  1. I did think that I'd read recently a comment that ED Dev resources were fully directed onto the Mig29. Whilst I assume that excludes devs working on say Vulkan or the maps, that does still infer that no dev "effort" is being spent on older modules. It would be good to clarify either way what was meant by that, as it's not a good look to infer that modules already paid for are ignored just to allow onboarding of something snazzy and new.
  2. no thanks. We’ve seen far to many times how proposed plans have found themselves to be unrealistic, which creates user expectations and then disappointment when they’re not met. Much better to under promise and over deliver
  3. How many DCS missions are flown "now", i.e. at this time and date? How would this work for say a historical date for a mission? Maybe a "random" weather that fits within the typical weather for that season/area of the world might be useful.
  4. Could I please suggest using Google? A search along the lines of DCS FC3 x56 would probably work.
  5. I have to ask the obvious, have you checked that the profile you’re using has the gun effects enabled?
  6. Awesome news. Looking forward to that
  7. The Moza configuration capability basically replaces the Virpil config software. So any clever configurations that you might have had are unlikely to work. I don't remember seeing any way to reconfigure the hat as buttons (please do correct me if I'm wrong on that). One of the implications being that you'll need to rebind every command for every aircraft within DCS for the Moza Whilst that's somewhat annoying, I've had mine for a number of months now and love it. I've kept my Virpil T50 base and Alpha for the time being "just in case", as the Moza is a lot more complex because of it's motors, and therefore is unlikely to be as reliable. I've never wanted to go back to the pure Virpil solution. Yes, the initial setup is a PITA, but once you figure out basic usage, the AB9 really is a game changer. Ref config, there are some out of the box pre-configured profiles. They're a good starting point. Once you get a feel for what you want, you can start creating new profiles, specific for an aircraft type, with tailored settings. Currently, all of my profiles use Telemetry data and have all of the individual settings enabled, with the profiles for each setting modified as I wish. So for example, in the Huey, I've lightened the spring and dampers, so that it has far less resistance. As I've never flown anything, and have never seen much on the specific feel of a real aircraft, I'm just guessing, but over time, they're coming together. Some interesting oddities: All of the default profiles were using "Integrated" to collate feedback data from DCS. As I understand it, this combines both the telemetry data from DCS AND the FFB data from DCS. It's not nice. Hence why I set mine to telemetry only. Maybe the FFB data from DCS will in the future be good enough to replace the telemetry, but right now, I don't use it The damage setting is by default disabled for all of the profiles. It's very easy to enable, just a single tick, but it does mean checking every profile The default gun recoil on say the Hind is absolutely nuts. That required a bit more finesse on the curve Where there is no obvious profile for an aircraft, just copy one that's similar, assign that to work with the aircraft that you'll be using, and then further refine. Doesn't take long once you get the hang of it Moza do state compatibility, but with only a limited number of grips, the Alpha being one of them. It does work with the Alpha Prime that I bought a few months ago. However (of course), Virpil updated the configuration such that out of the box, the flip trigger is seen as two buttons. That wasn't the case within the Virpil software with the Alpha. Sure enough, that means that moving from the Alpha to the Alpha Prime required re-binding EVERY CONTROL for EVERY AIRCRAFT again (joy). Again, I can't complain too much, as whilst the Prime isn't really that different to the Alpha, I do love the feel of it. It's not really worth the cost to upgrade, but hey, what the hell.
  8. Agreed, Unfortunately, we seem to be sorely lack in Flight focused seats for sims, i.e. with a cutout. The only units that I've seen for sale in the UK are the Monstertech (cost=ouch) and the NLR, which I get the impression is a not the most comfortable. That's why I'm currently using a s/h car seat with my setup. The only Flight seat I've seen that looks likely to be comfortable is the SimFab unit, which I get the impression is primarily for the US market. There is an Eu seller. As for harnesses, I bought a s/h Willans 4 point, which had been used in a track car. Dirt cheap as they have a "best before date" and does help with immersion, even if it's doing nothing genuinely useful.
  9. No, we weren't using DCS. We used FS2024 or 2020. Whilst I tried a variety of manoeuvres, all just felt a little slow in their reaction speeds and as a result, felt less natural. As mentioned, with the cost, space issues and required tweaking involved, taking the risk that it "might" be possible to dial it in seemed a bit of a jump too far. In addition, I know someone who had a DOF3 and eventually sold it on.
  10. Hopefully just me being stupid, but I couldn't see any bindings or something to click on with the mouse to open the doors for the pilot and co-pilot. Am I missing something obvious?
  11. Sounds interesting. Just so we understand, do you have personal experience in this area?
  12. I’m part way through my semi regular walkthrough where I fly all of my modules. Helps me not forget, I like the variety and along the way I get to refine my kneeboards for my HOTAS layout and guidance.
  13. Heatblur did giveaway a T shirt with the F4
  14. I was out in the Mossie today, which I'm hoping one day will get AI Bill, i.e. a navigator. What struck me was that a script could be a really cool interim solution. What I was thinking of was a script that would: On a button press, advise the ID number of the next waypoint, it's heading from your aircraft, and estimated time to arrival at the waypoint based on the current ground speed. To keep it simple, for that to be a message on screen On a button press, to select the next waypoint, no need to display it On a button press, to select the previous waypoint, no need to display it Whilst it was the Mossie that got me thinking about it, it would also be useful in other multi-player aircraft, e.g. Huey, Hip, Hind. Apologies, my scripting skills are pants. Does anyone already have this as a solution or could put it together?
  15. Question for you guys, can you destroy the walls around buildings in Normandy?
  16. Just have multiple groups, put them in racetrack orbit at the opposite starting point and with 2000’+ height difference. Personally, I now give my tankers unlimited fuel, so as to avoid needing the set up triggers for replacements.
  17. Being fair, I had mine for probably 5 years and gave it away in working condition, though the throttle axis was clearly a bit "dirty" by then.
  18. And your speculation is based upon what?
  19. My first throttle was a CH Pro. When compared to say my Virpil CM3, the CH is frankly not in the same league. Fewer buttons, just one throttle axis, fewer buttons, nothing like as sensitive or accurate and felt like it was made of kids toys plastics in comparison.
  20. I put my thoughts/experiences from the DOF3 and DOF6 demo here: As mentioned in there, during the demo, I really wasn't that impressed, though I could certainly see the potential if it was possible to improve the response speed, and even more so whilst in VR. In the meantime, feels like a lot of dosh for something that might not really deliver, would require a re-think on the position of my current rig and I'm guessing will introduce a number of additional headaches with regard to maintenance of patches, interaction with my other sim bits etc. I think I'll be using the potential funds towards the next VR headset, whatever that might be.
  21. I’d like to see an auto created KB for all DCS aircraft, to include waypoint coordinates, wind speed/direction, headings, distances and timings between waypoints.
  22. As above Mirage F1 or Phantom. Both require more pilot engagement and they are very charismatic.
