[Official] SimShaker for Aviators
flybull replied to f4l0's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Andre - I just switched from 2.5.0 release to 2.5.1 Open Beta - The JetSeat works EXCEPT for the new SA342 Minigun variant. I reloaded model entries in the SSA application and re started, but can't get any action. Are you aware of this issue and is there a solution? Cheers, Dave -
update graphics driver?
-
Thanks FragBum... It turns out the issue was oculus. I opted out of the 'Beta' program and a new update (roll back) initiated. After that it works. Great relief. Thanks for your response

Update - 'Repair DCS" and updating NVIDIA drivers did NOT help Using an ASUS ROG 1080Ti

FIXED***Hi guys, Ive got a problem. Ive been running DCS with CV-1 for over 1 year, with no issues. Im currently running 2.5.0 Release version. When I started DCS today I got a white light inside my Rift and the monitor correctly displays the images. The HMD lenses are off. Ive tested the Rift with other Oculus software - from Oculus Home and it works fine. Ive tried to start DCS from Oculus Home and it will briefly show the hangar scene - before going black. Usual restart etc was not successful. Ive made no changes to my PC since the last time I ran DCS in VR (beside installing Far Cry 5). Does any one have any ideas, to help a thankful community member? Cheers Dave

F-14 May Development Update -- Campaigns & Content!
flybull replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Hey NineLine - "F-14, F-16, all my childhood movies are coming true" Mine too....but were gonna need an F-16A for that! Please! -
+1 for user selectable refresh rate option. Thanks HB

Dear Heatblur: You guys are all class! Thanks for the update - I love how you're creating an "experience" not just a stand alone module. The campaigns, Naval Assets, Jester AI and of course the Meteor OST Album - Well done. Cheers

OV-10D TACMAN http://www.mediafire.com/file/m297oa46t22p9na/OV-10_TACMAN.pdf

I did exactly that. Downloaded each document, one age at a time, and collated the relevant articles (disregarded the fluff) into 1 pdf document. Here is a link... http://www.mediafire.com/file/i7q9akhi20pnpft/Fighter_Weapons_Review_Articles.pdf enjoy!

Id prefer the simplicity of an analog cockpit UH-60A/L. N0 worries re documentation, easier to develop, looks better in VR (IMHO), classic vanilla 'Hawk. Id also love something with bite - AH-64. AH-1, OH-58D, MD-530G, etc..... How about an AH-64A!???? should be very little sensitive left in that......

Customer Service Thanks Andre for your customer service. Outstanding. Rapid solution to the problem. Great communication. I wont be without the Jetseat for too long!

Rweaves - Gulf War 1 had a significant number of A-A engagements My personal favourite though is Mid East 1982. Bekkaa Valley. IAF F-16s/F-15s vs Syria. Plenty of guns kills there. Total tally alleged to be circa 80.

DCS Helicopters - ED Internally developed rotary wing aircraft
flybull replied to flybull's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Hey barefoot - agree in full Problem is: Flight Simulation is a niche within the simulation community with driving sims and other genres being more popular. Within the niche flight sim community - DCS is a further niche - with P3D/XP having a much larger user base. Finally - within DCSW, we, the helicopter lovers are a smaller community yet again. This reality would put a developer in a difficult situation. They exist, after all, to make a profit. The resources to make a DCS level Longbow would be massive. I really do think that a machine like that would convert fixed wing pilots in droves to the helo world - but I'm sure ED have to weigh up where it is best to put their resources - to maximise return. Having said that, if it is a labour of love - and a developer WANTS a particular bird, profits not being the primary consideration - the world is the limit! If There was a DCS Apache - I reckon it would sell as much as a hornet. The only dudes that don't love helos, in RL or DCS - are those that haven't tried it! I really hope the OH-58 being modelled makes it to DCS. DCS is THE best platform for rotary simulation. A vanilla UH-60A/L 'hawk would be my preference over a later glass cockpit variant - id take ANY western military helicopter in a heartbeat. TO ED and all the developers producing/considering DCSW rotary assets: THANK YOU!! -
This from Wag's open letter: Right behind the Hornet, we have other modern, combat fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft ready for development within the Eagle Dynamics internal studio

I hope I'm not reading this incorrectly, but in Wag's open letter, this comment was made: "Right behind the Hornet, we have other modern, combat fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft ready for development within the Eagle Dynamics internal studio" The other helicopters we know about (Mi24 and BO-105) are done by EXTERNAL partners. This means that there is something else on the horizon for Helicopter Lovers! What are you wishing for? What is the speculation? There are mutterings of one of the developers from Gazelle being involved in an OH-58D. This is not conformed for DCS and is also an external partner. Razbam has hinted of MH-53, again not ED internal studio. I personally wish for the Dragon - i.e. AH-64. Any version. A large volume of technical data pertaining to AH-64D Block II systems etc is available....but heck it take an AH-64A. My second choice would be AH-1W Discuss:

JetSeat Issue Hi Andre Im having issues. There is no power light...I tried to follow the steps in the firmware reload procedure. After step 7, Im getting no response in Windows - but continue as per instructions. When I attempt step 10 selecting the v2_57.vkb file i do not get a final "OK" There are other cyrillic letters not as pictured in the guide. Ive attached an image. Can you please assist? Thank you. Dave

Ive been using the JetSeat and SimShaker for Aviators (USB) for approximately 6 months with Rift VR. I had some initial difficulty setting up - the customer service was rapid and effective. Thanks Andre. Yesterday - I inadvertently shut down the SSA app and went "flying" in the gazelle. the experience felt detached and sterile - I then realised the Jetseat wasn't on! The tactile sensations it provides - adds a significant layer of realism. As a RL rated helicopter pilot - I am familiar with the vibrations which are a significant phenomenon i.e. through ETL etc. I don't enjoy flying DCS without it - particularly with helicopters. I can't recommend this highly enough. Cheers

** F-14 Update! - F-14 Pilot Testing Session / Trip Report! **
flybull replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Thanks Heatblur - for the awesome update. Great to see you're using the Rift. I truly believe VR is the future of simulation - good to see yourselves and ED are embracing it. Seeing ultra detailed models of things like control sticks did have me worried about performance in VR. These worries are now gone! F-14 and Carrier ops has to be my most anticipated sim experience in 30 years. Thank you!
