  1. insert two weeks maymay here
  2. Yep. It tries to fly towards the pixel in the center of the crosshair. Used when you can't lock a target or when you need to hit a particular point on a large target. It's about as accurate as iron bombs IRL.
  3. Finally we can start reading into the meat of the Viggen Thank you! Edit: The effort you put into the translation and formatting is very obvious. The sentences flow very smoothly, I never would have guessed it wasn't originally english. The visual quality is fantasic, much better than many other manuals I've read.
  4. OK that's a step in the right direction :D But they're not functioning in any form, right? Just there so they're ready when the code controlling them is added?
  5. I'll ask again, does anyone know the context of his post? Items left out of the 1.5.5 changelog? Stuff that's planned for 2065? Things we aren't getting this century? Am I the only one at least a bit interested?
  6. *Ahem* Did they add Mi-8 door gunners in 1.5.5
  7. Yeah, but I was wondering what he meant. It sounded like he was listing improvements to the game, has any new info been released about them? Or were they added in 1.5.5 but not in the changelog?
  8. ??????? Context?
  9. I get the DCS logo thing during particularly big lag spikes, sometimes triggered by staying in one view for a while hen suddenly zooming/looking around while the game frantically tries to load the requested textures. The only thing I can associate the tone with is the avionics inverter... but that's (supposed to be) always on.
  10. Honestly just a piece of code that goes into the tracks and adds up their durations would be greatly appreciated. I imagine it could also log key events like deaths, A-G/A-A kills, etc. It could even be an external program assuming the community knows how to read tracks. Then you could do some really fancy stuff like have it generate a pretty badge you put in your signature :D
  11. +1 They mentioned something about engine behavior in the spin, hoping they finally implemented compressor stalls. The engines are very temperamental in real life and will easily flame out, making spin recovery totally impossible sometimes...
  12. That's a very complicated way of saying "I want to trade modules"
  13. Kinda what I thought. Welp I'm just gonna be hopelessly over optimistic by assuming the Viggen is closer than we think.
  14. Assuming the pre-purchase starts around the livestream (November 28 ) and the whole "2-3 week pre-purchase" thing happens that puts like two weeks between the Viggen and spitfire releases. The spit is officially said to release on December 16th. Wondering if there has been a change of plans on LN's side? It seems unlikely there would be so little time between releases.
  15. It's nice to see so much progress after the recent swarm of pessimism towards ED :D
  16. As some of you might have seen the open beta branch got updated to 1.5.5. There were two major changes, one of which I'm happy about and the other not so much but it was inevitable. I won't be home for a number of hours but I'll make some assumptions from the real F-5 flight manual. 1. When the maneuver flaps are extended the aircraft will easily get into an inverted deep stall (think flanker) which can be recovered by retracting flaps and pulling like crazy. It can develop into an unrecoverable inverted flat spin so quick recovery is important. This will be fun to mess around with I think :D 2. Wing overstress has been implemented, so no more 20 G pulls at 700 knots. The G limit for a clean F-5 is 7, marked by a red line on the G meter. Assuming the flight model isn't totally overhauled, it will be VERY easy to overstress the wings at high speeds. This is sort of a PSA but also a place to discuss these changes, I imagine the second will be a bit controversial to some :music_whistling:
  17. Sniped by bignewy :D It's good to hear people will still be able to gift modules.
  18. The autopilot could not be simpler, just turn on the pitch/roll autopilot and.... that's it. It stabilizes the helo through rate dampening and attitude hold, all of which is handled automatically. Just fly as you normally would and enjoy the more predictable flying qualities :D

  20. Usually I pay attention to the ball in flight but here I was trying to focus on not dying ;) That, and letting the vertical stabilizer take the load instead of the tail rotor gives more power to the main rotor. For this reason I now do mostly left hand turns when I need power.
  21. Yes, the elevator thing is a very odd bug. However, exactly how many times has it effected you in the air? My guess would be zero, as it only happens on the ground when you're sitting still. Not very high priority IMO. I've never had the issue with lagged commands unless it's a core game thing.
  22. I use TrackIR 4 + the pro clip
  23. Slapped together video with very, very quiet audio for some reason. Things get boring when I start climbing but pick back up at 3:50
