME to see both versions. This is the big difference that sets this apart from JSGME.

A new driver, 376.09, is out. Haven't had a chance to test it.

Here in the States it's the day after the Thanksgiving holiday (last Thursday in November). It ushers in the Xmas shopping season with all kinds of crazy sales and marketing gimmicks, and sometimes crazy antics from shoppers. I kind of miss the old days when I lived in Germany, Langer Samstag and shops closed on Sunday. I left Germany for the last time in 1992.

Need help configuring OpenTrack
Len62 replied to doveman's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
No problem. It's that time of year. Take your time and get to it when you can. -
FWIW I do all my X55 settings directly in game and have no problems. Maybe try uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them. There are some entries in device manager that need to be removed before re-installing. The info is available at Saitek's site.

Need help configuring OpenTrack
Len62 replied to doveman's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I don't generally move in the Y or Z axis in game. I use zoom for the Z and don't worry about the Y. There are some more changes being incorporated into OpenTrack but no new preview/release version yet. I think there is still a link at the GitHub site for doing the camera offset settings, there was a link embedded in OT but it was removed a couple of versions back. Just checked the OT wiki and the link has been removed. Basically, you start OT with Center on Startup unchecked, then open the camera offset tab and manually adjust the numbers until the main readout shows 0 for Yaw/Pitch/Roll. I can try and do a short vid for you if you like. Would be later tonight, somewhat busy this afternoon. -

The red cross should be to the right if you wear the clip on the right, the image is reversed. Make sure on your mappings that you have some deadspace set for each axis, you need to experiment with how much, but it can help with the crosstalk. Finally, if you use the Camera Center as Translation setting, you can adjust the settings to compensate for camera location. Can you try mounting the clip on the left side? -

A couple of things to look at. On the PointTracker tabs under camera go to the point settings and adjust the pixel size so they display around 7 or 8 pts, set the min to 4 and the max to 15 (at :33 in your video you can see 2 points merging which screws up the tracking). Next, on the model tab for the clip you have to measure your clip and enter the correct dimensions, you are using the default measurements. On the options, camera tab uncheck "Use Camera Center as Translation Offset". Your center head position does look to be way off the mark. Take a look at this short video: and this one: I'll get back with you later, I want to take another look at your mapping settings. -

I had not noticed that, probably because I don't use the custom tab, but it is interesting. I won't be available for the next day or so. If you get the video done I would be glad to take a look at it. Also, a pic of your mapping and accela filter settings. (Edit) I took a quick look at my PT settings and the custom tab shows all zeros, maybe if you try the clip tab you should set the custom settings back to zero. -

Okay, but you might want to try it anyway, small offset shouldn't impact the tracking. -

Have you made any adjustments to the mapping and/or accela filter? I've attached my ini file that I use, give it a try and let me know how it goes. Make sure you re-calibrate after loading the ini. Also enter the clip dimensions on the "clip" tab, not the "custom". DCW p13 cam ctr.ini.txt -
Could have been a bad camera. Did you install the cleye driver for the camera and make any adjustments? I bought a used ps3 eyecam for $10.00 over a year ago and it works without any issues. Homemade 3 pt IR clip, opentrack, and the ps3 eye, works like a charm.
-
You can always try Opentrack and use the Aruco Paper Marking option. You print out a marker, mount it on your forehead, and the camera will track the movement of the marker. No need for any LED clips or a filter on your camera. May be a little tricky to set-up but it is free.

Convert headtracker from battery to USB power
Len62 replied to Raven_Morpheus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Visit the Freetrack site as Dami mentioned. You can determine what size resistor you'll need to run off of 5 volts. You may want to use an external USB power supply to avoid the issue Dami mentioned. I use an old 5 volt phone charger, or you can wire in a fuse to protect your motherboard. -
Thank you for the mod. I don't use JGSME but I managed to make a mod file for OVGME using OVGME's built-in options. Will do some flying with the mod later on tonight. Thanks again!
