What has me thinking this is I would like to be able to place illumination around the Normandy airfields to help with night landings. I currently work around this using illumination bombs, full moon nights, "sacrifices" (explode units to start fires), or the smoke effects. The small smoke effect is closest to what I have in mind but doesn't seem to cast much if any illumination into the surrounding area. I see this as useful for night landings, and simulating signals from resistance units or any low tech ground units (doesn't have to be limited to WWII era).

Yo-yo I'm really interested in the spin characteristics of the 109-K4, it seems to fight spin entry and once in, recovery appears to happen immediately on releasing the spin inputs (full aft stick plus full left rudder is what I'm doing), making it feel to me like it was never in the auto-rotation at all. Do you have any thoughts on this?

I've never seen this one before, in Charnwood the P51's (once you order them to RTB) make low approaches with gear and flaps down and level out maybe 4 ft above the runway, flight the length of the runway, then go around. Almost certainly a Normandy map or core DCS bug. Oh, and this applies to both the 3 in your flight plus the additional 4 in missions where you lead an 8 ship. I can reproduce it every time so if needed I'll get a track or video if somehow this is just showing up on my end. Open beta flown today.

[CANT REPRODUCE] 8v8 single mission, FW190's do not engage
Rolds replied to Rolds's topic in Bugs and Problems
I guess, my point is that this is one of the stock missions and the way it is set up doesn't play out the way I think is intended. -
What RPM and boost are you running when you try? I think maybe the problem is you are running with the propeller RPM in the full aft, lowest RPM position? When I try this (throttle full open, full low RPM) the instruments show me RPM at the bottom of the green arc and manifold pressure tops out at 18 inches. The bombers slowly creep away from me.

See track Fw190's carry on straight ahead. -
Brakes can't hold the aircraft still at 4lbs/in^2
Rolds replied to Rolds's topic in Bugs and Problems
I fixed this in my version by removing the .33 multiplier that was added at some point to the max braking moment in the FM options file. -
cannot reproduce I can move my head outside canopy glass
Rolds replied to River's topic in Bugs and Problems
I can now move my head beyond the glass too, looking back just like op said, and I also only noticed it after a recent OB patch. -
Same, no gas in the tanks.

Which fuel tank are you trying to run on? I say this because: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=227452 I did try your mission and had no trouble keeping up with the bombers. My frame rate eventually became unplayable near the coast of France, but I can see you've done some nice work with the editor, hope your rig can handle it!

With point 2, it does seem like AI (I particularly notice this with warbirds but maybe it applies to all, and AAA?) might preferentially target human players over other AI.

I will lead the squadron, PM me if you want to fly 15's together.

OR presents Axis versus Allies - All Out War - air domination

Rolds P51D ...But if needed I can fly any type -
...do not bomb the target, they make runs but pull back before releasing bombs, maybe due to presence of AAA? Open beta, played on Feb 16, 2019. Commands given were engage primary and rejoin (to flight), and attack primary target (to second "F10" group)

I fly P51 and all others on burning skies all the time. I think P51 is the most capable air to air, that's the one I choose for special events.

So not seeing a lot of sign ups for this one, is it still on?

I can get around the patrols, running 0 to +2 boost most of the time. But what gets me is that once we get back the AI have a routine where they hold at a waypoint a couple miles off the runway, and one at a time they peel off and land. The process takes 15 minutes and is a problem when the spitfire doesn't have much more than 1.5 hours total endurance on these missions. I end up with wing men ejecting because they've been sitting in a hold long after we got back over the airfield and I told them to RTB. What I would really like is if the AI could just fly a low, quick pattern and land. First aircraft straight to the downwind and cut it in the way we've been told spitfire pilots would, 180 degree turn when abeam the threshold. Next aircraft follow close and only go around if they really have to. The whole flight should be able to land in a few minutes.

Oh thanks! I read this right after I woke up and didn't see there were no 342-M's in by default, thanks for making the change.

Are we forgetting about the M12 GMC?

Rolds, P51D, I quite enjoyed the last one!

I find that while holding the brakes, and holding full aft on the stick, the aircraft starts to pivot and slide forward at a pressure of 4lbs (prop rpm full forward). This is problematic as run up procedures on pages 139-140 of the manual call for higher pressures during engine run-up. I wasn't flying the spitfire for a while, but I feel like this wasn't always the case?

Mine isn't double bound, I cleared it and reset to my preference and it stays red. The kneeboard can be opened but can't cycle through the pages.

Landmines do not appear to damage any types of units
Rolds replied to Rolds's topic in Mission Editor
Any update on this item? They still don't cause damage as of latest OB version.
