  1. I looked at one today live. It has a very noticeable kink. The pic didn't do it justice unfortunately. Nothing smooth about the curve at all. Posted here: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=217205
  2. L_SHift + L_Alt + B
  3. This aircraft flew and landed here 43 years ago approximately and has been here ever since. I sat in it in 74/75 when there were just 3 old wartime hangers very dimly lit and almost not heated with no staff around at all. I recall the "no floor" of the Spitfire had me shaking my head back then. I climbed around in a Lancaster bomber back then as well. I couldn't talk the lad into letting me even open the canopy but he allowed me inside the ropes for a pic. Here's the scoop on it: https://ingeniumcanada.org/aviation/collection-research/artifact-supermarine-spitfire-lf-mk-ix.php
  4. That trick was foiled by the latest release. ;) The mirror is off whenever it is raining now. That makes sense to an extent.
  5. No sorry, I only had one 8 Mb track left and it was a solo flight. My record regarding fuel to date is 340 miles over 2 full hours. My wingman and flight is calling bingo at about 1/3 of that flight. That required climbing to 20,000 feet though. I think I could maybe make 400 miles if I could find the best altitude.
  6. Since the last 2 updates including today's, in light cruise conditions the RPM drops off for no reason. The lever actually drops back as well. Very strange. Behavior is the same in both the beta and the stable 2.5 One can just barely move the lever in any direction and it comes back up. I happens at different rpm lever positions which to me rules out a dead spot in the controller. It almost seems as though DCS is losing it's focus or something although every other function continues to work properly. I use a TM hotas wartog setup with my own script which always works perfectly. I set my rpm axis in game and not via script as I do with all axis. I originally thought it was altitude dependent however it does it at any altitude over time while cruising especially if I change altitude to a lower altitude. much at all. I never skips a beat during testing with the device analyser. Nothing gets out of place ever during that phase of my testing of the controller. It sure gets annoying. If it was the controller it should worsen over time but it does not. It's been doing that for over a week. I venture a guess that it is a bug. Please look into it. Any ideas?
  7. I put together a short mission with 6 ground targets from 3000ft to 18,000 and down to the destination. I originally had music triggered at various points but for sharing, I thought I better remove those so I replaced them with some verbal instructions as you go. Cold start to parking at the destination. Spitfire Caucus mountain and valley ground.miz
  8. Tbilisi-Lochini has both runways labelled as 31L and 13R. The more northerly one should be the opposite. I am referring to the red taxiway signs at the hold points of the runways. They are not the same bearing and so it makes a difference. Mind you the ATC just says to go to runway 13.
  9. I was messing with triggers and ended up with the best flight of my life. I had to share. You are tasked with destroying 7 fuel trucks at 7 different locations over a 340 mile flight along the coast and over the mountains. Fuel conservation is top priority. This will test your Navigation, Engine and Fuel Management as well as Slipper Tank function with some altitude cooling along with some oil pressure influences. Stable or Beta Mountain tops3.miz
  10. I am running it (2d popup) on my warbirds. In my opinion it is absolutely worth it. For me. Mind you, I am only running the 2D popup version since the other version fits nothing I own. It gives a lot of useful information and I just scratched the surface yesterday. It took me about an hour into the flight until I was able to use some of the functions. It took me through the clouds and right over top of the landing procedure at the runway. I call that excellent value for the money. It is faster than using the F10 map. I'll have to read the manual when I find it. Handy Hint: Name your waypoints in the mission editor, 4 characters. I used Way1 Way2 etc. Those names will appear on the moving maps. Buy it at your own risk and not on my say so. 3 bucks from bonus money 7 bucks all in. It's a no brainer for me.
  11. I appears as if my AI wingmen are not using the fuel I gave them. They run out of fuel at least a half hour sooner than I do while flying in formation. Not to mention they never seem to be able to land.
  12. I see. It's a bit of a letdown after an hour of flight to get to that point. Especially since I know it has worked before. I fly with the fuel pump on just after startup as is proper. I wonder if I had my throttle on a different layer. Ahhh I won't give it another thought. Bug reported. I have done my duty. edit: If the bug still exists after the next stable release, I will report it again if it occurs. When there are no more bugs, I will shut up.
  13. I acknowledge it is a minor detail once you're aware but for the best simulated Spitfire in the world, there is still room for improvement. I am simply reporting bugs which if repaired would make it perfect from my perspective. That is what beta testing is. I have beta tested since win95/chicago. I understand why they have done it this way but I hope it is temporary. The behaviour in this department of the tanks and bombs is not properly "Simulated". There is only one bug that really bothers me and this one isn't it but it's still not ok. The video taught me nothing new at all. I fly the Spit 2- 4 hours a day and have for a long long time. It is a simulator. Of course it affects the experience.
  14. ok thanks. I may have messed up then and put the wrong frequency in my B channel. I haven't done that in a while. I'll verify tomorrow. It is an hour and a half mission I have been flying. edit: I put in 138 instead of 141 which makes no sense at all. Good to know the comms in the 430 don't interface with it even maybe. I'll sleep better now.
  15. If you'd like a ride or a tour of a B-25 check this out. https://www.azcaf.org/location/kingston-tour-stop/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=display&utm_campaign=FLOVT_Kingston_Display
  16. Ignore. I may have messed up now that I know there are no comms functionality yet. One could not dial it up to 141 Mhz was all. The stock radio in the Spit likely still works. I'll try it tomorrow.
  17. Thanks. I just grabbed it and took a flight with it. There is no virtual cockpit version for the Spitfire. It was cheap enough for the 2d version. I couldn't drag it to my other monitor. I.E. out of the game window which would be handy. Someday it will be good and I'll be glad I got in on the deal.
