  1. IRL we spend a lot of time checking the fuel and have a bingo for RTB but we also have a figure where we would no longer start an intercept on a target and it was a lot to avoid the problem it used to be about 60%fuel. If you run out of fuel it's almost the same as getting shot down just easier to survive. The reason I said it's probably not a bug is because as one of the ex technicians said it's not like a car if you run out of fuel you have to bleed the fuel lines to fill then all up prior to trying to start it. As we can repair anything in 3 mins it should probably work after that. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  2. I use a thrustmaster twcs when I am on the road it has the rudder bar on the throttle and with practice works quite well. Not quite the solution you are looking for but I do find it better than a twist stick. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  3. Actually fwiw LAX does turn the out of use ILS off. I once got a last minute runway change and when we asked about the lack of indications they literally said oops sorry we are turning it on now. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  4. No and we have been complaining about the NVG view in VR for a while hopefully they will fix it and reduce the size of the circle so you can peek below them for the instruments. Unfortunately the mods break integrity anyway. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  5. In real life we were taught never to fire a Fox 2 if your wingman was in the HUD field of view. A fox 1 was more useable due to stt but still balsy shot and you still need decent angular separation. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  6. What Sandman said and to add slightly IRL if you are flying decent combat spread then you know which of you are locked by the bandit, if you are 2v1for instance, unfortunately this is not the case in DCS. It has been a limitation of the simulation since I really started flying multiplayer a couple of years ago and while I am sure ED are well aware of it I think it is probably beyond the scope of the current software, but I live in hope [emoji848][emoji848]. 7. Use the radio menu but you need to be close. Unfortunately as the hose is not already out, like it would be for real, it's hard to get to the precontact position about 10ft behind the basket without a basket there. Maybe eventually ED can leave the hoses out and we can do silent procedures and not bother with the radio. This was the easiest way in reality to Tank and the way it was done on every exercise and Flag. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  8. If you meet head on in a min separate pass and both turn the same way as in both turn right you are in a rate fight. If one of you reverses the natural turn towards the other then you are in a radius fight then you need to slow down and pull max g possible in the old days we would use flap but that's automatic in the F18. Sorry can't access my brief on the phone. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  9. Depends if you are in a single circle radius fight or a 2 circle rate fight. Rate fight you want corner speed. Radius fight you want min radius which will be near your 180. For corner speed I would check Natops but 400 sounds about right remember tho that sustained vs snap very much depends on the fight and what you need to do. You can sustain higher rate descending to the ground which is why most rate fights end up at the deck. Hope that helps a bit. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  10. DCS is a simulation and is there to be enjoyed. If you wanted true realism then you would have to get rid of the black pixel indicator. In reality it is virtually impossible to spot an A2A gray aircraft pointing at you as he takes a shot. In ten years intercepting ground attack aircraft I never got shot in the face. In DCS it is relatively easy to look for the pixel in the direction of the spike. This is just an observation as currently I think we have a pretty good balance. 11. No offense meant, no track meant it was the obvious question. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  12. There was definitely wind in your server / mission to produce an error was there else TAS and GS are the same. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  13. I see the NVG field of view for Non VR players has been fixed to show a circle so you can see around the goggles for the rest of the cockpit displays. In VR however the field of view of the NVG's is the whole view so you can't see underneath the goggles. This means the MFD's are useless with the goggles on. In reality ( 1992 -2002 when I was on the Tornado ) the field of view was way less ( Wags picture of a circle in the F18 mini update non VR looked about right ) so you could easily look under the goggles to see the radar display RWR etc. Please can we fix this there was a fix available however it breaks integrity so is useless for those of us who play multiplayer. 14. Unfortunately NVG s still cover the whole field of view in VR hopefully this can get fixed for next update. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  15. Unfortunately that is the way it was with NVGs ( certainly 1992- 2002 ) we read the instruments and radar screen under the goggles. It looks like ED have fixed the goggles view in Wags latest picture so we may finally get useable NVGs . Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  16. We'll I have trained against every one of the western radars IRL and none of them perform as well as they do in DCS. Still not complaining DCS is consistent and makes them all great [emoji16][emoji16]. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  17. Interesting because the western radars are all far too good. Yesterday the F18c was picking up F4 aircraft at 75 miles, not realistic but hey I have never complained about having a good radar [emoji16][emoji16]. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk

While you are making these excellent changes is there any chance you guys could put a fix in for the NVG's in VR. The view should look like a circle like you are looking through a pair of binoculars. You should be able to look a underneath them to see the screens so you don't have to keep turning them off. There was a simple mod available but it doesn't pass integrity check.
  19. Have you tried the hear in helmet option that's what I do. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  20. Ok I will keep on pushing tanks with the gazelle. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  21. Yep I guess I am just a bit frustrated by having a radar with zero lock tenacity and RWR that is garbage and then I see a load of bug reports that tbh I could happily live with for the rest of my time flying the F18C. I just want an F18 that can operate in multiplayer like an F18C is capable of. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  22. Well in high turbulence it's normal for the control surfaces to move around a lot as the FCS is trying to keep the aircraft steady, as it operates a manouver demand system. If you don't put an input on the stick it trys to keep the same attitude. It should be keeping the Aircraft stable not making it unstable. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  23. Need an SME to comment the F3 had 60 degrees of authority in High and differential braking was not really a factor. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  24. Yes it could happen in an F18 but unless you are gonna glide in and happen to land as the engines flame out then this so called bug could effect you, except it is irelevant IRL you are gonna hand it back to the engineers and grab another jet if one is available. It's as relavent as me pushing a tank with a gazelle at only 3 knots dammit Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
  25. What I mean is if NWS is engaged it will keep the aircraft straight ish so if you want to see the differential brake effect turn off the NWS 1st and then try it, if doesn't turn then there is a bug for sure. If it does then you need an F18 pilots feedback as to if it is how the aircraft behaves IRL. Sent from my Moto Z (2) using Tapatalk
