I'm not sure if this is a big or not, but I notice (well notice, this actually caused me to nearly crash on take off and my friend actually did biff it) thqt the controls are very very sensitive when the wheels are down. I opened up the controls viewer and my direct input bug was moving normally but the fly by wire bug was allllll over the place. But when I put the wheels up everything was fine.

Great work man, I really love those master caution lights. Making them out of key tags is brilliant! How did you get it so the monitor could be right up against the panel, and have it so the switch could be in the panel? Did you cut the screen?

Think you could use a little GAU stress relief. Good luck out there

Landing gear lights on throttle
Braeden108 replied to Braeden108's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Out of curiousity how do people run their lights in their simpits? DCS bios? Helios? -
I'm wondering how hard it would be to put some red/green LESs on my throttle next to my gear switch and have them be programmed to turn on and off when the in sim gear lights turn on and off. Im thinking of using my arduino to do this but this chip would also be running mmjoy. I'm not sure it can do both though. I do have another chip but it runs at 8 mhz

Ka-50 ABRIS encoder question
Braeden108 replied to Braeden108's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
What are these lua settings? I was going to go with 15 pulses because Leo Bodnard sells one the does 15 ppr with built in push button. And unfortunately I lack the time and money to build a pit (but not the desire). I'm simply building the abris encoded and push buttons into my throttle. As I had a few buttons left in my matrix. Here's a CAD drawing https://forums.eagle.ru/picture.php?albumid=1271&pictureid=8332 -
So I was spending my short life looking at aircraft panel fasteners, I learned that the A-10 uses DZUS D5 series fasteners. These aren't screws. They're something much cooler, they're quarter turn fasteners. http://www.southco.com/en-us/d5 This means that in order to take them out all you have to do is rotate the fastener 90 degrees and out it comes. So I was in the A-10 flying around distributing various organs and bodily fluids of multitudes of Russian tankers across the fields of The Republic of Georgia. And that's when my world was turned upside down, my tranquil murderous zen state was broken by the angle of the fasteners holding the panels on inside the A-10, they were random. Random as though they were some palty screw. Not a glorious DZUS D5 series quarter turn fastener. Had Eagle Dynamics not been haphazardly assuming these fasteners were screws then all of the slots in them would be aligned. Not jutting off at random angles. The nerve that Eagle Dynamics has to call themselves purveyors of "simulators" and yet the skip over this detail. AS YOU CAN PLAINLY SEE in my attached picture the slot clearly aligns with the end of the channel in the fastener. Therefore, all of the slots SHOULD be parallel. How will I ever become immersed in this "simulation" now knowing that the fasteners are not right? Think of the three's of people who have attempted to take off a panel with the errant knowledge supplied by none other than Eagle Dynamics that these fasteners are screws? Think of the time lost! 10's of seconds! I demand a formal apology.

T.16000M FCS Hotas worthy for the A-10c?
Braeden108 replied to twistking's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Dunno if this has been posted here or not. TrackIR is over priced in my opinion. Don't get me wrong I'm sure TrackIR makes a quality product. However there's a cheaper way that is just as good. I made mine for $30. You need a wiimote a bluetooth dongle and 3 IR LED's which you can get from remotes. You can get instructions here: http://www.desiquintans.com/headtrack -
I'm wondering if anyone has any idea how many pulses per revolution the encoder on the Ka-50 ABRIS has.

Is the Warthog HOTAS a sturdy one?

I run a 35 cm extension, off a Logitech 3d pro gimbal, it's solid. So you'll be fine. -

Rudder Pedals (Comfort Level)
Braeden108 replied to iVVChewy9141VVi's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I had little issue transitioning. However I think this is because I run my petals inverted. I push the right side forward and the aircraft turns left, like the handlebars on a bike. -
I also have an issue with the lighting, I think the aircraft marker lights are to dim, or at least not visible when you're not 5 feet from the aircraft. I wish I could make them more visible.

Russian multidirectional toggles?
Braeden108 replied to Braeden108's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Awesome! Thank you -
This is more for fun than anything, I'm just wondering if anyone knows where I can get those multi directional switches like you find in the Ka-50, e.g the start selector and light switches. It'd be fun to use these switches in place of rotary switches.

Real world slew controls
Braeden108 replied to Braeden108's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hahaha yeah I currently use a thrust master hotas throttle (t-flight not warthog) so I'd keep the f-15 throttle. I'd love. I have one, though I'll probably just use 10-100k ohm pressure sensors. Thanks for the advice, and good job on that throttle Im learning that each switch on that thing is over $50 bucks so no matter what you paid it's a steal. -
I was flying with a buddy of mine and he had all of his lights on, however I still couldn't see him. His lights were still just little pin pricks on my screen. I'm wondering if there is a way I can make the lights bloom? Is there a DCS option or a mod to make the lights more visible? Flight Simulator X did a really good job of this.

Best way to make back lit panels?
Braeden108 replied to Braeden108's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I use gimp, it's a free program. Yeah that's the funny thing about the warthog I've never used the engine ignition and motor switches or fuel flow so they're basically useless -

Real world slew controls
Braeden108 replied to Braeden108's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks Sokol, but I'm looking for a force sensitive stick. Really I'm looking for something with almost no deadzone. I want the slightest pressure or movement to register. I think I found the guys who put the slew controller in the hog. They don't mention price... So yeah I'm guess I can't afford it. http://www.daco.co.uk/modular-controllers/force-joysticks -
Best way to make back lit panels?
Braeden108 replied to Braeden108's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm currently working on mine. However, its of my own design as it incorporates switches from all of the aircraft I fly therefore its not for any one aircraft. That being said I can show you my finished product and if you like it perhaps I could make one for the A-10C? That way you could just print the decal off and save yourself a lot of tedium perhaps. -
Hey guys, I'm planning on making a custom throttle base. It will be build much like the Warthog, with that nice military style. Which involves making some backlit panels. Now I understand how to build them, but I'm wondering the best way to do put letters and symbols on them. Now I know the cool rich boys out there have their panels laser etched, but what's a way a home gamer like me can do it? My current plan is to use T-shirt iron on decals to do it. But if anyone has a better idea, I'm open. Also if you know how the military does it, that be cool to know too.

Define touchpad, like a laptop pad or a track point? If you're talking about a track point, than I want one too. However I can't find any. If you find any you should totally send me a link.
