Just because the starter is on for mission / auto start doesn't mean it's correct. Do this in the Tomcat and your ejection seat isn't armed and you oxygen is off.....

Camper, I just did a hop off of Stennis last week with two Scooters and two Tomcats. the nosewheel will be WELL forward of the shuttle for cat launches. I don't recall what the button press is for this, but you can bring up a script window that shows you how far you need to taxi in meters, and also whether you're left / right of the shuttle. If anyone can recall what the button combo is for the info feel free to weigh in. I only used it that one time, but it works beautifully. My fav part is if you accidentally taxi past the shuttle you can relax the throttle and the jet will back up :-) ~Rob

If you use your brakes then wheel chocks it stays put just fine. If the jet is running then a little bit of thrust will keep you from rolling backwards.

Dumb question maybe, but were the F-14 guys allowed to have live RIOs?

The problem with something like that is that almost no one's flight gear supports flying a helicopter that you have to use the throttle on as part of the balancing act.

I can drop bombs from center pylon in 1.03. Just ran down a convoy using high drags the other night. Not sure why it is happening for others.

A/C means aircraft in this thread, in a multicrew aircraft it would mean Aircraft Commander.

Your bullet logic is...well, illogical. Missiles fired from a plane going faster go faster because they are propelled. Bullets fire from a plane going faster hit higher resistance and slow immediately, so neither muzzle velocity nor terminal bullet speed change because friction and gravity are always slowing a bullet down. 6x.50's should be able to tear up light armor vehicles and soft targets like trucks. In real life a .50 passing close to a human is enough to disable if not outright kill a human. I think people get wound up on effectiveness of the .50 though; while it is a high velocity, high energy round it's still a small caliber bullet. It has no mass really, so for it to be effective you have to put a shitload of rounds in target AND hit your target at convergence. If you aren't massing your bullets you aren't getting your all out of a set of .50's. That was the magic of that weapons system, when you hit on convergence you have the energy and the bullet mass to do real work. I'm sure a lot of you have time behind the M2 like I do. It's an impressive weapon in many regards!!
