  1. Wow, this is absolutely incredible...a masterpiece! This is truly amazing work! Thank you so much! Time to get reading and prepare for release!
  2. Wow, that is incredible! Impressive work! Now that we are seeing the RIO cockpit, this is a big step towards release! Keep up the amazing work Heatblur and thank you!
  3. Will Heatblur be adding this t-shirt to their store?
  4. Ha! Feb 29, I need to make sure I ask my boss if I can have off from work that day....
  5. Heatblur has an incredible thing going here and really needs to pursue the A-6E and further upgrades to the Tomcat. It all seems to be coming together, slowly...but surely. Forestall class aircraft carriers, Tomcats, Intruders....this could really become an incredible simulation of 80's-90's U.S. Naval Aviation.
  6. Very well said, no argument to this as it is indeed fact. I have my FPS set at 60, however; what should I be doing with my GSYNC and screen refresh rate of 144Hz? Do those even matter as long as my FPS target is set to 60?
  7. This is the best way to look at it. In 43 days or less, we will all be flying the Tomcat. :pilotfly:
  8. Agreed, the negativity has to stop. Heatblur needs all of our support and encouragement. For us Tomcat lovers, they are doing something incredible and unprecedented in flight simulation. It looks like we will be getting the manual in the next week or so which gives us a lot to look forward to and enjoy until release.
  9. Oh man, great news! Thank you so much! I can't wait to start reading it! Keep it up guys and good luck down the final stretch!
  10. I don't see any air start or GPU carts from ED in the static units list in the Mission Editor so hopefully Heatblur will add these at some point. Maybe they will be part of the Forrestal-class aircraft carrier when that is added.
  11. Thanks for the info! Glad to see this is possible. While it will just take some time to get used to using the Airspeed Indicator, it will be nice having some sort of digital indication of speed since it won't be displayed on the HUD.
  12. +1!
  13. Wow, this in incredible! Great stuff Cobra! Thank you!
  14. Does the Tomcat have the ability to display ground speed on the VDI and/or HSD?
  15. Back to the LITENING... Personally, I would prefer a targeting pod on the cheek station as opposed to centerline. Sure, having ATFLIR on the cheek creates some FOV issues but it allows for a more diverse and expanded loadout by freeing up the centerline. The cheek station can only carry the ATFLIR or AIM-7/AIM-120 and by having a LITENING on centerline, you are losing the fuel tank or bombs that could be carried there. Money, supply and government contracts aside, I wonder why the Marine Corps prefers the LITENING on centerline. Maybe it is just for the increased FOV and they don't see much of a handicap by having it on centerline.
  16. Thank you for the response. Makes sense and is what I thought but was just looking for some official word.
  17. Yes, thank you. The argument and confusion is already in place and therefore the need for an official response from ED. Currently, they are replicating a 2006 US Navy Hornet but with the change to now include the LITENING, is ED now making a USMC Hornet because there are differences. From the last Hornet Mini-Update, it looks like work on implementing the LITENING has not started yet so it could still be a ways off, making the ATFLIR implementation even further out.
  18. Reading through the multiple threads in the forums on the upcoming LITENING, I don't see an ED response in regards to if the LITENING will be restricted to the centerline station only or if it will be fitted to the left fuselage station as well.
  19. Exactly...we purchased/paid for a representation of a 2006 US Navy Hornet...we don't have that yet and every detail matters. We recently had new skins added so someone is still working on the artwork. No reason that this is still an issue.
  20. The link provided to download gives a .rar file. Anyway to make this a .zip download? Thank you!
  21. Sorry, should have been a little more clear...I am asking about the actual units and if they would be modeled and placed next to the aircraft while on the ramp.
  22. With the Tomcat needing the air start and GPU for startup, will these be modeled and included?
  23. Your are right in that TrackIR has no influence on monitor refresh rate and GPU FPS output, however; to avoid the stuttering we see from the mismatch in monitor refresh rate, GPU FPS output and TrackIR refresh rate, they all must match or at least from my experience, a frame rate lock of 60 FPS alone with my monitor refresh left at 144Hz will get rid of the stutter. In that sense, they are all related to each other if you want to create the smoothest TrackIR experience possible.
  24. Does anyone know what is wrong with the DCS .cfg "maxfps" line to limit FPS? Using this would be the most simple solution but it's a mess. I have to set the maxfps line to 100 for the in-game FPS display to show 60 FPS so I don't know if I could trust that. Anything lower that 100 and the in game FPS shows 50... TrackIR has everything to do with this...it's why this thread exists. TrackIR has a refresh rate of 120Hz. Since nobody can really have the graphics turned up and sustain 120 FPS, we are trying to find the best way to lock FPS at 60. There are many threads on this topic and in those, people have isolated TrackIR as the stuttering problem by turning it off and getting smooth viewing with the mouse.
  25. Great information here everyone...thank you. Isn't VSYNC and a frame rate limiter redundant? With my monitor refresh rate set at 60Hz instead of it's native 144Hz, VSYNC would cap the FPS at 60 to match the refresh rate.
