Same here. I'm not impressed. The instruments on the dashboard look like they were painted on. Everything looks low quality textures and way too clean. It looks like a cartoon. It doesn't look like anything in the new helicopter pack video. Where's this? (dials at 17 seconds). They just look painted on in my game. I'm flying Caucuses map, so is it lighting / shadows?

Don't even get me started on how much I hate DCS' copy protection. For such a niche sim that no one wants to steal, I don't know why the INTENSE copy protection.

We don't have true binoculars in game, so I just use Zoom for the small stuff.

I remember I had this happen before. I think it is in either your cameras setup or in you screen resolution settings. You might have to edit the setting manually, but I can't remember where they are. You'll have to wait for someone more knowledgeable

Lol, yeah, but it's the "Ridculous Scenarios" that are played on this sim! Like it or not, there are fighters in the sky, and I can see this happening in very hot, chaotic battles ( like the ones the future probably holds).

I personally don't see why the Ka-50 couldn't carry A-A. There is even a switch for it on the collective handle. And in my opinion, the Ka-50 was always more of an experiment than anything else. It led to the development of the Ka-52, which can carry iglas.

Lol, no, sorry, at 8:04, those are the Vihkers. Though, they do look a lot like Iglas. Though, at 8:11 is interesting. I have no idea what that missile is. Doesn't look like a Kh-25. Solid, pointed nose looks like radar covering.

It's probably just like the Cobra and the Apache. They are "capable" of carrying air to air armament, but in reality, usually don't. However, the in the DCS sim, they are badly needed, as the Ka-50 is a sitting duck for any fighter aircraft, especially if it is on the front line, ahead of any friendly ground AAA or SAM missile systems, that could help protect it.

I think there was some discussion of this in the Russian forum. I can't remember. I guess the computer can adjust the laser cone in certain ways to adjust for multiple missiles in it, at once. In auto, it's one missile right after the other, so no problem. With big spaces between them, that's going to be a lot more complicated for the fire control computer to deal with. I'm sure there is a limit eventually, as the cone has to expand once again every time another missile is fired, in order to catch it in the cone.

If you look on the Russian forums, you'll find some in-depth discussions and quotes from Russian books on it. Much more detailed than the debates here. There's a thread or two that I started there as well, looking for more information on this. Got some good answers.

Oh, it was long ago. I think Chizh said it. You can look at his posts. I think it was where he said it was going to be the "ED" Ka-50.

Personally, instead of a fantasy Ka-50, I would much rather see ED make the Ka-52 with whatever knowledge they can get their hands on. However, since they seem unwilling to do that, I do want to see the Ka-50 receive the Igla, and FLIR w/ Night Attack capabilities. It's the only attack helicopter that is in the game, and currently, you are dead if a fight jet notices you. At least with Igla's, you can throw all them at the fighter, and run for your life while he tries to avoid them.

As much as you say this, Weta, you should put it on a rubber stamp. It would save you some typing. :) @Dehuman - It needs some pylons for Vhikers, Iglas, and rockets.

Yep, and whether we buy it or not is totally up to us. Igla-S 3 Pylons L-370 Vitebsk FLIR and Night Attack Capability.
