  1. Everything has improved since the early release version. It would be easier if you listed what concerned you before and we could respond to that. Overall it is getting more and more realistic in it's behavior. Cooling is solved making dogfighting possible I suppose. Wing breaking is less. It is getting more and more fine tuned as I see it.
  2. I used to often run at 0 boost 1900. not now. But we have drop tanks so my fuel conservation days a few now anyway. I made 2 hrs. I made 400 miles. Now I am cooking with grease and rockin' the throttle. I wanted snow so I lowered the temperature of the day. Super cool city at -10C. Not good. I am finding -2C tolerable but a lot of work diluting oil. At least a person could dogfight well in it now. It is an improvement for sure. Thanks to those that are making this Spitfire better and better.
  3. Loadouts seem to be saved to each task separately such as cas or cap etc. If you change your task you will have to make new loadouts for that task. This behavior is normal just as an fyi when you run into it.
  4. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=65901&page=4 Fleshpiston posted the link on page 4. His second post there has the right version.
  5. I see no obvious changes.
  6. Interesting. Thanks for the info. It was Batumi. I'll make some changes then. Thanks a lot for the quick reply.
  7. I am the one making the mission. I should be able to choose a runway just like my parking space, especially with no wind. I haven't found a work-around yet other than taking the flight over a round-about route or starting and landing at different airports. I did a pile of searches with no luck. Can we specify a different runway for takeoff? If not can we get that option installed? If not is there any kind of workaround for that? It is not critical. I am not complaining. I may just have to redesign portions of my Campaign. I fully expect, this cannot be done in ME which is fine. Any help is appreciated. A yes or no if it is possible and if so an explanation of how to do it would be the best reply I could ask for and much appreciated. Either way, I could put it to rest and continue on. Thanks.
  8. The oiling system is "Dry Sump" meaning there is no or little oil in the oil pan. The scavenge pumps are at the front of this shallow oil pan. There is also an accumulator which will continue to supply oil to the engine while inverted until the accumulator runs out. Likely about 10 seconds. The 109 is the same. That is what needs to be determined. How fast does the oil flow back out of the accumulator? How much oil does it hold? Any engine will run without oil for a short time. Is there a need to do that for more than 10 seconds? The engine may not die in less than a minute but huge damage is being done once the accumulator runs out. This is a matter of some seconds.
  9. Bind your oil dilution to something very handy. I put it on my MSD (Down). The dilution cover is on MSU (Up). These days it's hard to keep it warm enough to keep the oil pressure down if you are just cruising. Temperature control is super important as has been said. Mind you, I like snow and altitude. ;) My key to landing success is to drop flaps and gear and trim up at about 120 MPH early. That gets things close. She stalls around 70 MPH depending on the load. 100 MPH over the fence. I taxi at 1100 rpm prop full rpm. Even that requires a touch of brakes once in a while. Patience. Pitot heat is often not considered at first. It is a must to turn that on generally. I turn the dash lights on right off the pin. Bind the rad flap to something. You may need to open it easily if it gets too warm. Carb filter will slow you down. Use that on the ground. Most of those things do not get done when starting a takeoff from runway start. Takeoff assistance is something I turn off right away. Hope some of that helps. I Love this aircraft more than any other.
  10. I downloaded and uninstalled and installed the newest Target version yesterday version release date was July 23 2018. It is a wee bit nicer and I report no new problems from doing so. This pic is encouraging. I see 2 additional stick pics. F-16 and F-18 https://support.thrustmaster.com/en/product/hotaswarthog-en/
  11. I believe it would work better if you assigned it as an axis in game. Rudder.
  12. I haven't flown the Dora although the cockpit looks similar to the 109. It's been a long while since I've flown the P-51 and the 109. Fun. Originally it took me a week to get the P-51 started back in the day. It's like a limo compared to the Spitfire. I will certainly be flying the P-51 more over time. I had no problem take off and landing the 109 which I found easier than the Spitfire. The 109 was so silly-powerful, I couldn't justify flying it much. I will revisit it again someday maybe. "too easy" comes to mind there for sure. I find the Spitfire the most challenging and it's control profile possibilities more advanced than some warbirds. It has off and on where off and on should be, unlike "toggle" of some others. That bugs me to no end. Regarding warbird realism, the Spitfire is top of the heap for me. One has to embed one's brain into the depths of what is actually going on mechanically and aerodynamically. What boost? What RPM? Dilute? Open rad flap? Close? Supercharger F.S. or M.S. Watch the temps, watch the oil pressure? Calibrate this, set that. All while sitting on your chute with your feet in the only spot for them as you strap in and look around at the world through decent visibility. That doesn't say that I am locked into only the Spitfire. It is nice to actually have to fly the aircraft from time to time. Compared to other business class jet sims where flight plans and the auto-pilot button are the norm, the Spitfire in DCS is as extreme to the other end of the spectrum as one can go except for maybe the Yak 52? Hmm. I Love all the aircraft. Today the Spitfire tends to be parked and ready more often than not. It took over from my F-15 which was a daily ride for a long while which took over from the P-51. I am sure I must have bought it on day one. I am only now just starting to learn air to air dogfights. I can't believe I am still learning with this aircraft. It is endless. I have only now started lifting the tail up when rolling for takeoff. It works well.
