Also, unsure if this is a bug or intended to be this way but
in MAN mode, you need to use the wing sweep controller on the HOTAS, moving the yellow wing sweep lever does not do anything
It appears that the ACM modes do work with guns, but the radar diamond on the hud doesn't move around to show you which ACM mode you are in
is this intended and if so why?
Don't know if this has been reported but
i can raise the wing sweep lever up to emergency position even when the clear cover is lowered, the wing sweep knob just passes up through it like the cover doesn't exist
The binding for switching between pilot and RIO seats is 1 and 2 by default. I rebound it to - and = because i wanted to use 1-8 for the jester wheel.
Now, I can switch to the RIO seat with = but I can't switch back to the pilot seat with -
I have to still use 1 to switch back to the pilot seat, even though it's been rebound to "Command 1" for the jester wheel.
I tried unbinding and rebinding but no luck
All of the DCS modules allow you to bind keys that increase just one throttle, left and right. I can't find anything in the F-14s control section for this. Am i looking in the wrong place or is it not a thing?
It's interesting to me how the drag on the outside wing of a roll, caused by lift, is greater than the drag on the inside wing caused by increased surface area of the spoiler.
Two questions:
1. Why is adverse yaw more pronounced in the Tomcat vs the F-15, 16, etc? Is it the absence of fly-by-wire?
2. Why does roll reversal occur? Is it because at high AoA, adverse yaw is so strong that it causes a full on flatspin?
In a head on BFM scenario, should i maintain corner speed as i am approaching the target before the pass (so i can have the tightest turn rate)? Or should I try to gain speed so I'm not at an energy disadvantage?
