DEM (Starter) three positions switch question
Mt5_Roie replied to BaD CrC's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
In case you screw up and need to restart the startup process. So try only waiting 5 seconds after the fuel pump starts. If you turn on the starter, it won't work. So you need to vent for about 10-15 seconds before trying again. -
This is why we can't have nice threads. People...this thread is for the changelog. Please don't hijack it with install issues....put that int he bugs subsection.
-
So I might have spoke too soon. It's on the request list and we'll look into the feasibility of it. But we have lots of others things to fix first.
-
I have the jetseat....it's worth it. Working with Andre and his team to get simshaker working for the gazelle.
-
I recorded a quick video on my laptop.

The one on the panel is the switch to activate it. The button on the cyclic is mapped to "trim" (t). Don't forget to also set your timmer controls as well (up, down, left, and right).
-
In a future release yes.
-
It's already in the bug thread...already made it to the master bug list.

If I have time this weekend I'll make a video. It's not that hard.

DCS Gazelle English Cockpit Mod V1.0
Mt5_Roie replied to specterStudios's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Will have to check it out. But I have to say, my french as never been better! -
Moderator - can we close this thread so it doesn't get bigger.

Very interesting...try zooming in closer to see if it comes back.

So here's a basic mission I created to use with the Oculus Rift CV1 for a video. The situation is as follows: Part 1 There is an active heist going on at the Luxor hotel. Ground forces are moving in but need you to scan the street and take out any enemy vehicles. The financial sanity of Las Vegas depends on your success. Don't worry about blowing up enemy vehicles - its Vegas after all and people love seeing things blow up. The enemies are reported at waypoint 1. The mission will start in auto hover facing towards them (make it easier to shoot the video this way) Part 2 The Groom Lake guys asked that you go over to the hoover dam area (WP 2) and investigate an "anomaly". Apparently one of their experiments went a little crazy and they need you to check it out. When you get there, investigate the "anomaly" and then RTB to Nellis. VegasHeist.miz

As one of the voice actors I think the campaign came out great. It's a group of aircraft from different nations coming together for some conflict. Hence the difference accents and voices. I play Hannibal btw, the lovable JTAC with a drone.

Auto hover from cold and dark start up (or bug?)
Mt5_Roie replied to YoYo's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
So for the auto hover to work you need gyro aligned, AP turned on, SAS channels turned on, be less then 18 kmh, less the 30 degrees pitch, and VVI as close to 0 as possible. People often forget the gyro...thats a biggie because nothing else will work without it. -
Working on it.....and while I agree Mantis is nice, it would require setup and training for the team. For now, I'd rather invest our time in fixing things and making the Gazelle better and looking at a better tracking system afterwards.
-
Sort of....it's called the Mark-2 eyeball. Look around, if you see something coming at you - pop flares and take evasive action. Will look into the British questions for you.

**moderator, can we make this a sticky please *** Post your favorite Gazelle training or combat mission you've created here! We'd love to see it and test it out. Along with the missions, please leave a brief description and anything else that you'd think would be helpful. Looking forward your creations folks! Let try to keep other chatter to a minimum so only missions can be seen here please.

I try to avoid doing loops and roll in general.....I prefer an actual airplane for that. But light weight heli's are pretty fun to fly and there are some pretty cool heli demo team out there doing rolls and loops. But lets agree that we'll never agree on it...so lets talk VR instead. I actually have two joysticks set up, thinking about eventually consolidating to one soon. I have a Saetik X65F that I use for jets. Since you it registers your force for the stick, it's not ideal for helis. I use the X52 stick for heli's and WW2 planes. The X52 stick is between my legs and the X65F is on my right side. I originally had the X52 throttle mounted to a collective I built, but it need to be repaired and couldn't get the good sensitivty I need for heli's that I like. As for resolution, I started out with the DK2 and now have the CV1. The resolution has improved quite a bit between them. When not in VR I normally fly at 1080p. In VR the resolution is greater then that so for me, the resolution is pretty good. Now if your used to flying with a 4k monitor, then your opinion might be different. The real key here that you mentioned is immersion. I find this to be the biggest factor in VR. I've also reached out my hands and tried to grab things that weren't there. It's amazing how your eyes can trick your mind. I also find that flying heli's my stomach get effected more like actual movement. I only really get that with jets when flying upside down. Also keep in mind that for VR you have to have a really good computer. This is also the first generation of VR products hitting the market. Hopefully in 2-3 years the requirements will go down and hopefully the price will too.

Resolution is great. Most aircraft have been updated and are a pleasure to fly. Check out my review of most of them at:

Someone forgot to tell this guy. Remember the military version is a little more robust.

Gazelle checklist available for download.
Mt5_Roie replied to 1.JaVA_Platypus's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
If I recall correctly it's the temperature outside chart to maximum rpm. So if it's x outside, don't exceed y rpm. -
You never forget your first. Wait until you can do loops and inner loops.

Weapons deployment with Gazelle..and the ending has a special surprise.

I'm going to visit the Gazelle this June when I go visit my family in Israel. That museum is amazing if you get a chance to visit it. Updated our master sheet with the latest requests.
