  1. It would require to get rid of pilot's head and put a camera in helmet instead. Easier to do in DCS...
  2. From my exp., since 2.5.6 update, scenarios in which performances are bad may be related to LOD "bugs" (lots of bugs in this beta update - visual and functionnal - , certainly because lots of changes). The worst scenario I've seen is using TGP or Mav cam above Caucasus forests, under certain angles. (maybe related to trees' LOD showing too much through MFD) There may be several other cases where performance drop (Also the bug where you land to rearm and performances are halved is kind of back) but I only experienced few. Ground shadows can be heavier (interaction/new lighting ?), Stennis bubbles a bit also. I've not tried over Dubai, I have to so I don't know, but Las Vegas shows no issue (while hunting ground targets on streets). Normandie is OK (trees are different, no LOD issue on them visibly, smooth distance transition - you don't see "waves" of tree LOD that travel bellow with you), Nevada is OK, PG to me is OK (all flights on iranian side), only Caucasus often overload system with added viewports. Comparing same settings VR 2.5.5 / 2.5.6 on TF51 free flight Tibilissi inst.act. FPS are slightly better with latest 2.5.6 (about 5%). With usage in 2.5.6 I changed my settings : shadows up (high), visibility up (high), ground shadows down (off). I try to avoid situations where system is overloaded, or functionnality issued (a10c rearm, F18c catapult-connex) and I enjoy the great graphical improvement with stable ASW/45fps. Some bugs are not avoidable (LOD bugs giving - according to distance - ghost units, trains, effects, stuff sometimes displayed on 1 eye only). I'm ok with some workaround.
  3. :xmas: Awesome update visualy. I just did a short 2D flight, water, lighting , shadows, effects (even gun impacts illuminate scenery) … breathtaking.

  5. To Moderators can we have a little hint about what "announcement" means ? Is it 100% never talked about before in newsletters ? Or is it official "work start" announcement of a module already in pipeline (like AH-1, F-4 …) ?
  6. I noticed the M2000 AI wingman (ai set to excellent) really struggle to spot ground targets. In same conditions (9750 feet high, strait to ground targets) a F18 wingman (without Tpod) spots ground targets at 4 miles away, while M2000 wingman at 1 nm away (at "vertical" to target).
  7. You have 16Gb ram + 11Gb virtual memory. Try to increase to 16Gb virtual memory as advised in Bignewy's sig : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=230471 It might help (maybe crash only Persian Gulf is related to low virtual memory issue).
  8. When you fly VR, untick Vsync in DCS / Options / System. It should be better.
  9. Here with an A10c - when in VR and looking at engines on fire, the flames are not "synced" between left and right eye. You can see it on picture joined if you cross eyes : the picture made with both left and right one will be perfectly clear except flames (each one is made of 2 different overlapping flames). Best is to replay the track in VR. track joined of engines fire. A10c-fire-vr.trk
  10. Light passes through folded mirrors, only frame border casts shadow. (see "hallow" shadow cast on CDU keyboard)

As an option, here is a "do script" that would work using MIST (you have to trigger a "do file script" at mission start and link the MIST file script you can find here : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98616 ) considering your group name is YourGroup and tanker group name is Tanker1, add a F10 radio menu to call the function for exemple "tanker rejoin us", that triggers this "do script" : local zone = mist.getLeadPos('YourGroup') local startPoint = mist.getLeadPos('Tanker1') local path = {} path[#path + 1] = mist.fixedWing.buildWP(startPoint, TurningPoint, 250, 5000) path[#path + 1] = mist.fixedWing.buildWP(zone, TurningPoint, 250, 5000) mist.goRoute('Tanker1', path) This will give to tanker the order to immediately go to your actual groupleader's position, traveling at 250 knots 5000 feets high.
  12. To me it's only too high with default seat position (near max up). When seat is lowered to max I find that the Hud is perfect (even in A/A weapon mode I don't need to lower my head to see gun/SW sights). And this way (seat in lowest pos. to see Hud) seems logical to me since the pilot seats in an armored bathtub meant to protect him.

  14. Loading in ME a mission with WW2 Assets Pack, required module warning did show "WW2 Armour and Technics" instead of "Assets Pack" (return to normal after exiting & launching DCS again).

I think like ManOWar… it's just dreaming but considering that the kuznetzov update is now sold in the Supercarrier pack (instead of being a free update like initially announced), that everyone (…?) wants a russian FF aircraft module… I'm seriously thinking a Mig29K or a Flanker D, maybe what was impossible yesterday is now possible ? (If the new module is a jet !…)
  16. Just a note : from IL2 Dev Blog #236 (01.17.2020) : "We're researching the possibility of moving the rendering engine to Deferred Shading tech." That DCS uses.
  17. Rockets, instead of outer wing MG151, already listed in commands (button B1 / Ralt + Spacebar).

Bignewy - there is a difference in rain drops rendering between 2D and VR : in 2D you have the little "static" ones that drop on canopy and don't move, AND the bigger "dynamic" ones that moves on canopy in relation with gravity and aircraft's speed. In VR there is only the little "static" ones. (see pictures from same track 2D and VR replay : 1st 2D 0 speed, 2nd 2D with some speed, 3rd VR 0 speed - with speed increasing little drops just disappear but don't move).
  19. If you use saturation for throttle axis, try to set it back to 100%. I noticed that previous update(s) did change this axis value. EDIT : No it can't be related to your issue, engines cut off even with some throttle applied.
  20. Just to add similar exp. but with il78m and mirage 2000c. When refueling is complete the basket immediately goes back to initial status : deployed instead of retracted (so it passes through windscreen and cockpit before you can react).
  21. WPN knob has no effect on SW "new" tone's volume (I just noticed it's louder and better quality than "before"). It just allows to turn off if set to zero, but SW tone is immediately at loudest setting if knob is turned. F18-SW-tone.trk
  22. Sorry it's due to wind. I've recorded 2 scenarios (with 1 Gbu38 + 1 Gbu12 on 2 T90 on same run for the 2 scenarios). 1st scenario there is ground wind, 2nd no wind. With wind the Gbu38 is violently dancing left-right 1-2 sec before hit, without wind it goes strait to target. Gbu12 goes strait in both cases. It's curious that Gbu38 and Gbu12 are behaving differently BTW !? 12vs38wind.trk 12vs38nowind.trk

Not totally out thread … I noticed since a while that the last second or two before hitting, the Gbu38 starts "dancing" left / right - the Gbu12 laser doesn't do that in same conditions (it goes strait to target untill impact). I thought it was maybe due to "ground wind" but the Lgb is not affected so … maybe to "simulate" less precision with Gbu38 ? (BTW, when aiming with TGP with area track, looking for closest contact between ground and target, Gbu38 hits on target IME)
  24. Yes I opened an oculusmirror.exe for right eye in addition to DCS'mirror showing left eye. Of course with 2 eyes field of view through HUD is wider and allow to see all.
  25. Hi! Sorry I tried but none of the synthetic pictures made by ASW is drawn on the mirror. I tried recording 60fps video from VR mirror with both FW190A8 and P51D but both video show no ASW artefact, while in the Anton there are constant artifacts with both eyes (F.E the most obvious is the sight is deformed by propeller) and no artifact at all with Mustang - both flights same with 45FPS + ASW. Also same with screenshot. No ASW artifact appears on VR mirror. I fear it's only seeable inside a VR hmd.
