YOUR FEEDBACK IS IMPORTANT
CHPL replied to CHPL's topic in DCS: UH-1H Worlds Apart Stormfront Campaign
@razer668 I will check it. But out of memory, you come from the HQ following the road along the coastline. You will fly directly into the trigger that starts the convoy, and the AI helo is already at the station. After that, stay in the vicinity of the moving convoy. @Kh4 I'm also out of memory. It sounds like you fly well above 100 feet and in big circles. Do you try to check all the vehicles and overtake them low? Getting multiple messages that overlap indicates you are flying fast, in big circles, and not keeping sight of what is happening on the ground. But I will check it tomorrow and see how and what help I can provide you. Would a short video that shows the intended behavior help you out? Because others have already finished the mission, I believe it is because I expect a particular behavior in the mission you may not know. But first, let me check. -

@Simonster83 The points generated have only real value in one mission: the CAS mission guarding the convoy. The primary purpose is to tell the campaign that you finished a mission successfully (50 or above). I added points at the end of the mission to get 100 to avoid the impression that something was missed. Obviously, I missed that in that particular IFR mission. So don't worry; you did everything right, and I hope it was a bit of a challenge and a lot of fun to fly that mission. -
With this video, I would like to give you a brief insight into the complexity of my missions. Using Mission 1 of the STORMFRONT campaign as an example, I would like to show you how I approach the topic and how a mission is structured. - 335 Trigger - 80 Trigger zones - around 200 voice-overs everything in one single mission ! Many other examples show that I could have it much easier, and everyone would still be happy—with one exception: myself.

I will call the last post my "SPUDKNOCKER MOMENT," even though my situation is not comparable to Spudknocker's. Only a few unfriendly posts have occurred in the past few years, and only one guy delivers regular punches, usually with direct messages. So, I hope that most of you are satisfied with my work and promot me simply with a like for that post. -

Hey Tobi I am glad you are still with me. Usually, you get information, but DCS is an open world, so any player's behavior cannot be anticipated in advance. Considering the complexity of the missions and the tremendous number of triggers, I am more than happy that these are the only issues until now, and Talvid has already finished the campaign. -

Thanks a lot for your feedback. It will take a while to get to part 3 of the series. First, I worked on the Mi-8 campaign in Syria, which is a challenge of a different kind. The number of triggers explodes about all the switches and nops in the cockpit. I hope you will fly this campaign several times in the future; then, there will always be something to explore that you did not realize in the first place. Again, thank you very much for your feedback. This is a very welcome buster to my motivation. -

@razer668 I checked the mission 3a. It worked fine for me. BUT: After picking up the U-Boot passenger and heading 230°, the mission ends after two or three minutes. Mission 3b starts right after leaving the sub. It would be best to do nothing except hold the initial course of 230° and your altitude. Frequencies, including the Homing for the friget, are set automatically, and you receive the signal about 1 minute later. So, did you find the sub in the first place and pick up the passenger? -
MISSION 3 / TIPS AND ISSUES
CHPL replied to razer668's topic in DCS: UH-1H Worlds Apart Stormfront Campaign
TIPS Note that you are flying the aircraft in trim. The wind correction is included in the specified course. Your course over the ground can otherwise deviate by more than 10° with a crosswind of at least 15 knots, and you will be lost. The frequency for the HOMING signal to the frigate will be found in the flight planning, especially on the kneeboard, where you will find everything you need. -
TIPS It is essential to follow the instructions of your commander or air traffic control or ground control. Il est essentiel de suivre les instructions de votre commandant, du contrôle aérien ou du contrôle au sol. Es ist wichtig, den Anweisungen deines Komandanten und oder der Flugsicherung beziehungsweise der Bodenstelle zu folgen. Try to put yourself in the situation as well as possible and behave like a disciplined pilot rather than a curious player hungry for success.

YOUR FEEDBACK IS IMPORTANT

@Talvid You are right. After watching your video a second time, I realized it was made at the end of the mission, not during the first visit to the HQ. In fact, you ordered your aircraft to move to the central helipad at the end and not, as I mentioned before, to the maintenance area. I suggest you do not know my first camping SPRING 2025, the first part of the story, so you need to get familiar with the way I build missions not as a game but as a simulation and that it is essential to act as in a real-life situation as much as this is possible with the Players different levels of experience. Not overflying or avoiding overflying any buildings or gatherings of people in a noncombat situation is one of the basic rules. It is totally unknown and useless if you look at it from a game perspective. I know this sounds easy, but it is one of the most challenging tasks within the campaign. That is why it is so important to listen to and follow the advice given by your commander or any other party on the radio. Another important thing is the direction of the wind. That gives you the direction inbound and outbound of a landing zone and keeps you automatically on track. If you ignore the wind by lats sai 90°, you may miss triggers during approach and departure, such as the information to fly to the ridgeline. All missions were tested a hundred times but under the condition of a simulation and the knowledge of basic procedures and behavior. If you know the simulation side of DCS, please do not be disappointed or frustrated; consider it a challenge and an opportunity to learn a lot about safe and professional operations. -

At the beginning of the mission you need to land at the high rise pad. After the hospital helipad you ordered to land at the maintenance center. Please refer to the maps and if needed to the handbook that includes a ditaild description of the HQ. Also if yo like, I can follow you live via discord when flying the mission to give you an idea of how, know how procedures helps. Prior appointment off cause. I also will do a video how a mission looks like in the mission editor, so players get a better understanding what's the needs and limits are for mission creators. -

Out of memory. The ship gets activated, when you get close following the homing signal. If you miss the associated trigger zone you may fly into the missen part a finished Trigger. I need to secure that end trigger for part A, so it only get activate after the stop by at the frigett. But without finding the frigett the mission is incompleed. -

Thanks. I will check it as soon as possible. Actual flight altitude has no influence. Flying in complete circles around the HQ at a practical distance is essential. It is as close as possible but outside of the boundaries and corners marked by the red containers. If you get overlapping information, it is a sign that you missed the point or did a shortcut. Flying with excessive speeds faster than significantly faster than 80 Knots, Kruse may also trigger close calls overlapping. Checked your Video. As I mentioned before, in the video, you cross over to the HQ to train to save time. I understand the desire to speed up sometimes, but that is not how it works in aeronautics and the army. Anyway, the message " fly towards the ridge" should not be able to trigger before landing in front of the highrise. So I may have missed securing that trigger for unintentional activation, or you tried to skip the dull circles by ignoring them first. That may be possible, but I am not sure jet, by referring to the F-10 Radio menu after landing. -

Unfortunately, I have no influence on the ED store and cannot help in this regard. However, it seems unusual to me that they pay attention to the current status of the DCS installation. The final files are already 8 months old and I see no reason why DCS should be up to date to buy the campaign. Please try again at a later date. -

Check the Campaign Vidos on YouTube. Ther you her a lot of radio communications. Also, in the Videos of the first Campaign SPRING 2025. https://www.youtube.com/@lowlevelheaven I used AI voice in the campaign, unlike in this informal video, which is out-of-the-box text-to-speech. In the campaign, any computer-generated voiceover is manually improved. The campaign has been developed for years, with many changes occurring during the process. In this detail, it would not be possible without the help of TTS. This also allows us to make changes and improvements even after release, a nightmare with human voices only. -
