  1. They just need to dump starforce, use steam, push everything, even beta releases to steam - more users in the game, more customers, limited key activations a thing of the past, more community support, servers that run in a virtual environment, win win win

From working on my map for months (dynamic causasus & dynamic red dawn), its between 40-60 moving&shooting units, stationary units you can have a lot more, and even more than that if you code in turning off the ui when clients/enemy AI aren't around, even though I didn't test after I built my dedicated server off my old gaming rig, us 16agr went against the f99th with over 30 players and 40+ tanks and units, no issues on the server, I think it can handle the full 42 player limit right now (fiber connection too) I have hundreds of units on my map (f10 map has issues.... pretty stupid)

  4. Can I run this map in a virtual server environment, I can use a rotation because it will exclude people that don't own it, so I need to host them in tandem. I want to build a ESXi server to host all the different flavors of map, right now I cant do this because of starforce and there exclusion of VM machines. This is preventing me from purchasing this map (2 copies, one for myself and one to host the server on) (I own pretty much everything DCS has to offer too...)

You should see a difference right away in oculus home (look at the carpet) when it boots up (I make sure oculus home is closed, open the debug tool and change the pixel override to around 1.5 or 2.0), put on the headset (oculus home relanches at this point), it will be clearer ( setting override 1.5 or higher) but 'in game' set the override to 1, don't have both running they wont override, they will stack (not good)..

The driver based pixel density is much more clear, since its a lower lvl option, try both you will see the difference, I think you need to run the debug tool first, with oculus home closed, then put on the headset after the debug pixel density change is done, oculus home boots up (and you will see a difference in oculus home), then boot any game, DCS look amazing with this!!!!! - you can read text in many cases

  9. Running beta server for a while (since friday), so far so good - its not crashing like before :-) (game is fun again!!!) , I think there was some weird crash with one of the viggan missiles hitting a boat (effects crash)

PLEASE let ED starforce guys know to open up VirtualMachine restrictions on paid maps, this is a HUGE deal - most multiplayer hosting companys run VM's, your counting them completely out! https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=183227 - this matters for all starforce maps (I own 2 copys of the map and I cant use it atm because of this) - I dont know where to else to put this message, the starforce guys need to know
  14. My server just crashed (again, and continuously every 2-3 hours for 6 weeks straight) and is empty of players because of it, thanks a lot guys I am not going to put any work into this game until its fixed, I cant, its stressing me out

  16. I leave my server up though, but have been playing Space Engineers for the time being lol (got a gnarly pirate ship on fountain core atm), waiting for a fix so I can resume working on my server.
  17. 5 weeks, and losing players on the server. I am resorting to saving all the assets(defense, SAM, Slingloaded items) between crashes in a table so when the server comes back up, the ground war stays the same, prob 2-3 hours of coding to get this working..... Hope you guys are making headway or the 2.x merge is right around the corner!!!!

  20. spawned is normal infantry, are you talking about loaded from the start, baked in infantry - I don't have 1 unit on my map thats like that Also, why would they be less interested in spawned objects? its a problem (this isn't a static game), plus spawned vehicles work fine
  21. @BIGNEWY , @ USSR_Rik , I ripped my scripts apart (disabled anything to do with connect/disconnect client filter lists), and determined with a high percent, its not the scripts (want to make sure) Ciribob just let me know about this, Sometimes when a player connects and another player disconnects at the same time, the same playerid is handed out which will crash the server. He says this happened on blueflag and throttling was the bandaid that helped it a bit. I just setup a trap to log it in a GameGUI.lua file. Will let you know my findings (trap is timestamp logging of the onGameEvent; --"connect", id, name --"disconnect", ID_, name, playerSide ) Sometimes people(blueflag, ciribob) mitigate it by throttling the incoming tcp connections outside the game, kind of above and beyond :-P (we do love this game though) Ill let you know more if I find out more, good luck with your load testing, I will try to be there to help with it. -Drex, aka afinegan
  22. Ciribob just let me know about this, that might be part of the AsyncNet.dll crash, and I just setup a trap to log it in a GameGUI.lua file. Sometimes when a player connects and another player disconnects at the same time, the same playerid is handed out which will crash the server. Sometimes people mitigate it by messing with the incoming tcp connections outside the game, kind of above and beyond :-P (we do love this game though)
  23. I disabled my scripts, it happens on disconnect, server stays up 2-3 hours usually then boom, so please keep this test server up for as long as it needs to until it happens (turn on all verbosity of all dll's especially AsyncNet.dll lol) -afinegan aka Drex

Base Capture/FARP(both) Event Not Firing sometimes with infantry, it just forces someone with a helicopter to sling load a crate onto the base which works (ctld spawn vehicle), but bringing ground troops to a base(which ctld is spawning the infantry, same command I think) that is completely empty should fire off the capture event, it doesn't sometimes. This only works sometimes. It is kind of odd (bug that has been around since I have been making maps in DCS, just forgot to report it)
