  1. Had mine for over a month and could not be more pleased. Besides an easily correctable bad fitting to the human form not a single issue, it's been solid so far, using it nearly daily, never flown so much for so long. Just fantastic in flight sims.
  2. You'll get a gain especially if your video card has lower Vram, it frees it up for more usable Vram while in game. The more Vram to burn the faster she churns.
  3. Updater don't work, a known issue, hasn't for quite a while.
  4. My light's firmware is 1.0.7 from pimax play version 1.28.01.01 which they yanked fairly quick, but I'm still running it, can't see anything bad or broke in my use.
  5. Yeah, the software is bugged, does the same thing getting stuck in smoothing mode for me, can't get back out no matter what the settings selected display. Best way is to fire up a completely different game and than it seems to switch. Otherwise it takes multiple attempts and selections of settings applied to get it unstuck. It doesn't get stuck every time but when it does its a pain to get out. Also pay attention to heat levels in 120 hz mode, several users have reported their screens on the left side blow out with the cord connection area getting extremely hot. I've only messed around with smoothing on in 120 mode, seems to keep cool with frames locked to 60, and still getting that 120 smoothness.
  6. If you open the launcher this weeks update is already in there, they apologize for another delay in para 2.
  7. Make sure your USB plug is in the highest speed port you have, it runs the tracking cameras and needs as much speed as you can give it. Most older ports only do 5 Gig, you'll have much better results if you can give it at least 15 Gig data rates.
  8. Safest bet is to use the games sharpen filters first above all else, no one knows the specific game graphics like the games coders. There's always a point of diminishing returns when sharpen is overlaid and over done, than it's 'Welcome to Shimmer City.'
  9. ED may not have any competition, but there sure is a long trail of dead sim bodies on the way here, be grateful they never chucked it in like the rest.
  10. Fly with your active game screen as small as possible on your monitor, less motion on it the better. It loves all the internal LED lighting from my new build with glass case, the keyboard, and the newer Virpils that light up, can fly in the dark with no room lighting.

    Livery Pack

Much appreciated, just bought it recently, what a beauty to fly.
  12. Also the possibility the kill stars were attributed to the pilot currently assigned to the airframe, seen it done before.
  13. Good luck on your motherboard and the 14700K, just be sure your not in a catch 22 situation where you actually need a 12000 or 13000 series chip to get a good flash going so the 14700K will work. If your home building might want to make sure whatever board you do get has easy flash capability built in. Board makers really fail these days in keeping their product up to date with the latest cpu's. No one really wants to build specifically to 14000 series since its a dead end.
  14. My big question is if it's already up for sale, than where are the reviews and videos of the terrain? Release the hounds already, there's not much to base a decision on.
  15. Keep in mind pretty much all Vive HMD's don't support openXR, can't imagine being stuck with a steamVR only option these days, wouldn't go without the OXR Toolkit, some really good stuff for us sim guys in there.
  16. Reloptix US based will have a set very shortly for Crystal and Light, they're finalizing the design and fit. I like them because they can do a formula to integrate readers for us guys who have problems with both far and close vision, not many lens crafters do this.
  17. Seems they were caught by surprise with the sudden demand for PCVR Crystals. That's what happens when you listen to your customer base, good on you Pimax. Should have mine by August, too busy in June and July any way.
  18. Getting into a touchy area, part of the fix with the second version of the cable is putting in a signal booster in the little powered box. That right there tells you the original was never quite up to spec for sending a signal, neither the second version.
  19. Could be the HMD itself, not all in built stereo overlapping is equal. Put your left hand left to the left of your head and shut your left eye, you no longer see it either, the nose kills your stereo overlap in that part of your natural FOV. If you have an Aero the overlap is among the lowest.
  20. If you want the pass through, you need to get the $10,000 version, cause the retail version only has two lower res cameras doing it. This thing will never cut it for simulation, it's got fantastic lenses and screens but that's about it, good luck with the in built tracking using only two cameras.
  21. From what I recall Pimax is the only one in the industry to dare deal with canted screens, and there's some sort of physics problem that must be overcome, and it involves your actual physical IPD. If your outside normal ranges the further you go the larger your problem becomes. Curious what your actual IPD is, might be why some people have the issue and others don't seem to see it.
  22. Some of the newer 1000+ PSU's have the special single cable direct to the 16 pin format power hungry GPU's, it's 16 pin on both ends and eliminates the triple or quad cords with its own adapter. A real life and space saver and they're already rated for 600W. Makes for a nice clean build.
  23. If you take the largest super tanker and set it at speed in the seas you can fly into it's wake trough just a few feet below sea level in a Huey.
  24. You couldn't even rent and fuel up a puddle jumper for the price of a module. Way cheaper than buying an aircraft, lessons, and keeping currency, and your never getting to pull a trigger at any price unless your signed a multi year commission. From that perspective it's dirt cheap, and you can fly and test any thing you want.
  25. The Reloptics lens makers for VR can put a reading glasses effect based on a ratio they calculate, slicker than snot in the set I use. I stuck with my opticians recommendation for magnification level already printed on the prescription data sheet.