  13. I haven't had an issue in days. Well done guys. Very Nice!
  14. "Bingo" does not mean "empty" for clarification. Ejecting does.
  15. I just flew 400 miles over 2 hours and 10 minutes. I had 3 gallons of fuel remaining. All the rest of my flight had ejected by 1 hour and 10 minutes in. My main guage had just barely started moving. I may be using my flight better. I'll keep trying later on. @nineline were you in level flight? Altitude? Climbing involved? Maneuvers?
  16. I only turn the valve on if I want to cure a hangover quick. Leave it off and it will auto-regulate it seems at this point anyway. I cycle it on and off at startup as well as the tank pressure and the drop tank fuel valve just in case. It is workable.
  17. It orbits left away from the base.
  18. Yes definitely orbiting. Nice!
  19. It seems to be going straight in the beta after 2 min. I'll give it more time and let you know shortly
  20. Track file attached I was able to get them to "bingo" in just under the 5 Mb limit. They started hitting "Bingo" in 35 minutes. I switched to my drop tank right after initial startup and was still on the drop tank. I can easily go 2 hours with the tank and onboard fuel. 35 minutes is nowhere near "Bingo" They should have hit "Bingo" after well over an hour with the tank. Track file and mission file attached for your consideration. Thanks. Tom Mountain tops3.miz bingo 35 min.trk
  21. The mirror needs a bit of work yet to be sure but I use it regularly on all the time and glance as well. The mirror is black whenever it rains which is understandable to a point. I kind of feel that if we can't see the image (even rain distorted) in the rain then we shouldn't see the mirror either. I am sure over time we will have proper images and maybe even the mirror in glance mode will react properly to the track ir when you lean side to side which it does not do at present. I can live with the black mirror in the rain but I keep moving my head to see around the tail fin in glance mode but the view does not move with my head in "Glance". It'll all come in time right?
  22. Thanks to you fine folks who always motivate me. I cured it permanently by putting a set screw through the twist axis. I tried removing that axis from my target script. No dice. I tried removing it from my lua(whatever).diff file but of course that took away my rpm control. This solution works perfectly since it no longer can twist. 3 turns of the screw to the left and it is back to stock. I almost super glued it but found my glue had hardened luckily enough. I have said it before but I will reiterate again. When using the T160000M with the TM hotas wartog the axis are duplicated but not in the same place. I.E. the throttle on the T1600000 may not be the same axis as the throttle on the hotas if you use it in a script and if I remember correctly there are problems if used outside the script with duplicate axis as well. It is definitely not a fault of DCS really. Thanks for the confirmations guys. It saved me a lot of time. Tom
  23. Got it Ok. It was my fault sort of. My T160000M twist axis is the same as my TM Hotas Wartog throttle pitch lever (rpm). I knew some axis conflicted but yeah. Problem solved. I won't use it to look around any more even though I wasn't really using the twist at all, I must move it enough at times. I reproduced it 5 times in a row once I noticed the first time. Thanks guys! Oddly in another sim, I use that twist for nosewheel steering all the time although I don't include it in the script. It does not conflict that way. In DCS as stated, I do not include axis in the script either. It always has axis conflicts. I knew it did but forgot about the twist. I guess it's my problem if it bothers no one else. No worries. The moral of the story is not to use the twist axis' (or any axis) on the second stick? Small .trks attached. I wracked my brain for a week on that. ha ha boost3.trk boost4.trk boost2.trk
  24. I have two separate settings one for each. They are identical. I'll take a flight and see if I can get a .trk under 5 Meg. It takes a while before the issue arises. Another periodic issue is occasionally the boost guage stutters and jiggles when the supercharger kicks into hi gear. This is new from the last 2 updates as well. It certainly could be me. This is why I asked. I have to check my slider on my other stick since I noticed it was halfway. I'll report back if I can do it under 5 Mb
