I notice no one seems to use any locking lever switches in their builds. I'm wondering why, I just got some from digikey. And boy are they amazing. If you're not familiar with locking lever switches, they're switches that you have to pull up on in order to move. If you look around most cockpits all the switches that aren't the basic teardrop shape are probably locking lever.

You can always build your own, it's really easy. Just pull out the mainboard from an old joystick you have laying around or get one at a thrift store for $5 (I assume Bulgaria has second hand stores) find a suitable box. Electronics enclosures are nice for this then you can drill and mount rotaries and switches. Then wire each switch like it was wired in the old stick. We could also strike up a deal and I could make you one if your interested.

X52 - replacing stick with a "button box"
Braeden108 replied to sea2sky's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Oh yeah it's possible! It's my bread and butter. Super easy too, all you gotta do is take the positive with that goes to each switch, solder it onto your switch then solder another wire across your switch to ground. (could be from ground to vcc, I've never tested doesn't much matter though switches are really simple) -
You're welcome sir Have fun in VR, and if you have any other questions about JoytoKey PM me and I'll do my best to answer.
-
True, but JoytoKey is a really easy to use program with very low impact. It will even start on startup ((I think, I may have set that up) but once its set to do so you rarely ever think about it. You can ever set it up to chance its control lay outs based on which program you;re using. I swear I'm not sponsored.

Give Joy2Key a try: http://joytokey.net/en/download It allows you to bind keyboard and mouse functions to your controllers. You can bind your mouse wheel settings to it and it has an auto repeat setting. Good program. I use it to make my throttle a web development machine, with copy paste, enter, control k, tab control, on all of the buttons. Though I don't have a Warthog, I have a modded T-flight so I'm not 100% sure it will work with your Warthog.

Try using a standard armored unit like a T-72 and setting their skill to excellent.

I don't have anything constructive to contribute. But that picture is hilarious.

Opinion time: What aircraft has the best control set up?
Braeden108 replied to Braeden108's topic in Chit-Chat
Hell, I'd accept talk about good controls on a tractor, Or the best joysticks. Which I'd say is a custom cougar set up with 12 bit hall effect axies, and a 14-18 inch extension.I just like human interface devices. You could say I'm a control freak. -

Me too,, I'd like to fly the F-35 just because it's avionics are the A-10's on DARPA grade steriods -
Opinion time: What aircraft has the best control set up?
Braeden108 replied to Braeden108's topic in Chit-Chat
I am amazed the F-15 is analogue. I hear there are things called hydraulic computers. Does the f-15 use one? Explains the lack of autopilot. I personally find the g limited to be one of the more valuable parts of the M2000's fbw system, because when I need I can jam the stick all the way back and the plane will hold its self at the edge of its envelope. Granted letting the plane fly itself in sim is a little less awesome but if I found myself strapped into a jet facing down a guy who was trying to kill me like I shat in his Cheerios... I'd take fbw. -
In your humble opinion which aircraft has the best controls, best looking best working, best feeling. It's all good. I think the F-16 takes the cake, non-moving pressure sensitive stick, and the best looking throttle out there. It also has a really cool Off-Mil power-burner detent system.

Moon shot missle 1.5.5

That's just the new R-27EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEER -
I think there is a CCRP/CCIP mode selector in the profile page. I think this tells the aircraft which mode this profile is for. Perhaps try changing it to CCRP.

Well none right now. I've just seen guys with great switches, Hansolo has switches out of a Gazelle and an A-10A throttle. You (Deadman) have knobs and switches out of aircraft. Do you guys just get lucky on Ebay? Though if I had to choose an aircraft to get parts from it's probably be the F-14, A-10, Mi-24 (there's still hope in my heart that we'll get the Hind one day)

I don't have plans to build an Viggen pit, no time money or space. But building a crt display sounds like a lot of fun. Though I do realize I put this in the home cockpits area. It probably should be in input output

This is not a rabbit hole I should go down... But I feel old oscilloscopes are basically set up for this. You just have to set the vertical and horizontal sweep to a known value than modulate the voltage on the scopes input based on the image you want to display. Easier said than done. But its better than starting from a naked tube. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Sencore-Wide-Band-Oscilloscope-PS148A-Powers-On-AS-IS/332040740474?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D38530%26meid%3Dec7b594476df42d9a053c9beb59d226a%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D381726368204

Sorry for the clickbaity title but I couldn't put a serious title on the because it's nothing more than a pipe dream. So the AJS-37 was announced today. I couldn't help but notice that glorious cathode ray tube proudly and prominently in the center of the panel. https://scontent-sea1-1.xx.fbcdn.net/t31.0-8/15168794_1804975513058452_7578342252096843222_o.jpg And I thought to myself... You can get cathode ray tubes out of old oscilloscopes. You can wire the electromagnets into an analog X and Y signal... You know, simple stuff. Not many questions here I just wanted to plant that idea into the backs of your heads. Because deep down you know you'd rather have a high voltage tube in your pit than a little LCD screen. https://www.etsy.com/listing/488001299/brimar-cathode-ray-tube?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_b-electronics_and_accessories-audio-stereos_and_home_audio&utm_custom1=6f35f81b-0ade-4152-a65d-3919b261c4a4&gclid=CjwKEAiAyO_BBRDOgM-K8MGWpmYSJACePQ9CPv_qPwL3GEGkYdESwobsAZQYLtdxQK8i8jsCJlsM2xoCB_zw_wcB Not too expensive either.

That's awesome, send word my way if you do. I'm very interested

I've heard many people here talk about finding military surplus switches on the cheap. Where's a good place to start looking? I'm also curious about how these things even come on the market because as far as I know these items are somewhat restricted. I hear you can't go to a boneyard and say I was a 1TL1-2 because they can't sell to the public.

I already bought the nano, it was for a different project. I will look into that, thanks again Sokol!
-
I'm pretty sure I can use an arduino nano for MMjoy but I want to make sure and find out if anyone has any pinouts or not. As far as I know the nano is just a leonardo minus a few features like a power jack(?) Though it appears the nano has more analog pins than the leonardo. It also uses the ATMEGA328P.

Whow those look great Deadman 52 hours a week? I see where you get your name.
