I've noticed with two in the aircraft it only spontaneously combusts when someone in the aircraft has a high ping. With low ping it seems to go away. I don't know if there is a magical ping where it occurs.

I second that, check out Project Vodka.

This is a plus as you can remain unseen much longer WVR. If you can sneak up without your opponent knowing and verify he is on the other team (using a little GCI hand holding, it can be very deadly. Pop out of the weather shoot and go back down.

All the more reason to purchase it. Get online and get some backseat instruction. This is where the module really shines.

Who has recieved baackseat L-39C Instruction?

Very true statement. -
Was wondering what your experience was and how effective you thought it was. We use it extensively in my group and it seems to be enjoyable to all who have partaken. It'd be nice to get other opinions to show the masses how useful the bird is.

I've never been in denial of this fact, and at one point even cut off my MiG-21 dedicated squad from flying the module based on its state. Every time you post a claim that has no factual evidence to back it up is effort the team must go in and research, and then fix(if it was even broken in the first place.) If it wasn't broke and you just " think " it should be fixed throws many man hours down the drain. How does this effect our enjoyment? Less bugs gets squashed overall with the team searching down rabbit holes. Now if you post requests for bugs to be fixed with say a sound file, or a video showing an actual Fishbed doing what you stated was wrong GREAT,the module is better off for everyone. Even if it's some basic aeronautical expertise or experience to back it up is better then nothing. This attention to detail gives LN the appropriate area in which to begin focusing their search. This is something that is absolutely crucial with smaller developers. I'm Out.

Dude like I told you in the other thread, stop spitballing unless you have legit evidence.

Java, we're talking late 50's and early 60's man, not to mention soviet built for quantity no quality. Of all 30 types of aircraft I flown in real life ranging from 1950's era to brand new, you'd never turn avionics on first if there is a switch enabling it. The attention to detail with this is excellent, if this is the reason the radar is shorting.

Gents, I cant stress it enough, "I think", or "I feel it should be like this" is not concrete enough evidence to change it. Yes I agree every bug should be squashed, and we should hold LN to this, but....when I hear a lot of "I'm not sure if this is realistic or not, please expand" it sounds like your unsure yourself, very likely making more work for LN who've had actual MiG-21 pilots in the development team. If you have concrete background/facts for why it should be changed, post the evidence to LN on their bug tracker and I'll give you a thumbs up. Not trying to be a jerk, but realistic here.

Finally pre purchased, significant other doesnt know yet.....might be sleeping on couch.

So does F-16, and many other fighters. Prevents loosing an entire aircraft due to landing gear malfunctions, ground controlability issues, and brake failures to name a few. Typically the field arresting gear has a much longer pull out then a carrier, providing the decelaration without loosing the wings. If you live in the US, you can notice these gears at some dual use airports. If you taxi on to the runway as a passenger and hear a clunk while your airbus taxi's over a cable walla!

We are looking for those interested in flying the MiG-21 and F-5E in a organized group manner, with proper training, and evolving DCS tactics. We are a squadron dedicated to the most realistic DCS flight experience you can get, without the burden of military service. This encompasses our main mission of providing adversary services to those who request it in DCS. This is a dedicated service provided by trained and vetted pilots who fully understand the mission set. What are Adversary Services about? They're not about just putting up PVP against anyone who wants to go squad versus squad, however we can execute this type of fight, it's just not our sole focus. An adversary squadron's sole purpose is to emulate the enemies tactics in order to provide an accurate scenario for those requesting our services. This means our members must be well versed enough to debrief the squad we're providing services for with things they did well, and things they need to improve on. Due to this stringent requirement we require anyone who joins to go through our flight school syllabus in the L-39C in order to get every member up to a standard baseline. This allows us to focus on the tactics and not the basics of flying. Throughout the L-39C syllabus you will have an actual instructor in the backseat coaching you along, and making you better, regardless of your skill level. Once You've completed the flight school syllabus, we move you on to either the Mig-21 Wingman Syllabus or F-5E Wingman Syllabus or both depending on the player's desires. Once you've completed this you will be qualified to fly as a wingman during dedicated adversary operations. At the end of this the members of the group will get together and give you a unique callsign that will go on the side of your own personalized aircraft. Once you've gained experience flying wingtip, you'll,l be entered into the 2-Ship lead syllabus and learn to lead a flight of two. Once again you will learn how to properly brief, lead, and debrief a flight of two. At the conclusion of this you will be authorized to lead around a trained wingman during dedicated Adversary operations. Afterwords you will be admitted to the four-ship syllabus and the same principles apply. This syllabus allows to build a solid foundation for your development in our core modules. It also builds immersion and a sense of accomplishment for those that complete it. Once complete you will be able to instruct in all our aircraft types. If you are interested, please apply at our forums at: http://adversarypros.proboards.com/ If your interested in us providing Adversary operations go to our forums as well.

I'd recommend having more focus on less aircraft types. You will be a jack of all trades but master of none. -

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 6
viperdogsnake replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
Round five was a blast. Round six IMO as a Mig 21 pilot wasn't as enjoyable. Things Id like seen changed. L39 Recon flights should not count against lives (think helo lives in Round 5.) Gazelle and Ka50 should not count in the fixed wing lives. As much hate and discontent theyre was with the logistics last round, I felt the fuel runs really ramped up the pressure cooker especially when balancing aerodrome supply, sam drop, and troop drop. CSAR being axed killed a whole mission set making it feel flat. Some historical context would be cool in a campaign like this, aka Warsaw Pact, quantity over quality, NATO quality over quantity. Dunno how you could get that feel, but Itd be nice. Thanks for the hard work nonetheless. Greg and company, always keep in mind you've built something so unique that all those involved get very passionate about. Regardless of the critisim you might receive from me or my red comrades this round, you've done an amazing job no other server has come close in DCS. And yes I know the round is still finishing, I'm just done. -

Rob does top notch work, he's been working on this concept for going on a year. LGents recommend you dust off the Sabre or MiG and check it out. My group has been very busy lately, and havent had time to jump in. We've not forgotten and will savage some sabres soon. -
is Backseat working in multiplayer?
viperdogsnake replied to IAF_Phantom's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
Backseat work great in mp. As long as both your pings are decent 100 or less I've seen no issues. My squad has seen issues with higher pings though, planes will randomly explode. This has caused issues for dudes working on our flight school course, so we adjusted who hosted lowering the lag and pings. Besides that it works fantastic and is a great teaching tool. Make sure you bind the appropriate key to take control from the backseat. Enjoy. -
fantastic work cobra

You just got my MiG21 squad airborne again Cobra thanks.

UH-1, duh, American Made!

I can add to the dsync yesterday. Majority of missiles would loose track against AI F-4e. I used 8 missiles to take down AI without him employing any countermeasures. Was well within displayed Rmax. Missiles would start tracking, then drift into the ground (no terrain issues or mtn evading). The ones that did track would start to drift off and then smoke trail would curve post desync and track. Same for behavior between heaters and radar missiles. These are the same issues I had in round 5. Especially when you get a jump on the 104th boys only to see the element of suprise porked away based on this issue.
