  1. You're probably going to have to go in the LUA files to change it. I think I had this problem once. Multiscreen is checked off in options. I"m not sure what the .lua file is called or where it is.
  2. What's the problem dude? There does seem to be a bug with the startup page at times. I see the DCS World title page, but then blackness, or it hangs on the title page. I usually just restart my computer, and clear out memory. Then it works. Your sign in name and password should be in your ED account. You can go here - https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/ and hit the support button near the top of the page. That should get you some help. Hitting that button will also take you to a page to help recover your password. Welcome to DCS!
  3. So, I guess your calling what Chiz says crap then, eh Zero. I've learned to just ignore you.

    Total Area?

This could be the next ARMA if ED would go with Vehicle and Infantry simulation. The Dream of a lot of people I know. A REALISTIC / SIM level ARMA. Plus, you could sell the shit out of it to military's the World over.
  5. Submarine simulator NOW! Actually, I think a submarine simulator would be awesome!
  6. Interesting. I wonder what it would take to "bend" it to spherical? If possible.
  7. Thanks Fri! VERY INTERESTING. ED needs to hire you to show them how to do it.
  8. DCS has real issues. They keep wanting to punch a bunch of new stuff out, but never fix their old stuff. It is UNREAL that they are working on new RADAR systems, but refuse to bring any effort at making REALISTIC Electro-Optical even though it is an ESSENTIAL system in at least TWO of their aircraft. Probably more, but I only fly the Shark and Warthog at the moment. And these two aircraft are their OLDEST products. I agree with holding back on buying any new aircraft from DCS until they fix the issues with their other aircraft, especially the oldest ones. I am seriously beginning to lose faith in them.
  9. Personally, I can't understand why EO systems are not being developed. One of the MOST USED missiles, the Maverick, uses EO. Surely, they want to completely develop the Maverick missile. Then, they could just port that system over to the Shark, as well as any other aircraft / vehicle that needs it. As they get into vehicles and infantry, many systems will be using EO.
  10. Yeah, but I'm also talking about the "cyclic" part of the HOTAS from Virpil, and VKB and such, which are much more mainstream for the jets. With an extender, they can reach $700 as well just for the cyclic part. And below that level, the sticks like the "Rhino" are pretty much crap. Even Thrustmaster isn't very good. There have been complaints about them for years. I would call VKB and Virpil, mid level priced sticks. I've seen other companies get into $700 just for the bases alone. This is why I want FPS and Vehicle simulation to come into DCS, so that it will become much more mainstream, and new people will start buying HOTAS as well. If we could just get VKB and Virpil to halve their prices, they would become affordable to the mainstream.
  11. LOL! Virpil "reasonably priced". But I guess this IS a rich man's game. They're going to need a really heavy duty lock button on that stick! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Lock! Target acquired! Also, Komodo Simulations announce OH-58D Kiowa controls ($686 US for the grip alone!). Looks like the heli game is afoot!
  12. Why bother with a track. This is a WELL KNOWN issue, and has been complained about for YEARS. Come on, ED. Don't give us the "give us a track" BS anymore. You know EXACTLY what is wrong here. There is NO contrast lock. You're using simple code for time of day, and a few other factors. You guys need to fix this. We need REAL constrast lock for EO. You're developing all these new radar systems now. Please fix the problem with EO on your, what was it?, 2008 RELEASE DATE helicopter!
  13. And in DCS missions, you get nothing but "What if". Hence why we need everything that the Ka-50 could possibly carry. And especially Igla's since the enemy copters will ignore armor right below them to come straight at you. And they are crack shots with their guns and missiles. If they get within gun range of you, it's over.
  14. I think you will find many of us were done with that a while back. However, when they do fix something, sometimes other things break. So it takes time to go through the whole cycle of trying to reach the end where everything comes out fixed. Luckily, this new 3rd party coming on want's to focus on the ground, and DCS' new Marianas Islands I would say are nearing Arma 3 level graphics (very promising!). I mean really, look at one of the Arma 3 Islands, and then Mariana's Island. Pretty close, I would say. THIS is what I really wanted to see. Some island maps that aren't all just grassy plains and trees. With less land area, we can have hills, bridges, complex structures, better textures, etc. Would love to see some old castle ruins and such. This allows DCS to bring in vehicle and FPS mods. An actual WORLD! Even the high flyers can participate from aircraft carriers and such. I know the high flyers usually don't care about the land beneath them, they're all about BVR and dogfights 30,000 feet above it all. But we low and slow flyers appreciate the terrain and the beauty of the World. (Note to ED. There's not going to be another Arma, I don't know if you realized that or not, so here's your chance to gain THOUSANDS of new customers). So, maybe with all this new focus on the ground, they will start focusing once again on the low and slow flyers, which need a lot of loving ( especially the Ka-50).
