  1. If you fly high enough you can drop 8 Gbu38 on 8 different targets in one pass, with TOO and TPod, the IN RNG period being long enough to aim and drop 8 times.
  2. Since 7700K it is true. My bios has a default "Game Mode" which is a 4.8Ghz all cores OC, and 4.8 is near 5.0. BTW the quotes "all intel can OC easily near or over 5.0Ghz" and "I've seen a lot of Intel processors that cant reach 5.0, its owners later asking on OC Forums why" are not necessarly contradicting. But I feel it is starting arguing on futil thing.
  3. If you want to know how hardware is performing with DCS you need a DCS comparison. In 2016 it was done by tiborrr ( https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=157374 ) and he produced very clear and usefull boards compairing cpu's, gpu's, frequencies etc … Since that nothing usefull is available to compare HW performances in DCS. And DCS is not included in test panel of any testers teams. (only AAA titles, and at best on a website I've found XP11 being part of the test panel for HW testing) 1 thing that is now about sure for me is that Single Core Performance is just another synthetic benchmark that is not fully relevant in game. For exemple you can read here very often "AMD current stock Ryzen are equally or more performant in DCS than a 5.0Ghz 9900K because of Single Thread Perf". But it's just wrong. In the website I've readen testing HW with XP11, all new stock ryzen (3600x, 3700x, 3800x, 3900x) are about 12% slower than a stock 9900K, and all slower than stock 8700k, even 7740K ! So considering all intel can OC easily near or over 5.0Ghz at conservative Vcore and temps... while Amd can't … I personnally don't consider the Single Thread Performance valid anymore. But a proper HW comparison test on DCS, like tiborrr did, is needed.
  4. I join this request. Many Iranian units have Russian skins. Also other countries share same issue (for exemple French awacs, tanker, etc have US skins).
  5. Yes… much less accent than when a french AWACS reports being on station lol ! this radio message is hilarous to me ! (Private joke : Tu es Languedocien, et con, tu chantes en anglais ! Mets de l'huile !)
  6. Yes good news ! I've just bought the M2000c and Baltic Dragon's red flag Campaign so I've not started yet, but a mini Campaign in PG map sounds great ! I've just bought the module because good Rep, Razbam/AdA connection (converting french pilots use DCS's M2000c !), and ongoing work on the module, all this overcoming the fear that limited role would also limit the interest over for exemple F18c. I don't regret it's a superb module ! feels great to fly and operate it in all aspects. I now considerate it's a must have.
  7. For Lenux : the modified file for F14B with smoke-tails rounds. Same as the other, save original and replace here : DCS World\Mods\aircraft\F14\Entry\ (It should be the right folder, I don't have the F14 so for me it's in Coremods instead of Mods but the path should be right for you) F-14B.lua
  8. Yes answer is here in this page : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=242955&page=3
  9. For Lenux : modified shell_table.lua with smoke-tails for all M61 rounds (f15-f16-f18...) Save default file before copy there : DCS World\Scripts\Database\Weapons\ shell_table.lua
  10. I take the exemple of the "other" falcon sim, and the way it worked (I've not touched it since long time) regarding FFB was great. I remember you could feel the drop of a big LGB in the stick, and then immediately opposite wing heavy that required trimming. + feel of speed on elevators and stall buffeting vibs. Unrealistic but very enjoyable. So I'd say FFB with Viper in DCS would be unrealistic for sure, but can work great like in the above exemple.
  11. I did accomplish this mission - no fps issue. My cpu is at 4.8Ghz on all 4 cores. As I said try monitoring your cpu while flying this mission (all cores), because your cpu is supposed to be a good one, maybe the problem is elsewhere ? You can try to disable hyperthreading (SMT) because it's better for CPU performances with DCS, to see if it makes a difference. Concerning OC'ing your CPU I can't tell what is possible. If I had to buy a CPU today for DCS/gaming, I think I would buy a 9700K or 9900K (or what intel is making newer).
  12. Hi, I've just tried the 8v8 mission and no issue on my side wift rift CV1 (45fps + ASW constant) except 4 or 5 very short stutters that I give credit to the high static clouds coverage. With my DCS settings and looking at msi afterburner after the mission I never hit 100% on GPU or any CPU core (but it's with a low monitoring frequency - data recording every 2 seconds...). For info I use my i7 without hyperthreading (with 4.8Ghz oc), and regarding CPU loads I can see on this mission that the 3 first cores are used by 35-40% average and 4th core by 70% average. Maybe try with hyperthreading (SMT) off to see if it makes a difference ? Also maybe try monitoring your flight to be sure that your CPU is bottlenecking ?
  13. Best wishes MilesD for this interesting project. Other actual offers, 1 not supporting fully DCS FFB effects and way over 1000€, and the other not available and also way over 1000€ but that is seemingly fully fonctionnal, are a true cold shower.
  14. Yes ! But too much advices is better than not enough.
  15. 32GB. Even in singleplayer, a big mission will take more than 16GB. In exemple SP "Dynamic Training Grounds" in Persian Gulf map takes : all 11GB of my GPU VRAM, 22.4GB of RAM, and 31.6GB of Virtual Memory on my SSD. (but runs flawlessly) (I use max preload radius and VR, and I have 32GB RAM + 32GB Virtual memory on SSD that I think I will probably increase setting to 48GB soon…)
  16. I've readen on other post that you could try to do : "Left Alt + Enter" to come in true full screen and solve this issue.
  17. Seems that this bug is back. Ural model 4320-31 armored can't take hit from gun (F-18 M61) even at "point blank", gun hits are not registered at all. It can only be destroyed by bomb/missile or … crash on it. EDIT : this unit is destroyed by A10c 30mm. So maybe it's on purpose that it can't be dented by M61 20mm HE ? But that makes this unit stronger than anything but battle tanks ? 4320-31-bug.trk
  18. No I think you just had luck. I've just tried to change chimney/smoke and blob is back. It can be inconsistent but it's still an issue. Now I'm going to mess again with driver until it works with smoke to 1... EDIT : cool, my last "procedure" worked again on 1st try, and untill now it lasts as long as I don't touch settings. (set chimney/smoke to setting I want - 1 - reinstall latest gpu driver - 436.51 - launch DCS to test : blob bug still here - reboot PC and launch DCS to test : bug is gone)
  19. Yes Jetseat device must be very cool and add realism. Still, vibration near stall is realistic with FBW plane like for exemple the A10c : in landing configuration (flaps full down) the A10c stick vibrates, in DCS with FFB like in real life (it's supposed to help pilot flaring the aircraft). But more important, FFB offers the change of neutral stick position when trimming (like in A10c pitch and roll, or F18c only pitch in landing configuration), and FFB offers the change in stick forces - of course with aerodynamic forces (like in any non FBW aircraft) - but also with some FBW aircraft like F18c (stick forces change per G : full stick backward gives around 3.5 G at 250knots but more than 7 G past 450 knots. Plus over 22° AOA the forces increase again). It's not implemented in DCS F18 but is supposed to be in futur.
  20. Yes ! DCS Hornet early access guide page 134 : "General Purpose Bombs (Mk-80 series): • MFUZE = NOSE • EFUZ = INST Canister Munitions (CBU and Mk-20) • MFUZE = VT o HT to 1500 • EFUZ = INST Laser and GPS Guided (GBU series) • MFUZE = OFF • EFUZ = INST or DLY1 HT Option. For the Early Access release, the Mk-20, CBU-99, and CBU-100 canister weapons default to use FMU-140 fuses. This is a fixed-setting fuse with an arming time of 1.2 seconds after release." As specified, for Canister Munitions you must set EFUZ to OFF instead of INST because early access FMU-140 fuses. INST setting messes up the fuses. EDIT : sorry I missread forum section.
  21. It seems to be also confirmed here : "All formats can be displayed on all displays, except the RDR ATTK and FLIR formats cannot be shown on the AMPCD" If source is valid ? ( https://wiki.hoggitworld.com/view/F/A-18C#Digital_Systems_Overview ) DCS F18c early access guide only says "capable of providing any MENU selectable format except the A/G RADAR display" so it will probably be modified.

