Spitfire Engine seemingly overheating + noob question
muehlema replied to Kaned Dragon's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
I think the biggest problem is not, that I don't understand what you're saying, but while in close combat with the ME109, you rather have the eye on the target and the aiming reticle than on the speed and temp. -
Correct

Ok, wilco

Yesterday I flew on of those nice BoB missions. I see the JU-88 approaching. I get my ass behind one of the JU-88 diving froum out of the sun on their tail, shoot, want to dive behind her and all of a sudden my spit begins to tumble, like I would have collided with something. Is this something related to the airframe or is this related to some invisible piece behind the JU-88 assest? I tried twice, same result. In the end I spin down into the channel.

Happens to me too. So I turned the G Effects off. It is too nasty the way it acts, even in 2.5. Never seen a red out, which on negative G would be logical. Fact is, once screen is black, it does not come back until your dead.

Spitfire Engine seemingly overheating + noob question

I got the Spitfire last week. The Mustang did not seem to be the right fighter against ME and Doras. With the Spitfire it is really more fun. I already was able to nail 9 of them. My primary issue however in dogfight is that I frequently get to the point where the white smoke starts to show up. How can I avoid this in dogfights? -
No issue here - My Oculus works like charm.

I have no issues with DCS 2.5, asides from a few crashes. While P3D and XP11 die face real problems on my rig. Asus Z270E ROG Intel 7700k 4200 Mhz 32 GB Ram GF 1060 6GB Ram Thrustmaster Warthog Saitek Combat Pedals Oculs Rift CV1 Oculus Sensor (2x) Oculus Touch Oculus Core 2 Beta 1TB Samsumg 850 Pro SSD allocated 1 per sim.

Why do you use SteamVR?

If this is the only issue, then you should be happy. In the last two days I spent tons of hours for the sake of getting Prepar3d 4.2 and XP11 VR3 to decent frames While I got my XP11 now at 25 stable, Prepare3D in really is not usable. Low frames and buttons you can hardly switch. DCS 2.5 runs flawlessly. Now additional tools are needed, except the sim by itself. Now CPU tweaking or graphics driver. Even then handling in 3D pit with the mouse to push the switches is perfect implementation. I think the fact that you need to hit a 5 Key once, after startup is a fair trade off for having a stable system.

Awesome !! Thank you so much, this indeed did the trick

Hi I am fairly new to this VR thing. Maybe the question is weird for some of you. Unfortunately I am a bit lost. When I start DCS from within Oculus App - Does not work. Game will pop up and then crash. When I start the DCS from the desktop it works. Now my issue is that from time to time, the DCS main screen is either more on my left or on my right, but certainly not in the center. When I launch my flight, of course my cockpit will be facing into the same misaligned direction. I try to center my view then by hitting home on my Oculus remote and the choose recenter view. Then jumping back to DCS. Nothing is changed, my view remains sheer. In Prepare3D there is a menu under VR called "reset viewpoint to origin" This resolves the same issue when starting outside of the pit. Who can I resolve this ?

Thanks, nice list. Actually Swiss Air Force variant is not listed there. We do have meanwhile AIM-9X in use and the cockpit of our F-18C/D does feature the SuperHornet interior. ;) If this could be modelled, that would be awesome :)

Hi Today I started a few missions. I actually found that the controller positions were not in sync although in my config the sync is checked. Nasty, because L/G dropped out in flight ...

Today another freeze I was able to fly the F5E Intercept mission, then I started the Air-2-Air mission. First time worked well. I started the same again and then it froze

Nothing uncommon VRS F/A-18 you paid 99 USD for the P3D 32-Bit release and now 70 USD for the P3D 64-Bit release. A2A made you pay a discounted price for their P3D upgrades too. Smaller price tag. Jardesign made you pay for the V2 to V3 upgrade adding new features too. It was no free. But instead of new 70 USD you paid 14.99. Thats OK, for a feature update. I think the little upgrade of features would be worth 10 to 15 bucks

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Question, by default the leveler position are Hot, Unrammed. Would I change them to Rammed, Normal after startup?

This is showing a P51 B/C cockpit rather than the D

Yesterday I got my HOTAS Warthog which replaced my X55. Initially I was worried, that I have to use the TARGET software and program every single button, like i had to do for my Falcon BMS 4. I got surprised positively, really amazed. I plugged it in, launched DCS and went into the F5 and A10C config. Pressed the buttons and by magic all keys were already assigned. Specially the A10C was matching the labels perfectly. Hey, if one thing ED has done right - This one is for certain A big thank you

I have no speech mods. I tried the F16 mod, but it does not appear to work. Rest is standard. Integrity check is passed.
