  1. Looks like you've got it just about spot-on, Pedro. Not bad for only a week of work!
  2. Just curious, why do you insist on buying the DVD version? Are you aware that both the d/l and dvd versions have to be activated online in order to play, and both have the same number of limited activations? In fact, if you buy the d/l version, and simply burn the install files to your own dvd, you'll have the same exact thing thing as the DVD release you're waiting for.
  3. Yes, I saw the other posts concerning the map you're making. A big congratulations, not only is the map looking to be a masterpiece, but it's being printed and published by TFC as well! That's a pretty spectacular result, and one that was earned through much hard work I'm sure. (BTW, I plan to purchase it when it's available :D). I'm also glad that v1.1 of this campaign is still in your plans. So I went for another flight in the Ka-50 tonight, attempting the final mission of v1.0, after spending the last few weeks with LOFC2. Unfortunately, I returned without much feedback, because I lost one of my engines due to vibration right as I got to the BP, after about 20 minutes of flying! I guess I must have sucked up too much dust on the way there. A little odd, since I flew at about 50m RAlt and 250+ kph the whole way, but sometimes luck isn't on your side I guess. It was still pretty exciting, however, since that's the first time I've ever encountered engine vibration, and it was fun trying to get the bird back to base. I managed to limp back to within 5km on the remaining engine, but unfortunately, in a moment where my attention was focused inside the cockpit, I struck some powerlines with the fuselage. Thankfully the rotors were still intact, and in fact I didn't see any visible damage from the strike, but I lost too much airspeed by flying through the lines and was forced to perform a soft landing in a dirt field. Didn't fire a single weapon nor see a single enemy, but an exhilarating experience nevertheless! I'll try again and hopefully return with some real feedback soon.
  4. For what it's worth, I haven't noticed this stutter at all, neither in SP nor MP. And I just got out of a MP game during which several a/c were shot down, no stutters.
  5. It might be possible to lase targets for Kh-25's fired by the Su-25. AFAIK Ka-50's can already do this for eachother in multi. Besides that, none of the aircraft in FC2 are modeled with enough sophistication for lat-long coordinates to be of any use.
  6. Current steerpoint # is shown on the nav panel at the bottom right of the cockpit. Look it up in the Su-25 avionics section of the flight manual. Edit: Beaten yet again!
  7. IIRC, they are modeled with enough detail that your trepidation was warranted :D.
  8. Read this post again: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=873408&postcount=11 It contains pretty much all that needs to be said on this subject.
  9. There are a couple of problems with sound in Black Shark 1.01. First and foremost is the outside sound bug, which happens when you first start the game, the sound you hear inside the cockpit is what's supposed to be the sound from the outside; in other words, it's loud as hell. This is correctable by toggling external views (F2), which restores the inside sound to it's proper attenuated level. Secondly, you often hears things from inside the cockpit that you shouldn't, such as the burning noise when you fly by a fire (afaik, shouldn't be audible over the engine and rotor noise from inside the cockpit), the impacts of low caliber shells on the ground near you (again, definately shouldn't be audible from the cockpit), and things of that nature. Basically, too much sound from the outside world is audible from the inside of the helicopter. Of course, this is all the opinion of someone who's never been in a helicopter his whole life, and I would welcome being corrected by someone with contrary experience. As far as the sound in FC2, as far as I'm concerned it's just about perfect. High frequency sounds are attenuated within the cockpit, while the bassy low frequency rumble of large explosions can be heard (sometimes more like felt) from hundreds of meters away. Some have complained that engine and mechanical sounds (flaps, gear) are too quiet in FC2, which is an opinion that I understand, but do not share. In short I really can't wait for this new sound engine to make it's way to DCS :D.
  10. This too. I'm half way through the 1989 Su-25A campaign, which has been very enjoyable so far, and easily eclipses any of the campaigns I played in FC1 or LO. In fact as soon as I saw that there was a 1989 campaign I knew instantly I'd be getting my $30 worth. Furthermore, some of of the single missions are just epic! For example, Black Sea Battle, a Su-33 mission, involves an engagement between a Russian and an undersized US carrier group. As one might imagine, this mission isn't kind on lower end PC's: dozens of aircraft, both friendly and enemy, fill the sky as constant streams of antiship missiles skim over the sea in both directions, while radio calls (both scripted and automated) keep the radio busy. Multiple mission objectives mean aeriel refueling and studious note taking are both necessary. Truly more of a mini-campaign than a single mission.
  11. I too find myself grinning ridiculously after every bombing run in the 25. Cheers c0ff!
  12. There's only one patch, 1.01c EN (assuming you've the english version).
  13. Agreed; the Texture setting affects the quality of most of the cockpit, while Cockpit Resolution only affects the Shkval (and in BS the ABRIS).
  14. Wow, this is very interesting, since AFAIK Black Shark doesn't have such a model. At least, I recall reading previously that wind effects due to hills were not modeled. Presumably this too is being ported to Black Shark with the compatibility patch? Or am I mistaken and this is already in DCS?
  15. Try "C:\games\LockOn Flaming Cliffs 2\bin\x86\stable\simulator.exe" (as per above)
  16. Yeah. Go to your control settings, axis tune, and switch trackir z-axis from z-displacement to zoom.
  17. Don't know, but FYI, as of the latest patch for DCS (and presumably this is true for FC2 as well), external utilities are no longer required to enable multicore support in Vista/W7. Edit: Beaten :)
  18. These have been a joy to read, and I look forward to your next one!
  19. You can legally download and install the game without buying it. I don't know if that's a solution for you, but it will give you the manuals. FYI, buying the game simply gives you a serial # which you can enter to unlock the game's full functionality.
  20. No. The map in FC2 is completely different from that in FC1. The only way is to manually remake the FC1 mission with the FC2 editor.
  21. A link to the FC2 manual should be in your FC2 folder in the start menu.
  22. No, you will not be seeing a 100% boost, but you should definitely see some noticeable boost. I saw something like 30%-50% FPS gain with DCS:BS when upgrading to W7 from XP, and FC2 uses the same (but upgraded) engine.
  23. The FAQ is wrong (or at least confusingly worded). I upgraded to FC2 with just LO1.0 installed.
  24. Welcome! Yes it's great, and it's only going to get better :D.
  25. Yes. You can even do a full install and access every part of the game that doesn't involve loading a mission without having bought a key.
