  1. Guarantee if we took away your FC3 F-15 RWR you'd be a mess.
  2. Neil I hope your right with this last statement but I've begun to realize that there is nothing huge about this niche community. I'd be tickled to see a huge uptick, but with all the other WW2 development I think the boat has sailed and it'll remain a very niche group flying WW2 in DCS.
  3. I'd disagree as most people haven't even given DCS a chance w/ WW2. I fly all WW2 sims extensively and they all have their unique benefits. If you get more frequent Case Blue rounds from Buddy Spike and get 54th Philstyle to bring Storm of War to DCS, I think you'll change your tune.
  4. I5 -3570K overclocked4ghz 16gb RAM Gtx 760 4Gb card SSD for DCS 50 fps pretty solid in Normandy. Set to medium for most graphics settings. Jumps for various ground items. Hope that helps.
  5. So with that comment your telling me your satisfied with the community participation in WW2 DCS simulation????
  6. Coming back to DCS after a half year break away. Biggest thing I've noticed since returning is the lack of participation in MP on Normandy. How many people and squads I've heard say: "as soon as Normandy is out, we're full in DCS WW2." currently there only two Spitfires in a non combat server in Normandy and that's it. What gives?
  7. Your opinion is definitly noted. Wrangling around the herd of cats in my squad that flies both aircraft tells a very different story. Too similarly skilled pilots F5 wins 9 outve 10 times. This has even been backed up by soviet test pilots with links in these forums stating the F5 kicked butt Mikoyan booty. F5 not multirole???? It has way more A/G capacity then the Fishbed by far. Minus guided rockets, the SPS 141, and R3Rs I'd take the Tiger.
  8. Great module, but it has been in better shape
  9. Not an accurate statement. In current state F5 hands down.
  10. Gonna be tuff in the Mustang as there is no enviroment available yet that correctly suits many ww2 prop flyers. Once Normandy is out expect that to change. If your willing to look at other aircraft types, you will have more luck finding what your looking for. In regards to dead is dead. There might be guys out there doing that during mutiplayer tournaments or when you die in training you shutup in the debrief. Outside of that don't expect it. I'd start out more casual if I where you until flying becomes more 2nd nature then ramp it up.
  11. I bet you a real life F-5 pilot could'nt even tell you which tick marks are accurate without looking in the aircraft.
  12. Hosting a mission on the latest two patches, I've had multiple air spawn clients go stealth on me. Can't see them on F-10 or via external views when they go stealth. They can see the other players though they sometimes where saying they see me in a vertical climb although I was level. When they shoot you don't see their missiles coming at all. Once they hit you the chat says you killed yourself. While this is happening they cannot receive any RWR indications from your radar. Replicated multiple times on server with Mig21 and F-5s only. Clients that went invisible where not in any pattern and it seemed completely random.
  13. Honestlly, I have zero idea why people use DCS on Steam with all the benefits of standalone not to mention more support to the devs Why would you deprive yourself of half the sims content?
  14. Stop in, fly with us, if we like you, we'll let you stay. What is your age?
  15. Finished missions 1-5 after this update, ok no issues. Mission 6, no text or comms from mission.
  16. Create Mission, invisibilty on with engine started on rwy. Practice over and over again. As for technique....1 degree down trim, and "rudder" on rudder trim at 2 oclock position. Stick full aft and full right and slight right rudder prior to starting takeoff. Slowly add to 8 boost and pick a refernce on horizon or a cloud in the sky ahead. As soon as you see your nose drifting you must correct smoothly immediatly. As she accelerates keep the back stick, but begin to neutralize out the right stick, your flying this thing to lift off essentially. Once you have full aft stick and your ailerons are neutralized(never fully in center, seems like small left and right inputs to prevent wing from dragging.) slowly release aft stick and she should fly off.
  17. Same issue in the first cap flight,I think mission 8. Lead is stuck in his bunker.
  18. 230 kts groundspeed is max tire speed.Youd have to factor in altitude, temp, and wind to get your groundspeed at t/o. In Nttr it could be pushing the limits.
  19. You can still land fine with the tire model as of now. You have to go to F2 view and see if the rubber looks strange.
  20. Without the chute (which I believe they don't use real world unless there is technical problems) follow these procedures: 1.)Land On Speed / On Centerline 2.)Let aircraft weight settle on the runway 3.)maintain centerline with ONLY rudder (if you use NWS, you will die) 4.)Gradual increase of brake pressure for a potato or two, and then release, REPEAT step 4 as required to slow down. (Do not just hold down the brake as they will lock up and send you for a fiery ride.) 5.)Passing 60 kts activate nosewheel steering. 6.)Use entire rwy to decelarate
  21. You popped your tires almost certainly.
  22. We fly in formation all the time, only difference is it's always to kill someone and not for show. Usually on evening Pacific, check us out. We train in the L-39C too.
  23. Looks like running the mission again worked until the unknown merge, DCS crash but.....Tanker was avail and L-39 merge occurred.
  24. Will do.
