I'm really glad you got my point and were able to realize that what's true for one game is also true for another game in the same economical context. However, what's wrong with Greece? This is an Island built after a real island in that area, ok. But it was chosen because there are probably tens of thousands of island around the world looking like that. Rename locations in the editor and put it whereever you want. Problem solved. Ah, sometimes problems making people use bigger fonts are so easily solved.

I always wonder why anybody can compare a fun-shooter like BF with ArmA. People should realize that modern games are not totally refreshed on every release. Graphics and other engine parts are either gradually changed and the setting is slightly adapted (like CoD or BF) or you have a modular system like RoF or DCS. Development is to costly and time-intensive to create from scratch and use it just for one game. In the end BF3 is already just a makeover of BFBC2 which again is a makeover..... So nobody should wonder why BF4 is no revolution. It's evolution. Hopefully for the better...

Apparently they make a lot of changes. It seems the commander-role from BF2 is coming back. Most likely with artillery and probably with more direct options for helping and guiding players. You can control ships and flying will apparently be completely redone. There will also be more options to use and modify weapons and gear.

Yes it would matter, because ED would earn more money :music_whistling:

If either just would make a single game that had at least 1/2 of the players BF3 has.

I'm still not sure what to think about SimCity. I definitely like the multiplayer-part, but it's not very intuitive. Also the aspect with the upgradeable buildings certainly has it's pros and cons. The new Snap-To-System is a PITA. Especially for buildings like the train-station, which snaps to rails instead of streets. Logic in itself, but unlogic since your streets are the primary construction-basis, not rails. Same is to replanning streets. If you remove existing streets, buildings, parcs and installations snapped to it are destroyed as well. A small hint for making money: Only use medium density streets in commercial or residental areas, high density only for industrial. If you use the complete area this trick will give you about 70.000 citizens, but prevent crime and demand for parcs and stuff like that. I had a city with all the best installations for water, garbage, full recycling, tradecenter, 4 schools, highschool, 4 police & 4 firestations and even hospital and university with a net-income of about 12.000s per hour with 10% taxes. :)

I recommend the CH Products Hotas. You can buy the CH Fighterstick for a good start. It has a lot of buttons and it is very easy to program. The Fighterstick also has a 3rd axis, that can be used as a throttle. If you like this experience, you can increase your setup with the CH Pro Throttle. It adds a very decent throttle that is much more handy than the TM Warthog's throttle. Remember, the throttle of the Warthog is designed to be at leg-level. The CH Pro Throttle is designed for desktop usage and allows easy access to all buttons in every setting. All buttons and switches on the CH gear have a much lower resistance compared to the Warthog. This makes flying and operating the plane very easy. I'd also recommend some rudders, if you really want to get into it. The CH Setup is not cheap either. But it has a very tough basis, though it's all plastic. The electronics are very reliable as well. My first Fighterstick lasted 16 years. (And I only repaced it, because I wanted the USB-Version.) If you don't want to spend that much money, the X52 or X52pro is a great start. As a big plus compared to the CH gear and the TM Warthog, it also has a twistable stick for rudder-control. The software is probably one of the easiest on the market, but it has limitations compared to the higher priced competitors. With the A-10C, you may also run out of buttons quickly. For the price, it's a great HOTAS, though.

A10C new worn HD cockpit
Feuerfalke replied to RICARDO's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
That was exactly, what I was thinking. Super-luxury, but it would be really cool. -
I'd rather think that the price-drop arrived here, because in many countries easter holidays are just around the corner. At least a long weekend to spend with getting into DCS. For school-kidds there's also a week or even more holiday. I rather believe that the Huey will be released when it's finished.

Going from 32bit to 64bit is not a hardware-issue. Of course, if you have hardware that does not fully support 64bit processing, you don't profit from 64bit as much, but it won't hold you down either. I have Win7 64 bit on a 2001 Notebook and it works fine. @ Topic: I'm pretty happy with that roadmap - and right now, it's just that. Some steps closer than others, but still a good perspective.