  15. Very NICE! China. The New Russia?
  16. Nice! Thanks man.
  17. How to trim.
  18. That's EXACTLY what I want! Realism! Besides, it's the aircraft that are an immediate threat to the Shark, not the ground targets.
  19. Ahh, ok. So "rudder trim" is like "central trimmer mode" for the pedals. And damping is not turned off when you hit trimmer. Thanks! I will try it out.
  20. In Options, under Special, go to Ka-50. Set the Trimmer mode to Central Position Trimmer Mode. I think that's the right one. This means that when you click trimmer, the Shark will not accept input commands until the joystick is returned to center ( on the physical joystick itself ). Now, we don't have FFB like the Shark does in reality, so we have to use the trimmer in a different way. When you want to change flight path with the trimmer, instead of clicking it, HOLD IT DOWN, then change your position to where you want while holding down the trimmer, get every thing steady again and flying where you want while holding down the trimmer, now release the trimmer button, and let your joystick go back to center. You should be trimmed. Also, if you have the Height autopilot turned on, click your collective brake ( F key ) to set the new height in the height autopilot channel. The trimmer will reset the center of the cyclic on the shark, wherever you left the cyclic at. So, if you moved the cyclic 40 percent in force over to the left, that will be the new center of the cyclic. The flight computer is still seeing 40 percent force push to the left from the cyclic, but the physical cyclic now isn't producing any real force, because of the change in center. There is ZERO force at the center. This lets the Auto Pilot once again exert 20 percent force control on the cyclic. New force input is just added to whatever the flight computer is already seeing from the position of the cyclic. When you hold down the trimmer, the auto pilot channels turn off, so it's going to be a little harder to fly until you release it. After releasing the trimmer, the channels come back on. As for clicking "rudder trimmer", I believe it's kind of a "cheat". Supposedly, the AP on the real Shark does not control the physical rudder, only the blades ( at least that's what I hear ).
  21. Lol, maybe we'll finally get a Ka-52 with full loadout! They can just copy what's already known from the Ka-50, and well educated guess on the rest. Though I would not want to give up what is already in the Ka-50.
  22. Well, I would say ED is in quite a pickle then. Hope they can get through it somehow.
  23. Yes, it's ridiculous. You can't tell me ED doesn't know how Iglas would work in any heli, especially when the switch for them is in the the Ka-50 we have now. FLIR, RWR, etc. are all simple things modern aircraft have had for decades as well. Would like to see the IFF switch made functional as well. Looks like we're going to be doing educated guessing anyway if they can't get documentation from the Russians. But I'd also like to see a much more scrutinizing look at this new Law, and EXACTLY what it says. Seems to me, this is all about DCS keeping in good with the Russians. Cause you know OTHER nations probably have the docs, so what is too keep ED from getting it from them?
  24. Actually, in the Russian forums, ED does say they don't care if it's fantasy or not ( because the copter itself was just an experiment, never adopted), and they do intend to give it a third rail, igla's, and a MLWS/DIRCM because they wanted to make what they thought it would have been if adopted, and knew that this would make the Shark pilots happy. Besides, if they don't, it will be slaughtered by the new AH-64D coming out. If they don't, I don't see really why anyone would buy it anymore, because it feels so half finished. RWR and FLIR are really needed as well. I've flown it for years, learned most of the systems well. It is not very combat worthy. You can't even lock up helicopters most of the time. Even clicking lock with the target gates right in front of a moving heli RARELY will lock it. Even if it's head on, the shkval will rarely lock it. The only thing it seems capable of is attacking VERY slow moving ground targets. And only in FULL daylight at that.
  25. @Snappy I think CA pretty much is abandoned. I don't see ED doing anything with it. Why we are talking to these people. As for costs, it's the dam HOTAS that really kills you in cost. 2. Not worried about MP. Few people play it. Almost everyone plays offline. MP can be worked out between the few MP people. @Dragon1-1 Agree with Dragon1-1 about modern 2000 assets pack. What I really want to see. Again, not worried about 10% MP community. Sorry. You guys can work it out between yourselves.
