  1. Make sure you are not flying in landing gaines. I experienced this when I had the air refuel door open.
  2. Although I think those oscillations <800kts are not correct I keep saying that max speed of a Viper is 800kts! So personally I don't care if it blows up or tears apart after hitting 800kts.
  3. Max speed for Viper is 800kts or M2.05 whichever comes first. That does not say that what you experience is correct.
  4. I said some people, not meaning to point at you. Trying to explain and clarify things a bit more. The stores config light is still something that confuses pilots every now and then.
  5. Sparrows were looked at but to my knowledge never actually came in full development.
  6. That is actually incorrect. The seat safe lever mechanically won't let you pull the D ring. So I think you discovered a bug here.
  7. It is more or less the other way around. If a pilot pulls the D-handle...normally the canopy will come off and when lanyards are pulled the seat is activated. But when he pulls the D-handle and nothing happens it is probably because the canopy is still on... So his options are: opening the canopy normally..so open spider guard (yellow handle canopy) and flicking the canopy switch up.....when the canopy opens only a tiny bit the airflow will catch the canopy and brake it off.. pulling the lanyards and immediately activating the seat (seat is already hot by pulling the D-handle) on the left console all the way to the back on th sidewall of the cockpit there is a little grey handle which he can turn so the canopy will open and same will happen as mentioned above. OR he could pull the canopy jettison handle and when the canopy is jettisoned the seat is immediately activated. probably so fast that I am always wondering where his fingers will be when the seat goes....
  8. Here are two pictures with DTC installed. On the 2nd pichture there is the DTC handle shown upright. Normally the DTC is placed with handle down. By putting the handle down you lock the DTC in place.
  9. What you see is only the hatch where a etc is placed. When a etc is placed you will see the cartridge coming out of that hatch. I will try to vind aan example
  10. Idle RPM is highly influencerd by temperature. That’s why it is stated as 1 inch above idle. Because in DCS everyones throttle is different this would be very hard to simulate.
  11. Do you have to make the liveries folder yourself. Because i do no have such a folder.
  12. For Tacam be sure to set the tacan to T/R in the DED.
  13. You never power out of a deepstall. Because of the large AOA the engines airflow throughout intake is screende. You need to go to idle before working the MPO.
  14. You just have to be correct. That is all.
  15. Well you have people thinking that the Viper simply senses the stores. But in real rime you coulid program something totally different in the SMS and let the jet think it is CAT1 while the real stores are a CAT 3 configuration. What i means was that some stores are CAT1 stores however the jet produces a Stores configuration light. Pilots can accept that. The Cat switch does not limit G. It only gives more safety margin in the flight envelope by limiting AOA and rollrate for example.
  16. Wel.."the jet knows" is not completely true. It just looks at the SMS and the config that is programmed there. Also some configs (block dependent) will produce a Stores Config light but pilots may accept the light. But that is specifically shown in the config manual (~1500 pages).
  17. True statement... hallelujahhh
  18. As far as I know the IFF symbology will not be shown in the HUD or JHMCS. It is only noticeable in the RADAR or HSD.
  19. In cruise gains the F-16 IS AOA/G rated. So whichever hits first is the limiting factor. So in CAT 1 when the ~25,6 AOA hits earlier than 9,2G's it will be limited in AOA. If 9,2 is hit first, the Viper will be G limited. So the more AOA you get the less G you can pull. In CAT 3 it is the same AOA/G rated but now the max AOA is ~18 and G limit is still 9,2G In landing gains the Viper is pitch rated till about 10 AOA where it will graudually becomes AOA limited (max 21).
  20. Be aware that the before entering/ startup and verify checklists do not directly say you to SET switches, they basically tell you to check the position. A few examples of switches that are 99,9% already in the correct setting are: Probe heat switch - OFF : pilot should select Probe heat off after landing. but when he forgets forgets to turn it off he will get a probe heat light in about 2 minutes. His action will be to turn it off... so it is already in the correct place ALL FLCS switches... just check if everything is already set as it should.. Fuel Master switch- OPEN : this switch should already be open and guarded, so again just a check Eng feed, Air refuel, Main power - OFF..duhhhh….en much more. So most of the checks is just to verify switches are in the correct position. What surprised me was the following: A lot of switches (including the SQL switches) will never be touched after landing and shutdown. It is no problem and safes the other pilots time when those switches are already in the correct setting for the next flight: Switches that normally never get touched by a pilot after landing and before flight (only checked): SQL switches, COM 1 and COM 2 switches will remain on, UHF radio will remain in Both, and in preset. Master ARM switch most of the time will remain in Simulate. So the above switches may be in the positions mentioned during a cold start. Other switches that are not in the correct setting during cold start: CNI switch should be in Backup instead of UFC The Oxygen demand regulator is switched to OFF and 100% after landing so this should be in theis setting before startup.
  21. Why would you wanna counter the wind, except maybe for crosswind landings? You are not trying to center the HUD picture are you? Look at the slip indicator in the ADI. If that is centered yaw trim is fine.
  22. In real life continues lasing would.make the bomb fall short.
  23. TACAN needs the MIDS LVT to be switched on and you need to be in Transmit receive. You can find the latter on the TCNILS page on the DED and dobber right to set it to Transmit receive.
  24. I think that device is wrong than it might be a block 30 thing. As earlier in this posttrain the manual says that it might come on momentarilly during switching. And will show when the indicator does not receive electrical power.
