  1. Bump, can someone from ED confirm that this is how it is currently? That info would be great while waiting for it to be fixed if it needs to be fixed, you cant read this in the DCS Manual
  2. This is a wierd one, I never had an issue, I have one of those replacement PS3 type ministicks in my Warthog throttle, however I dont have the TDC depress on that ministick but instead the grey one on the right side of flightstick instead.
  3. Can someone acknowledge this as as a bug and if so move it to the correct section? I really miss the green light that I could turn down the intensity on, used it as a green FLITELite finger light.
  4. Please make use of external lights a task (option) in the mission editor the same way like ECM using for example. At least three options, on, off or auto. Or even two, auto and off. That way you could make sure using triggerzones that AI flights turn them off when entering a combat zone. Since the last stable update my AI Hornet wingman flies into aircombat at night with his strobe light flashing regardless of me having mine off. That way we could manage while you are doing whatever overhaul of AIs use of lights that you are doing.
  5. I have also noticed this in the L39, looks horrible in VR.
  6. Do you mean a manual for the mission editor? If so its in the DCS Manual in the install. In the docs folder. The updated 2020 version contains a pretty detailed description of the mission editor.
  7. Ok, I never understood that there where two different flashlight simulated. Hopefully a moderator can move this into the bug section if it is indeed a bug as it seems.
  8. Can some moderator check this and move this thread into the appropriate bug section if in fact there is a bug regarding that you can not change the color of the flashlight to green and not dim it either in the last stable version? It is not a controller issue, the inputs are recognized in the software in the adjust controls dialog. I have attached a mission, a track and the dcs.log Hornet, flashlight color and brightness not working 2021-10-23.trk dcs 2021-10-23.log Hornet Flashlight Color and Intensity Dont Work 2021-10-23.miz
  9. Ok, but if you have the aircraft power on then, can you change the color and intensity?
  10. Is it just me or do the keybinds for changing flashlight color and intensity work in the last stable version? They dont for me, when I bring up the control settings they respond to my inputs but in the sim the light always stays bright white.
  11. Hello, I have made a mod that is to high poly for VR so I need to make LODs for it. I have set it up like this just to test: model={ lods={ {"Kb_9711CW.edm",20.000000}, {"Kb_9711CW_LOD2.edm",50.000000}, {"Kb_9711CW_LOD3.edm",100.000000}, }; } Kb_9711CW.edm is the highest detailed version of the model. The problem is that the model does not become visible in the mission editor in the window where you place units despite that feature is turned on. Its only visible in the static preview window where it rotates. How do I set up the lods so that I get the model visible in the mission editor so I can see it when I place it?
  12. Well this is a jungle and I dont understand everything your saying but I guess you are saying that it is ok to download and use free Sketchup models from 3D Warehouse. However a according to Skatezillas thread you must specify which original models you used and provide the General Model License as a PDF inside the mod structure if I understand correctly. And you must credit the original maker by name, its not sufficient to just say that the mod is made using models from 3D Warehouse. So if you used parts of multiple and dont exactly know which ones its a no go. Another issue is how do you provide proof of ownersship for models you created yourself? Do I need witnesses to sign a document that I actually did it myself? The way I interpreted Skatezillas post here was thay it was not ok to do anything of the exemples I wrote in the first post so Im a bit confused.
  13. That is the post that I was looking for but could not find. Thank you. No sharing from me then.
  14. I guess I better keep my work just for myself to avoid getting into any problems.
  15. Im having a hard time understanding what is ok regarding creating free mods for DCS. Is it ok to use sketchup models from 3D Warehouse as base and models from Thingverse for example without approval of the original maker? When reading their licence conditions I get the impression that you can not use the downloaded models for anything else than personal use. And also, lets say you make a trailer for a truck (as static object) all by yourself but for the texture for the tires you use the tire texture for the stock Humwee in DCS. As I have understood it that disqualifies the mod for public sharing, since the tire texture is the property of ED. Same thing if you use a headlight texture from a GAZ truck and so on. A violation of the EUA leading to banning on the forum and perhaps blocked DCS customer account. Have I understood this correctly?
  16. This is perhaps off topic, but you mean its ok to use models from 3d Warehouse for free DCS Mods without approval from the original model maker? I never understood the license text on that site. Not saying you have done anything wrong, just that I have been having some problems understanding the license conditions on all those 3d-model sites out there like Cults3d and so on.
  17. Its the BIT test, check the DCS Hornet manual. You might have pressed the BIT button its easy to do so because its just below the menu button for the center MFD.
  18. Well last I heard its scheduled for Q3 this year and not put on ice.
  19. One more tip, I keep a Word-file for my self with all the words I added/recorded/blocked in the Windows speech dictionary and if I added them with capital letter in the beginning and so on. Because I dont think you can backup your changes to the Windows speech dictionary, there was some kind of small software you could download from Microsoft before but that dont work anymore for me. So if I would loose it somehow I think the only way to restore it is to put add it again, if so the Word-file of exactly what I had there before would make that much faster.
  20. You can record your own prononciations in the Windows speech dictionary for words that are hard to get recognized. When doing so you should think through if you should add them with the first letter capitalized, for airbase names for example. You can also add words to a block list to prevent them from beeing picked up. For example "tree" could be good to block to avoid getting mixed up with "three" for your nr 3 wingman. The big problems are non-english airbase names in combination with using english Windows speech recogition. "Novorosyisk" is impossible to get recognized, for the impossible ones you may need to add another alias in Vaicom as substitute. Also, make sure that your microphone records audio with enough volume. I have a Sennheiser headset with a good microphone but had major problems in the beginning because when using the mic port on the motherboard the volume was always to low. Bought a cheap USB sound card for just the microphone and never had any problems since.
  21. Please make the 3D view of statics optional in the mission editor. If you need to go through a big number of statics for what ever reason it takes much longer than it would need to because the 3D views loads for every one of them. Please implement a checkbox "3D-view" for turning it on/off.
  22. @raus Ok I see, will try that. If I may make a wish that would be that you add a tab where the briefing text for the mission is read, that way you can copy text from there and put into the notes if you like to without having to open the mission in DCS. But anyway, great work!
  23. Can confirm, tried this on the Persian Gulf Map, set up an AI Hornet that dropped 4 x 2000 pound LGBs. Perfect hits, bridge is still standing with no scratch. (Burned for a while but went out). Definitely a bug.
