  1. I for one could not replicate this problem. I only have problems when the carrier is on a certain heading, regardless if it is the single element or not.
  2. I am also working on a small training campaign, akin to my Mirage F1 training
  3. I've just tried it, it works as expected - RPM_NEEDLE is the 100s of the RPM and RPM_DIAL the 1000s. So if you want to catch an RPM of say 1300, you have to check RPM_DIAL = 1000 and RPM_NEEDLE in Range 1250, 1350). Not ideal but a bit more precise and better readable in the triggers than using cockpit arguments 22 and 23 to check the position of the needles on the RPM dial in the cockpit. Thanks again Eduardo Cheers Carsten
  4. @Rudel_chwThanks so much! I had found an old post by you, where you describe how to read out the params with DCS BIOS, but I failed miserably. This helps a lot - much easier to work with param triggers for RPM than argument based triggers, checking the position for the needles on the dial.
  5. Hi, can anybody tell me the cockpit param to read out the current RPM?
  6. A moving ship not only makes it way more realistic, it also makes flying the landing pattern far easier. 25 kts carrier speed plus 10 to 15 kts headwind really work great.
  7. I had the honor to participate in the beta test last year and can say it was fun to fly and in the end made me a better Kiowa Warrior pilot

Do not set the carrier on a heading between 180 and 270 and you should be fine. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/375371-cannot-catch-a-wire-think-i-found-the-reason/
  9. The wing vortex is still visible in the original spread position, even with the wings folded. See attached screenshots.
  10. No, Casmo just verified it on his live stream. It works in quadrants 1,2 and 4. The problem only occurs in quadrant 3, 181 to 270 degrees
  11. Many here, including myself, have the problem, they cannot catch a wire in self created missions, while they trap nicely in the default missions. I did many tests from excluding mods to trying different maps. What I found is: I copied the carrier from the "Rising Sun" mission into my training mission - I caught the wire on the first attempt. I tried with my carrier: no trap. The only difference, my carriers are steaming SSW, the Rising Sun carrier steams NNE. So I turned the Rising Sun carrier 180° and did not catch the wires anymore. I then turned my carrier 180° and I immediately caught the wire. Winds were adjusted each time, of course. The results are reproducible - heading NNE: trap, heading SSW: no trap. My guess it has something to do with the algebraic sign of the x,z coordinates of the cables' start- and end points. Edit: Marianas WW2 map I also reproduced it on the Channel map: carrier heading SW - no trap, carrier heading NE - trap.

My Essex is the only ship in it's group and it doesn't work. So you mean there must be more than one ship?
  13. I also had it several times just a minute or two after launching a mission. Also, it happens as well, when a browser window is open and downloading something in the background, so sleeping network adapters aren't the issue.
  14. Make that 5, I also had it again during the weekend.
  15. Welcome to my CWG Sandbox - Rotorhead Edition https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3345107/ This is the follow up to my CWG Sandbox for fixed wing aircraft, this time concentrating solely on the helicopters in DCS. It encompasses a total of 45 slots aka quick missions, for 7 helicopters. The missions range from unarmed patrol flights, to troop insertion/extraction, internal and external cargo transportation all the way to CSAR and flown blown engagements in major tank battles. You will find 33 quick missions for the blue side and 12 for the red side. 16. No RCAF bases on the map yet. When they are and the Starfighter is out, I might add some. No plans for the Hornet though from my side.
  17. The strange thing is, it only happens in the late afternoon. No problems in the evening and now I also just finished 2 hours working on my mission.
  18. I am being kicked right out of the game on a daily basis now with the DCS Login Session expired error. This is starting to get annoying. dcs.log
  19. Hi! I would like to introduce my CWG Sandbox. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3344728/ It is basically 70, yes seventy, quick missions rolled into one mission file. Each slot equals one quick mission. The tasks range from simple intercepts, to deep strikes into highly defended enemy territory. All SAM sites provided by the map are populated with the correct SAM type (to the best of my knowledge). In total there are 50 quick missions for USAFE, RAFG and Luftwaffe and 20 quick missions for Soviet and GDR forces. Mission distances range from 70 to 700 nautical miles. USAFE A-10A 5 slots operating our of Wiesbaden (FOL) A-10C II 5 slots operating out of Sembach F-4E 5 slots operating out of Ramstein F-4E 5 slots for pseudo F-4G operating out of Spangdahlem F-15C 5 slots out of Bitburg F-16C 5 slots for a pseudo F-16A operating out of Hahn RAFG Harrier 5 slots for pseudo GR.3 operating out of road bases Harrier 5 slots for pseudo GR.5 operating out of road base and Gütersloh F-4E 5 slots for pseudo FGR-2 operating out of Gütersloh Luftwaffe F-4E 5 slots for a pseudo initial and Peace rhine F-4F out of Bremen (stand-in for Wittmund) and Pferdsfeld NVA LSK-LV MiG-21 5 slots out of Peenemünde and Laage GSSD MiG-21 5 slots out of Damgarten and Wittstock MiG-29 5 slots out of Merseburg Su-25 5 slots out of Kothen Features: + 70 slots with one quick mission each + slots for A-10A, A-10CII, F-4E, F-15C, F-16C, MiG-21, MiG-29, Su-25 + realstically populated Air defense sites + F10 options to enable/disable enemy AD + F10 options to spawn enemy QRA + measures to reduce performance impact + manual in PDF format + mission overview sheet in PDF format + recommend skins list Enjoy! P.S.: You can add planes to an existing group or swap the aircraft type, as long as the initial group/unit name is not altered.

  20. A dedicated helicopter version is in the works as well, btw.

  22. +1 for the Nike Hercules. It is mandatory for the new Cold War map. It was the backbone of the air defense well into the 80s, Germany was basically littered with Nike sites (I had one a few km from my home). So how can it not be "time appropriate"?!?
  23. Really looking forward to that file, as it will help us mission builders a lot. And I know how much work goes into it, I spent the last two days creating something similar for Lower Saxony alone Btw, do you happen to know, if ED will give us a Nike Hercules for the Cold War era? Imho it is absolutely mandatory.
