  1. Brings up another good point. Would be nice to have force feedback vest that I could feel my guy taking hits, or just general vibrations.
  2. Did you save the track for that? Would be awesome to experience in replay.
  3. So I think that's what killed my Rift on my main hard drive. I ended up installed an OS on a second hard drive and doing my oculus stuff from there. So the question is - how did you kill your displaylink drivers? I removed what I thought was the drivers in control panel->remove applications, but that didn't seem to do it. So hence installing a fresh OS on a secondary drive.
  4. Have you tried with the VR preset? It's actually not bad at all. Will check my settings tomorrow when I'm at home and check mine.
  5. Are you using the VR preset in the system tab? Its right next to low, medium, and high. Or are you using customized settings there?
  6. For me I usually look ahead for a good hiding spot to hover in. Then I drop collective a bit and pull back cyclic to slow down. I use the airspeed indication on the NADIR to make sure I'm in auto hover parameters and then slowly move to my hiding location. Then establish auto hover. I usually make sure I'm lower then needed. I hop in the commander seat and turn on TV. I then turn off auto collective and rise just enough for the TV to be able to spot targets. Find them, and take them out.
  7. Will test more this week. But flew about an hour in NTTR with the Gazelle and had no issues reading the gauges with 1.5 PD. I also flew my squads mission night with VR in 1.5.4 with VR again using 1.5 PD and was able to read the guages. Are you using the VR preset?
  8. Is FPS shown during flight per eye or per unit? I was doing some flying in the 2 today and it seems like it was stuck on 45 and wasn't moving higher or lower even though I was flying. In 1.5.3 it would move up and down and go between 30-60...which seems like it was for the unit, but in 2 it seems like it's either not working or maybe per eye?
  9. Correct. I've done about 60 grass landings to test it and it's all good.
  10. Yeah was something I thought would be cool to do. Trying to think of ways we can use VR outside the cockpit. I think it'll be cool in the future if we can do actual pre-flight walk around checks of the aircraft to make sure it's all good. I have my pixel density at 2 usually and don't have much issues seeing the gauges. So I guess it depends on setup.
  11. So I had this concept in my head for a bit of time and decided to make a video to introduce it. Check it out: It'll be cool if we can get an airsoft or similar objects and have them work in DCS. I think it would be nice if there was a way for the oculus rift to detect the weapon and have it also detect when it's firing. In theory all the pieces are currently out there....we just have to put them all together.
  12. What is your pixel density set at? The higher the number the better the gauges should look. I usually use 1.5 or 2. Make sure you change it in 2 as well as 1.5.
  13. Dimitri said it well. Testing isn't exactly as fun as you think. So we usually have a portion we want to test. So last test it was syncing of the weapon box on the L version. So one person takes pilot seat, another takes commander seat. So pilot changes something on weapon box, commander verifies if he can see it or not. Guns are fired, Commander verifies is number of bullets decreases. Rise and repeat. Then test with rockets. If something doesn't work, code is updates, committed, and uploaded to our server. We have to close DCS, update our version, relaunch DCS, and rinse and repeat. So basically 2-4 minutes of testing, and 10 minutes of updating version of Gazelle. Not as fun as you think. But when we do finish testing, we will have some fun and fly around. But each testing run can take hours just to test a couple small thing. As soon as we have everything working, it will be released.
  14. The Mistral will be it's own version. So you'll have the SA342M, SA342L, and SA342 Mistral. Currently we don't have plans of making a version with Mistral and other weapons, but feel free to recommend that on the enhancement thread. Right now our main focus is getting multi-crew working and that is taking us a bit of time. So after that's done we can look at other enhancements that can be added.
  15. So funny somewhat related story.....lets go back to 1992. My friend just got a Macintosh LC II. They had this program where you can program you speech on it to run commands. So you could say something like, "file...quit" and it would quit the app. Well my friend always had this habit of putting me on speakerphone when I called him. I also knew he was always on his computer. So every now and then I'd yell, "Special....shutdown" and shutdown his machine. He never found it funny back then, but we laugh about it these days.
  16. It is a 1970's chopper after all.... Yeah I've seen this one before. They panel we have is good for now. We've got feeling out for better pictures.
  17. Currently the Mistral version has the same control panel as the gun and rocket version. Were going to use it for now until we can find a real world one to model. The Mistral will be it's own version. So there will be three modules: SA342M, SA342L, and SA342 Mistral.
  18. I have a map I use for testing that has different surfaces I can land on and take off. Both structures (building, oil rigs, etc) and different grounds. Most test flights I do about 40-50 landings. Plus you can actually skid the Gazelle on the grass both at low and high speeds. I got to experience it in the oculus rift recently while testing the multicrew functionality.
  19. That a newer avionics package that also has navigation aid as well (moving map style). I know it's been requested in the enhancements page already - so we'll see. No promises.
  20. Yep on the latest update on 1.5.4
  21. Killer whales with lasers on them does sound pretty good.
  22. Perhaps a shark with a laser on it? Right now we seem to be suck with ill-tempered bass.
  23. Maybe with oculus touch controller we'll be able to do something. Will be cool.
  24. Yep, I'm glad it's been toned down. The Gazelle is a light helicopter and it shook it around pretty bad. She feels awesome to fire the rockets from now.
  25. That is our plan to do for the flight controls. I didn't really look because I was having such a good time having someone else fly. I'm not sure about the technical abilities to make the mouse work. But once the basics are done, it's something we can look into.