  18. Since I am already familiar with the 430, 530 and 1000 Garmins from another great Sim, I may be interested in purchasing the NS 430. I have some questions I need answered first though. 1. Can anyone confirm if there are key-binds for the NS 430 or is it only mouse driven? 2d for warbirds or 3d for warbirds is where my immediate interest lies. 2. What is the likelihood of there being a 530 available for the aircraft? I only want to purchase this type of add on once. 3. Will a 3d unit be available for the warbirds someday? If so an ETA would help. 4. Can it be dragged outside the DCS window I.E. on a side monitor that is not configured as surround? 5. Can it be resized in another window or full screen on my side monitor?
  19. Does 100% compatibility mean that it uses the Target Software 100% the same? Target is the only reason I use TM sticks and other products.
  20. The TM Warthog throttle is great. The stick may very well break your heart over time. If you intend to use the Target software which gives the availability of up to three layers yielding easily over 100 or 2 or 3 possible different bindings then this one combo that can't be beat. (for the first year). After a year or so (approximately 1000 hours for myself), the stick can get sticky. The T.160000M also works nicely in conjunction with the TM Hotas Warthog Throttle and you can use a button on that stick to activate an additional layer. I use it as a side stick in conjunction with the proper warthog stick for some extra buttons and at times when my stick is waiting for replacement it makes a decent stand in. As far as sticks go, If not using the Target Software, I really have to wonder why anyone would buy such a short lifespan piece of crap. Don't get me wrong, I Love my TM stuff AND Target but that annual "ring sting" of having to buy or repair yet again is starting to get really aggravating. If you want to see the power of the TM stuff, check out Homefries stuff. Amazing scripts. If I was simply setting up my stick in-game instead of with Target, I wouldn't give you 2 cents for the TM stick for heavy use. Thrustmaster put your stuff on bearings instead of plastic pins running in a plastic bore with a plastic cup and ball and a square plastic on plastic on plastic with tiny little wires running through tiny little spaces which are often stripped improperly where they may have just a couple strands out of 10 or so actually soldered. I could go on and on. Over the years I have used the TM Wartog combo, I have had and repaired a few problems. It can be a real bear. The Target GUI which makes scripts without having to write code is an easy thing to learn if you've got tons of time as I do and that is the number 1 reason I will continue to stick with Thrustmaster. 3 " extension for the stick is recommended. This halves the effort required to move the stick and doubles the length of travel thereby doubling the accuracy of your gunsight. ;) Thrustmaster Warthog Stick and throttle is a Love/Hate relationship for me. Would I buy a third stick when this second one goes. Yeah, I would. *Hangs head*
  21. I someone made the top part of the sensor with the wire attached, they could make an awful lot of money. The whole bottom section can be available from your distributer they say. That is pretty much a lie.
  22. flip it over. remove the 2 phillips screws that hold the top part of the sensor into the unit. It will leave the bottom section of the sensor and expose where you can re-solder the wires. I couldn't do it with my bad eyes and big fingers. I had to buy another. Someday if I can buy the parts...
  23. Perfect confirmed just now. I was able to run the top main tank dry and a couple gallons from the bottom main and then switch to the drop tank. Like I have been dreaming of doing. This leaves me in the perfect dog fighting position if I drop tanks while giving me 30 or 40 minutes over the target area on the drop tank before switching back to the main for the trip home. Thank you indeed!
  24. I am addict as well. No apologies. Since we got bombs, I have been ground pounding exclusively. One part of flight simming I never bothered with in my life. I never got too far in the campaign before but now, I think I am ready. I have to stop being impatient myself. No sim time yesterday. I'm sshhaakkiinngg all over. Where's my spit?
  25. I dilute regularly as well and did throughout this mission. Oil pressure always hovered around 90. I turned up the temp to 30c for the mission as well. CW version tested thoroughly today over 8 hrs (again lol) The problem is the Fuel Pressure valve is not actually supplying any pressure. I just finished an hour and a half flight (cut short by a rude mountain). I set the temp for mission at 30c. At cruising at 19000 ft the pressure light came on. It took a while at that altitude 4 psi and 2650. Turning the vale on did not cure it. The valve moves but it does not cure the problem. Only losing altitude until atmospheric pressure is sufficient again does it appear to want to run again. I wobbled the snot out of the pump as it sank in altitude and it finally recovered at 17,000 feet. I had the filter in operation since I had forgotten it. Wasn't that. I also had the Supercharger in M.S. for maximum fuel economy. tested and not that. I tried it filter open. same. I tried it with the Supercharger in F.S. same. I dropped the empty drop tank (and sadly my bombs with it) to try that. No change. Main fuel valve was on the whole time and the drop tank fuel tank was off since I wanted to save my bombs for the mountain. It falters and the low fuel pressure light comes on in every case. It takes a half a minute or so before the light comes on after you notice something is off. Finally I just kept taking runs at the top of the mountain and then diving to get fuel pressure again and then running for the roof again. I did record it all. 27 gig worth. I am not going to upload it. One is not supposed to turn the fuel pressure on unless it is a lit light due to the fact that it negates the pressure sealing capability of there "self sealing" tanks so I don't unless I see the light. The light definitely comes on. None of this happened yesterday in a similar mission on the same mountain but with the temp set to 20c. as the only real change. I actually did a repair just before the mission as well. It did say it removed some obsolete files and did it's thing. That is a critical bug and needs to be fleshed out. That is enough flight time for me today.
