  1. Also waiting on a Virpil throttle. This sounds like a great option, especially since detents seem to be on the way out for throttles in general.
  2. Man, this reminds me of going to Magic Edge in the '90s, they had full motion simulator cockpits based off the F-16 (including force-sensing side sticks) despite the game putting you in a Hornet. https://www.system16.com/hardware.php?id=832
  3. I had never heard of this but it's super interesting the idea of skipping a round every 50 rounds. Seems strange to me that the gun would stop dead when it hits the gap (isn't the M61 specifically designed to continue operating even if a round fails to fire?) but would it be possible to implement something like this under special options or in the ME?
  4. Yeah, that'll be a problem for anyone with Virpil's new grip.
  5. Isn’t the new behavior realistic, though? If you’re changing your sink rate without changing speed then your AoA should change, right?
  6. Welcome to NASCAR!
  7. That would be a cool option.

    F-14A?

I had no idea bypass valves were a thing in jets! They use them on turbocharged cars for that reason since closing a throttle behind the compressor will immediately provoke surge.
  9. I definitely found improvement with negative pitch curves. It’s a little twitchier on center but the added resolution at higher deflection is worth it.
  10. This aircraft does have a manual. There are many helpful tips in it such as where the flight instruments are located and how to read them.
  11. Yup, set up a head on 1v1 against a MiG-29 and I've nailed him every time, up to 50 or 60 nm if I recall. And that was on the old lofting behavior. Came straight down on him and he didn't even try to evade...
  12. Haha, glad I could help!
  13. The pipper is always acting as a real time gun sight, it's telling you where your rounds will land at the target's current range (assuming you have radar lock) if you pull the trigger now. The blinking diamond tells you where those rounds actually went at the target's current range. The difference between the solid diamond and blinking diamond is how far off your aim was for that shot. In pistol/rifle terms, the solid diamond on target is your bullseye, the blinking diamond is the hole in the paper. You still aim using your sights, not the hole.
  14. Psychological warfare, that's how the hornets want you to feel!
  15. The blinking diamond is a way of telling you how far off your aim was.
  16. Yeah, the Cat is roughly 30 times the weight of your average Cessna and 3 1/2 times the wing loading (including the pancake).
  17. I think there's an important distinction between "Jester shouldn't make range mistakes" and "Jester shouldn't make mistakes." OP is suggesting the former, others are suggesting the latter. I agree with OP though I can also see making mistakes when reading range of an unhooked target on the DDD. It's possible Jester's behavior is simulating that because he can't distinguish between hooked vs unhooked at present.
  18. What’re the sensors by the main gear on either side? They look like FLIR components to me but I’ve only seen them combined with the nose pod on the Ka-52...
  19. Last patch notes say this was removed, steering tee is on VDI only from here out. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=235973
  20. But even he said that while things like switch sounds can't be heard IRL they need to be there because you can't feel the switch click into place with your finger. Gotta have some kinda feedback.
  21. Increases contrast above zero would be more accurate. IR sensors that require cooling generally don't work at all without it. That said, there is such a thing as an uncooled IR sensor today but they're designed differently to work without cooling. https://www.flir.com/discover/rd-science/cooled-or-uncooled/
  22. How was this done IRL?
  23. Are you WVR? If so he's expecting you to lock the target with pilot lock on modes.
  24. I also remember a note in Victory's landing tips that it's a little more difficult to stay in the groove than he remembers, I wonder if that will be affected as well...
  25. I found the Viggen's changelog/update master list thread to be super helpful in the way it listed pending changes as well as patch notes for the current version.
