  1. Hello, Could you please advise if HB are planning to implement oleo strut compression? For example, prior to releasing brakes before takeoff, the aircraft should compress the nose wheel strut upon thrust increase. The strut extends when brakes release. I suspect that modelling of the strut compression would be in conjunction with a broader (needed) improvement to ground handling characteristics. Thank again!
  2. Currently the LE Slat indication does not function as per NATOPS. We should see hashed box, currently we have “Slats retracted” (0 deg) indication. Could someone please indicate whether this is on the fix list? Thank you
  3. Please consider with pilot update. Thank you!
  4. G'day, Cant find a previous report for this. Version 1.8.6. (DSC 2.7) AoA Indicator wont display for F-14A-GR-135. Seem to work ok for F-14B. Any ideas? Thank you Dave
  5. Hello, I would like to initiate a discussion on the desirability of an AH-6J/MH-6J module for DCS - specifically a Polychop Simulations created module. With the experience gained on Gaz and OH-58, via SMEs connected to PC, they are well placed to take this on. Please refrain from comments like "you wont get any documentation" - I can neither confirm or deny the existence of supporting documentation for this module, For the purposes of this discussion lets ASSUME that PC could technically make this module.. IF we could have an AH/MH-6J......who would be interested?
  6. Hi @IronMikeThanks for a comprehensive update. Related to: Fixed RIO Airspeed indicator bugs not being able to be set. The pilots ASI bugs still function incorrectly - There is no use in having "settable" bugs if the bugs don't work as they should. Both bugs keep IMN as opposed toeing able to bug IAS. This has been reported in the past, is there any chance it can be corrected? Kind regards, Dave
  7. Document refers to integration of ATAS onto "A" model birds, there is very little commonality between an "A" model and a Block II D model. How about leaving the decision on weather it is technically "do-able" to actual SMEs?. There are numerous open-source references to FMS customers using ATAS. We all understand it was not done in US ARMY service, and ED may choose not to implement it due to historical accuracy reasons - but your post, is utter rubbish from a technical perspective. If ED has the relevant information - it could be done. Why do people talk so much crap about things they know nothing about? @kreisch et al: wearing your tag "ED Closed Beta Testers Team" does not grant you any credibility. Any forum user identifying association as part of ED's team should be held to higher standard in regard to presenting information. Just sayin'
  8. Just throwing my hat in the ring .....I would love ATAS (accurate or not.) As an aside, I have no idea why ED are stating a 2002 model, when their manual incorporates Change 5, 2005. It just says “2002” on the front cover.
  9. @ mods - could we resurrect this discussion and shift it to the AH-64 section. since the OP started this discussion 2007, VR has come to the fore, and provides the ability to overcome many of the issues described. how ED implements IHADDS and different FOVs between eyes remains to be seen.
  10. I get lower VR frame rates in the Kitty, than F/A-18, F-16 and increased stutters also. I think the cockpit detail and dual cockpits is the culprit. 7700k 1080Ti M.2 16GB RAM RIFT S Single Player only. Syria is the worst for me.
  11. I've brought this to HBs attention in the past (twice) and never received a reply.
  12. Hello, Apologies if this seems trivial, Im just trying to operate the Cat as precisely as possible to actual procedures. I was wondering if any SME can assist? I have reviewed multiple NATOPS references and can only find reference to wipe-out procedure before catapult launch in later volumes (DFCS equipped aircraft). Was a control wipe-out conducted on AFCS equipped (ie DCS simulated) aircraft? Does the sentence "when satisfied the aircraft is functioning correctly, salute.." imply the control wipeout? Thank you If possible, could you provide an example of the pilot>RIO verbal patter immediately pre launch? (post-checklist) Any other context, nuance, culture etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Dave
  13. Ok, ill admit it. I need to get my Top Gun on. Final Countdown was great n all - but I would love Top Gun VF-1/213 skins for the F-14A..... Screen accurate, works of art, no less. With the TOP GUN movie VF-1 squadron patch available in the logbook and the F-5 having a "Top Gun" movie MiG-28 skin - is it possible we could see official HB Top Gun skins? The Top Gun skins for the F-14B were pretty good, I must say. 90% of my F-14 hours were in one of these jets. Is that blasphemy? I feel a bit less like a "walt" in a fictitious jet. I know that sounds strange. Anybody else get that feeling sometimes, when simming (playing make believe)?
  14. @f4lo I D/Ld the latest beta from the link you provided - all seems to be functioning correctly. Thank you very much
  15. @f4l0 Hello. Im only able to get the F-14A working if I first run the F-14B each time I restart DCS. Ive tried both the release and beta versions. Do you have any ideas?
  16. @ironmike Thanks iron mike for your lengthy and considered reply to my post. I understands the points you make and have faith in HB that in the long term - everything promised will be delivered, and more. Would you please confirm the airspeed bug bug has been recognised and that will be rectified? Thanks for your assistance. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. @IronMike Hey there. I posted in the bugs sub forum, but please allow me to provide some feedback here also. Im a staunch advocate for HB and believe the F-14 to be the best simulation of any aircraft on PC in history (I've been around since the beginning of the hobby). We all waited patiently for the "A" with lots of anticipated fixes as well. Lots of fixes didn't eventuate. Some of these have been mentioned (ie Jester). For me - its the damn airspeed bugs. They dont work as intended. I feel the release is very under-cooked for HBs standards: After teasing the ALR-45 RWR, we get a placeholder -135 with ALR-67. There was one short teaser trailer - which teased liveries that we dont have access to. The liveries we DO have have issues (reported whiteness, generic flight suits/helmets) The initial release was far more impressive and complete There is no CV-59, and no news of it. Campaigns and other promised content? Things that excited me before the initial release, like the promise of "Dynamic Cockpits" are merely "wish list" items at this point. Please dont write me of as a "karen"...you asked for feedback here, and im giving you my considered, honest report. IMHO, as a single player only type that is most imperative is a fixed and greatly expanded JESTER. He should be giving speed/energy/hard deck info during ACM (as well as ACCURATE and timely threat indications) He should be doing other things too - like READING the checklists, telling the pilot when wings are moving in the break etc.. All these things should be pretty straight forward, as someone mentioned here earlier - you pretty much need a human RIO now. I had hoped today would be one of celebration and joy with the F-14A, the ONE. In stead I feel flat and underwhelmed. I hope none of this sounds like im angry Thank you for listening Dave TL:DR. Unhappy. Need: 1. expanded, competent JESTER who does everything mentioned above 2. please fix the airspeed indicator bug bug. With a cherry on top. 3. Forrestal tomorrow.
  18. I just tried this. As with OP, x bleed start of L eng was not possible. Using 80%N2 on R and selecting "Airstart-ON" did allow me to motor L eng. I was not able to disconnect Ground Air supply - as there was no response to my request. (Chief couldn't hear me?)
  19. To my all time favourite developer. Thank you for the A model, I love it. I have a respectful question if I may: How come small things (at least to my mind) like incorrectly functioning ASI bugs, have not been addressed? This issue was reported and acknowledged a long time ago and repeatedly falls through the cracks. Its my understanding that the sped bug was set before every take off and approach to the desired reference speed. The bugs are present, adjustable with the knob, but don't function as intended. I continue to sing your praises on social media and amongst friends - heck im an HB aficionado, but this tiny little thing the ASI speed bug, bug, bugs me now. Would you please have it fixed? Cheers and kind regards, Dave
  20. I think Rustbelt was alluding to wanting Jester actually verbalising the Take Off and Landing checklists - which would be an incredible addition.
