As some of you might have seen the open beta branch got updated to 1.5.5.
There were two major changes, one of which I'm happy about and the other not so much but it was inevitable. I won't be home for a number of hours but I'll make some assumptions from the real F-5 flight manual.
1. When the maneuver flaps are extended the aircraft will easily get into an inverted deep stall (think flanker) which can be recovered by retracting flaps and pulling like crazy. It can develop into an unrecoverable inverted flat spin so quick recovery is important. This will be fun to mess around with I think :D
2. Wing overstress has been implemented, so no more 20 G pulls at 700 knots. The G limit for a clean F-5 is 7, marked by a red line on the G meter. Assuming the flight model isn't totally overhauled, it will be VERY easy to overstress the wings at high speeds.
This is sort of a PSA but also a place to discuss these changes, I imagine the second will be a bit controversial to some :music_whistling:
