  1. This module's A2G is a mess, all these options are unrealistic so it's not a surprise they don't really make sense.
  2. Wholesome post.
  3. I have not fully confirmed it, but I suspect that CCIP/AUTO drops are off if your nav source is INS (default). Switch it to GPS on the HSI page and try again? Also your drop was not very good, try to put your vector on the drop line to confirm that it's not the issue.
  4. If the RB modules continue to work for now, but never receive any updates, and at some point you will need to revert to some older core version of DCS to run them, that might satisfy the contractual obligation so that you don't have to refund us, but obviously it puts a huge damper on all 3rd party modules. There is an expectation from players that modules will continue to work in the current DCS version, so that they can be used in MP, so you don't need a specific separate install for each abandoned module, etc. I would not be paying $80 a pop if this is considered acceptable. IMHO ED needs to be able to provide rudimentary support (module is functional in current version) if the 3rd party devs stop working on them for whatever reason.
  5. Paypal declined my refund request, but the latest firmware update solved the issue completely. You need to update the joy/throttle firmware.
  6. Many have noticed that the F-4 can take quite a few missiles and keep flying. In particular, I've put 2x R-60 good rear hits into an F-4 a couple of times, and it stayed in the air with no fires or visible damage. Obviously the damage from a missile is not clear-cut, but the F-4 is very noticeably stronger than similar airframes, that basically never survive a missile hit. I can't say if it's realistic, but it definitely is not consistent with other modules. Maybe consider looking into it?
  7. Speaking of which, when you tear a wing, it barely affects the flight model. I sometimes don't even notice, sometimes it introduces a relatively light wobble. Yes, I know I should never be in this situation in the first place.
  8. It's not a surprise that an elite/serious coordinated unit is able to maintain a 5:1 kill ratio against random people. Honestly, that's actually low. It's not a question of the airplane, as the Mig-21 is a worthy opponent for the F-4. Not sure about the Mirage yet. People are trying out their new toy. The numbers will probably normalize soon. Although Enigma's idea to make it cost 1 credit was pretty good. I have the F-4, but choose to fly the Mig-21 for balance and easy kills on newbie F-4 pilots for now
  9. There is an issue described in the thread below, where if you don't have a deadzone on your stick, extremely small inputs from being non-centered interfere with autopilot modes, or even prevent them from engaging: Could you add a FCS deadzone option like the F-4 has? It is both realistic and useful to work with our hardware.

  10. Yes, that was it. The menu can still lag a little bit, but the original problem is gone.
  11. Yeah, I have tried the BFM vs Mig-21 instant mission 10 times, and I can never get a lock for a head-on sparrow shot. I can't even get a good lock for guns from rear aspect. I need to study up on Jester usage with the radar. Meanwhile, the Mig-21 can get a head-on lock and shot with the R3-R pretty reliably. The radar must be super simplified, I can't imagine that the Mig radar was actually that much better...
  12. Where's the contradiction? The AI Mig-21 doesn't obey physics/energy conservation. Therefore, many BFM principles will not work as intended. This doesn't necessary mean it's hard to beat...
  13. Even a noob player obeys physics. But I'm not even arguing against fighting AI. I just think that focusing on AI specifically derails the discussion to be about AI rather than BFM.
  14. With how simple the AI is, and how broken the Mig-21 AI FM is, these are two different worlds. I'm not trying to disrespect people who are playing against AI, but I just don't think you can learn much this way. The AI doesn't obey physics, so many BFM concepts simply don't work well against it. It also doesn't do much interesting stuff, and just reacts to you in a simple way. I'm improving at 10x the rate since I started flying on ECW and dogfighting servers. It's also more fun. From the Mig-21 side, so far it's pretty easy to kill the F-4. Most people start rating you and lose when they get slow. They seem to struggle a lot to use the Sparrow. I'd like to know what actually works well from the F-4 side, as I'm slowly learning to use it too. When I start up the instant action BFM against the 21, I can just 2 circle it or really do whatever, and win. I know this will not work against players.
  15. I have increased local dimming in Pimax settings, which increases contrast(?). It has helped a lot, in case others have this issue.
  16. Looks like this thread was derailed by a pointless discussion about the AI and their FM, and other stuff. Not much here about how to actually win BFM against real players...
  17. Tracer visibility is very poor for me in VR. Especially my own tracers - firing the gun in the Mig-21, I basically don't see them unless I focus on the bullets specifically. I am using the Pimax Crystal. The tracers look much better in 2D. Are there some graphical settings that might improve this? Either in game, or for the Crystal?
  18. Jester menu head tracking often freezes when opened. When the menu is opened, it doesn't react for around 2 seconds to head tracking inputs. It then resumes tracking somewhere 12 o'clock high, which desyncs the cursor position from my head position. Very frustrating to use. I'm using the Pimax Crystal if it matters.
  19. The Russian cluster bombs are even worse, as their spread pattern is horrible. But these tiny bomblets should require a direct hit, so it might be correct. An important question here: does DCS simulate every single bomblet? Or does it do some averaging that might produce no hits even with a good drop? Currently, I consider non-smart clusters unreliable, and I would always drop at least 2 bombs.
  20. Try a running start from a runway before lowering your weight.
  21. I'd just say: don't leave it on. Switch it on briefly to get SA of search radars if you really need to. It's a completely reasonable way to implement and use this mode, unlike before the fix.
  22. I'm unable to check, but it should not be true according to what ED said. Only low priority radars (search, EW) should be omitted with search on, not all ground radars. You should still see track radars , i.e. the ones that can lock you up. I would still think that the most reasonable way for this to work is to declutter the display from low priority radars with search off, not just switch between the views, but it's a huge improvement, and is basically fine in practice.
  23. I skipped this mission, but the rest of the campaign worked fine.
