  1. Sometimes when I'm doing some spirited flying I'll get the gimbal roll notice on my TGP. I know what this means, it means my TGP has it's knickers in a twist. Normally I just jam the stick to once side and do the only "I'm not fooling around right now" alieron roll I ever do. But I'm wondering is there a more elegant way of unwinding my TGP? Or do I get to do barrel rolls knowing I have the backing of the airforce and a plethora of engineers?
  2. Rebind the key, make it page up or something.
  3. Goblin, that is a thing of beauty.
  4. Hahaha thats awesome, I'm very jealous. How do you get your hands on such things? Also I assume you have a kick ass collection
  5. Hansolo, how did you find those switches an information?
  6. Lucky you! Heres what I'm planning to put on mine, radar (for the M2000 FC3) Autopilot mode, steerpoint mode, cockpit light is a big one I say. I'm going to replace radar with light I think. Also my VFS switches are variable function switches (got a better name?) So i can make them waht ever I want in game. Eject and master arm might be something you want too, master caution silence could be nice too. https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=147259&d=1472369325 And might I reccomend locking lever switches? They're a little more than standard but they add a really nice feel. You don't use them on every function, just the ones you dont wanna bump. I'm planning on using 2 position on-on locking lever for landing gear 3 position on-on-on for my flaps and 2 position on-off-momentary. Thats a switch that locks into the off position and is momentary in the on. I plan to use those for the engines. http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/nkk-switches/M2012LL3W01/360-2568-ND/1046919 and if you want to go the realistic but pricey option you can go milspec. http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/honeywell-sensing-and-productivity-solutions/1TL1-2D/480-2193-ND/1248723 (I'm a switch nut) Also I've never used DCS-bios before. But isn't arduino easier? https://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=147259&d=1472369325
  7. Man, you guys are awesome! Thanks for the info, and I will definiatly keep my eyes out for surplus now. Also I will totally 3D model anything you want I know autodesk inventor pretty well. Maybe if you have a 3d printer we could work something out like I model a bunch of stuff for you and you print a like 2 things for me? Also that panel is looking pretty damn pretty how are you planning on making it?
  8. I'm not looking for any specific switch. I'm more just looking for fun, I'm a but of a switch nut. Besides, the switches in the A-10C run for $50 each. The magnetically held ones are shy of $1000 each. So if I find info on the Gazelle's switches chances are they're out of my price range
  9. They're $25,000 a pop. I hope they don't miss.
  10. I've done a little digging myself. It's looking like Aerospatiale (or some variation on that them) makes their own switches. At least it seems that way on one of their passenger aircraft.
  11. Pretty sure the FC3 planes can detect IR launches. Infact I know they can because people have launched manpads, heaters, and strelas at me.
  12. This is so cool, I'd really love to implement something like this on my next throttle. I'd love to have some gear lights near my gear switch.
  13. You can get rid of the map graphic too, (something I do almost all the time) you can do this by pressing OSB 20 which has MAP/AUTO on it by default. Press it a few times and the map will go away.
  14. I'm taken aback be the beauty of this cockpit, both on the part of Polychop and Aerospatiale. I'm a bit of a switch nut, and I think the switches in the Gazelle are some of the nicest I've ever seen. I was wondering if the devs or anyone has any information on these switches, such as who makes them, what they are and so on.
  15. I saw a video my friend made inside the Gazelle, I instantly fell in love with the switches. Now the Honeywells inside the A-10 look a little dull. I doubt I'll ever buy them, but does anyone have any info on the switches used in the Gazelle?
  16. Whow, those are some beautifully done models
  17. That's a beautiful thing, if you tear it down much at all would you do an engineering student a solid and take lots of pictures? I'm really interested to see the details of how they're constructed.
  18. Am I crazy for remembering that the DCS Ka-50 used to have MWS? I remember being aware of missile launches back in the days before DCS World.
  19. Also if you have any more questions about the A-10 feel free to message me here or on steam under the name Breedus. I'd be more than happy to help.
  20. Don't worry too much about this. You'll know your mav is locked when the cross uncages ( I think this is the right word) from where it typically is on the screen. You can see it oscillate rapidly when locked. I typically press lock then fire, back and fourth until the mav actually fires. Which fires it as soon as I have a good lock, and not before. However to answer your question, the size of the gap in the cross when the mav is locked indicates how big of target the mav is locked too. I've locked up bunkers before and the gap is as wide as the bunker is on my screen. A smaller target will have a smaller gap. Now understand when I say target I don't mean the target you're shooting at, I mean the mav's target. The mav might lock the whole tank, or the mav might lock part of the tank. The missile doesn't know what it is you're shooting at (But the CBU-97's BLU-108's do. But that's a different post) so it see's something lighter or darker than the background and locks it. At least this is my guess, I'm no expert.
  21. How did you make the top plates for you switch panels in the background? The plates on top of your switch boxes with the words? They look really good.
  22. I say no to these helicopters. I feel they have no real purpose in DCS because the ground AI is not fleshed out very well. Personally, I'd rather see your excellent development skills go towards aircraft like the Mi-24, Mi-28, AH-1 or the AH-64 (if there is a god on that last one.) If this were Prepar3d or Flight Sim I'd say sure, because those games are more about flying. DCS is about fighting.
  23. So F/A-18 pilots still have to hook and unhook their leg harnesses? Also damn good job with this info
  24. Moonshine, hogs, hay. So the Republic of Georgia isn't that different from the state of Georgia after all. I can't wait for the day that DCS has the level of realism that when you land after ejecting you'll be chased off by and old woman swinging a stick because you broke her chicken coop. Hang on, I just watched like 20 minutes of this and now I have thoughts. Simpler times were better my ass. I wake up at 10:00 am and roll out of bed and end up in a Starbucks down the street where some snotty 22 year old art student barista wont give me my damn coffee when I ask for a large until I utter the magic word venti. Do you know what Tsutsa did in the morning? She got out of her straw bed before the sun even set to shovel literal shit onto a field. That's her day. The highlight of my week is strapping into a virtual aircraft and bombarding her country. Do you know the highlight of her week? Killing a pig, cooking it and eating it outside in the snow while drinking shitty ass vodka that was made in a still older than her. I will take a snotty ass barita over a wagon load of Yuri's dinner from last month.
  25. I was watching a documentary about the F-105, an F-105 pilot said you could hear the other pilots coming because they'd make a clinking noise. This clinking noise was the sound of their "heel spurs" and they liked it because it made them sound like a John Wayne style cowboy. These "spurs" obviously weren't for kicking horses, they were hooks that attached to the leg restraint system on the ejection seat. When the pilot ejected it would pull their legs into the seat so you didn't have to be called stumpy. The issue with system became apparent when a foreign pilot had a radio miscommunication. I don't know what the original message was but the message the pilot misheard was that he was on fire. So he did the natural thing and bailed out of his aircraft. However he forgot to unhook his legs from the seat as he jumped out the side of the jet. And his F-105 then had a "foreign flag" on the side. Long explanation aside, are any of you embued with the obscure knowledge of how a modern pilots legs are held down to the ejection seat as he or she makes a rapid exit?