    U.F.O.

The "ufo" incident at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Montana, 1967, with 7 officers' affidavits and declassified documents. At this time, with 1 week between two incidents, all the nuclear missiles of two strategic sites - Echo Flight and Oscar Flight - were disabled during 24 hours, following "ufos" incursion on the bases. Full conference of the 7 officers at national press club 2010 : The declassified documents relatives to this incident : https://www.theufochronicles.com/2010/10/ufos-nukes-connection-press-conference.html#cross-section

    U.F.O.

I mean between realizing phenomenon is true, and knowing all the truth / having contact like you say, there is only beliefs. It has been demonstrated scientificly since a long time (70s ?), following observation of more than supersonic ufos doing no shockwave, that it's possible with principle of "magneto-hydrodynamic". Experiments demonstrate that in water with low energy needs, and in atmosphere with maybe 100s or 1000 greater energy needs, you can move fast and suppress shockwaves or stern/bow waves for a boat. Here in water : The principle is to electryze the fluid environnement at short distance, and apply Laplace EM forces on it, so you make the fluid environnement moving around the device. The discovering of this principle is as old as year 1900. Scientific calculs guive a max speed, using this principle, of 17000Km/h (10500Mph) in thick air. Allegedly (scientifics talking to others talking to public...) USA own 2000Km/h underwater torpedos using this. Video in english showing the principle applyed to an aerodyne ("ufo") : This principle does not cover all the spectrum of what "ufos" are capable of, but only moving high speed with no shockwave.