The BF3 Engine has a different bias. And to be honest: even in its speciality - combat under 1km distance - the performance is pretty bad. Flickering textures are common and with a 8x or 12x scope, clipping errors are common, especially when moving view. Not to mention smoje that some players can see through, while it blocks the visiob of others completely. And physics... well... realism... er...... So BF3 is not really an engine worth wishing for in a simulation like this.

Noob question-Whats the point of DCS World?
Feuerfalke replied to Two-Six's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
IIRC you need to uninstall BS2, then install DCS and then reinstall BS2 on top. Note that DCS World now also includes an automated update-function. It will keep your simulation and modules up to date. One more great plus for DCS World. :) Yes, you use your shop-login for DCS-Multiplayer. You can set your Nickname independently in the multiplayer-options before or after logging in, btw. Good luck on retrieving your login information! If you can't log in, check out the support-forum. There are a lot of good people helping you out. -
Noob question-Whats the point of DCS World?
Feuerfalke replied to Two-Six's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I'll try to answer your questions from my user-perspective. Feel free to correct me. Whats the point of DCS World? To be able to create a unified battlefield for all ED simulations: BlackShark, A-10C, P-51 as well as Combined Arms. It's basically a modular system, that allows ED and 3rd-Party-Developers to create new content for DCS. Whats the diffrence between the DCS BlackSHark2 and DCS world? DCS World is the new engine and environment for DCS. the *free* download includes the SU-25T with the semi-advanced flightmodel. DCS BS2 is a module that you can buy in order to fly this helicopter in DCS World - online or single-player. Why would I want to go to DCS world at all? If you only play offline: Because it contains a lot of bugfixes and it is the basis for all coming modules, which will be "docked" into DCS World. Getting the Su25T for free is a nice addon as well. If you play online, you need DCS World to play with other Players and other players modules. I have DCS Black shark 2 now, I bought the upgrade last night. I can't log onto to the multiplayer parts of the game in DSC world or BS2. I get the wrong serial number/invalid account thing. No idea why. Once you bought the update and installed the module, you are asked to activate it. You need to enter the activation-code in order to fly. The multiplayer-connection does not automatically recognize your copy. I am starting to work out how to do it again and this includes setting up my control axes. Why do I have two system settings in the controls section "sim" and "game"? BlackShark2 is a very complex simulation. In order to attact more player, there is a very simple and a highly complex gamemode. The Game-Mode does include a radar and other helpers, that the original Ka-50 doesn't have. So it's only logic the commands are seperated for both gametypes. That includes axis behaviour as well. Why do I have the two seemingly independent sets of settings in DCS world? They are independend. But you don't need to set up both. If you only use the simulation-mode, then there is no need to map the game-mode at all. If you play the game-mode, don't worry about the simulation, unless you want to know more and are ready for new challenges. Do I need to set up the control axes FOUR times? No, 2 times, as you said yourself: Sim and Game. Why can't I log into DCS to look at my game/upgrade account or get a reset password from them are they having a holiday or something? How can I fix the multiplayer log in thing? When starting the game should prompt your for the key. If not, check out the support-section. I understand I need to get into the manage your serial number thing on the DCS web site and tweak my registered serial number things. I just can't log into the site. I could last night when I bought the game. I wrote down all the deatails as I typed them in and the next time I tried to log in it wouldn't let me. Check for spelling errors. And remember that the forum-login is not the shop-login. If you have problems logging into your account, check out the support-section. -

Did you change the fuel-state? In this case the rearming doesn't start before the fuel-level is corrected to your ordered amount.
-
The menu is used to give the orders. It does not show, what you have currently ordered or loaded on your aircraft. Correction: Uhm - sorry, I've only flown aircraft with empty loadout lately - the payload should be listed when loaded.
-

The beta is entirely voluntary and not necessarily representing the final product. If you don't like the ups and downs or changes being made, wait for the final release.
