I've never experienced a wide FOV so guess I wouldn't miss that feature, coming off a G-2 it's an improvement with more corners available and superior vertical views. Apparently I won the lens lottery, they're so good I require glasses with this set. Had prescription lenses in the G-2 that made a difference but going without them the change wasn't as apparent as it is in the pimax, guess the larger sweet spot and clarity area makes it more noticeable. I'm putting in more hours siming with the lite than I have in with any of the other sets I've owned. Have some custom made experimental prescription lenses on the way for the win since glasses are not a long term comfortable option. I and my online flying pal both ordered within a day last May, we both think the C lite is a home run knocked out of the park as far as a worthy G-2 replacement. We've gone from only flying Friday nights occasionally to at least three times a week if not more since getting them in August. I understand there's problems and many people just won't fit certain VR products, it's VR and a highly personal and physical thing subjectively the eye's won't lie, but the way these guys come on here an try to make it right, you just don't see that happening much for any product. Not to mention the interest in our sport and collaborative efforts to integrate that which we require. So it's a job well done from my perspective team Pimax.

There's already a female crew member on one of the multi crewed AI heavies, closer to Roboblox characters in those birds. It'd be one thing if there was a universal pilot interchangeable and functional for each type, such as a single fighter pilot, a single trainer pilot, or a single Helo one, but there are literally a hundred plus different aircrew positions to do, basically its not going to be universally possible in my lifetime. But hey, we need a nail polish template and interchangeable hair styles.

Botched the landing big time but nothing from RIO

Embarrassing ejection of another kind? -
Thanks Calvin, survey filled out. Keep up the good work, it's getting there.

Don't worry too much, they're also busy releasing other products for other sims. Not like they are packing their bags and quitting the business. Go over to their discord, they're still very active. Even though I don't do those sims the stuff they just released is most impressive.

Was out snowmobiling a 100 mile loop trail south of Fargo and a ground blizzard developed on the far end, was a little disoriented on the flat valley almost featureless terrain. Fortunately I had a USAF tactical planning map stuck in the clear sleeve of the saddle bag over the fuel tank that showed the major power lines, because that was the only recognizable visible feature to navigate off. Between the map, the odometer, and the sun in the clear sky above eventually I orientated my way out of the ground blizzard.

Shiftall division was dumped by Panasonic a while back. https://www.roadtovr.com/panasonic-sells-shiftall-vr-startup/ -
Can't say HB, they released the Forrestal which is a pretty major asset, and for free.

Limit neck-turning abilities under G-load when G-effects is enabled.
Nodak replied to tribbin's topic in DCS Core Wish List
If the view is so restricted to the front in real life under G loads, doesn't that make a direct contradiction to training doctrine as argued above? Why would you train with an opponent starting on your six since it would create an extremely dangerous situation. Maneuvering in the blind right in front of another craft, sorry but not buying the can't see argument, a SOF would go nuts and stuff would eventually collide doing that sort of uncontrolled training. -

No kidding sherlock, but good BFM requires you not get in that situation in the first place, you already lost the game when they're already lodged on six. All the back viewing in the world won't fix that. -

What are you winning any way looking back at the guy who's bagging you? If he's even marginally good your more than likely toasted any way no matter what you try, so where's the advantage and why the concern? I want to see some fancy aerobatics and maneuvers done with the view locked to the rear, good luck with that. Big fat nothing burger just another limitation on other peoples enjoyment of the game, it's not suppose to be work. -
And if your using an AMD with an X3D capable chip don't use those listed settings, game mode must be on and same with xbox game bar in order for the X3D to work.

Limited time: 15,000 ED Miles offer for DCS with the Crystal Light
Nodak replied to jaapgrolleman's topic in Pimax
Have one without controllers, not necessary, you can do everything in the pimax home with a mouse if that's what your worried about. There are no settings that aren't accessible by mouse. May take a while to figure it out but it's a solid upgrade over a G-2, and tons of options and settings compared, you just have to get that magical combo and your set. But be aware you need a machine that can deliver, including a top notch graphics card. -
The toolkit hasn't had any development in two years, parts of it are obsolete and end up doing harm via conflict. For instance the NIS sharpening is already applied at 20% while NVIDIA has already implemented that feature directly in their control panel. You can get some weird halo's having both on in certain games where you won't be able to see dots, and who's going to know this is happening?

What's the saying, go woke, go broke. Go ahead and try it where others have already crashed and burned. All I need is Dylan in my back seat and I'm ejecting.
-
Thank you, good to know. Pimax really needs a manual for their play app.
-
Would it be possible to integrate a world scale slider as in the original toolkit directly into pimax play, not necessarily needed for DCS but it sure would be nice for other sims that don't have that option. Also can the app be made to show the current in game selected resolution such as 3456x3458 or whatever the selected games resolution currently is, without the toolkit or openXR app there is no other way to know the amount of pixels being generated for a given settings parameter in pimax play. Than we can ditch the toolkit in it's entirety, it's rapidly becoming a nuisance and obsolete.

Title is mistaken, it's actually version 1.33.01 your getting from the link.

Thanks Mbucchia, your the man! Hope you will put in the ability to save and share presets per game.

How to work out what impact a new graphics card will have on VR
Nodak replied to NorthernMenace's topic in Virtual Reality
Having done that route before, yes, you'll be able to jack up the graphics and it'll be noticeable. -
Bad tracking / floating out of cockpit, only in DCS: Crystal Light
Nodak replied to Keith Briscoe's topic in Pimax
Have you hit the 'horizontal recalibration' button in pimax play yet? It should be correctly labeled as center headset. -
Haven't tried it in DCS yet but another air combat sim setting the vertical offsets both +1.8 will make the displays resolution square, nearly equal pixel wise. Instead of running 12 million plus pixels at 3235x3826 with res set at 75% it's now running nearly the same pixels at 3536x3538 res now set at 82%. I find the display superior in everything including spotting, and its carrying the same load. The image isn't distorted one bit, same display area and same field of view. Only thing you may notice is the black border moved slightly down from the top, but your going to have to hunt to see it.
