  1. I posted somewhere else, but the AI mini gunners work until you rearm, then you might as well go M60's. That's where it is now as far as I know. ~Rob
  2. I forgot to mention that flying a slick around the AO sure was fun lol....you get where you wanted to go a few minutes sooner since on the Caucasus map you have some wiggle room with your EGT, I was going everywhere with a full tank of gas at 110-115kts!! My friend just texted me and said gunners are fixed, but I didn't see it in change notes anywhere. Is this confirmed?? ~Rob Oh, and .......Strut! Strut! Strut! Strut!
  3. How heavy are they? I got to sit in a Corsair as a kid and my Dad was showing me how to work the controls. Well, the ones I could reach lol....so not the pedals. They were heavy for me, but I was also in pretty young.
  4. Maybe you fly it better now that you've spent time in it? I have to try my ass off to get a Huey to VRS after flying it for over 3 years, when I first started not so much lol......
  5. It was brought to my attention by a personal friend of mine that the way I have been lashing out at ED is very negative, less than constructive, and in general not how I should go about things. In that light I am asking for ED to excuse me for my behavior, and I would like to take the time to pump up the Huey a little....I have said a lot of negative things recently, but I have failed to also make just as important that I absolutely LOVE the Huey. A little about me, warbird pilot from go, start with IL2 back before it was 1946, before Pacific Fighters was a thing, etc....The Huey has allowed me to get into DCS with my tiny warbird brain, and be combat effective. I have tried A-10, Hornet, KA-50, etc.....too much going on for me. I like my simple stuff. Huey is simple, yet effective. I started on DCS back in late 2015, I have mainly flown the Huey because of how much I enjoy my niche role int he unit I am part of as the CSAR guy, flying a 60 year old aircraft and still being effective. Recently my main complaint has been about the AI door gunners, lamenting about how it was crippling me as a Huey driver. Well, not so much.....tonight I flew a Huey all evening in a modern battlefield setting with no gunners, no IR gear, nothing. You know what? I made it. In our unit we use the CTLD script; I was able to rescue 2 downed pilots, stand up a FOB, deploy SAM units...all without stuff I had thought I needed. That doesn't mean I am less unhappy about our current gunner situation, but I think I proved that it's still survivable. I hope ED, and the forum members here, can excuse my less than admirable conduct. I will strive, in the future, to use the proper channels to bring forward my grievances with a module. Thank you for the Huey, and here's to an update at some point. I wait patiently!! Please delete the following thread, if possible: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=237639 Here are some pics from tonight of me flying a true slick over a modern battlefield. ED & BST, again, thank you, and please accept my apology for my conduct earlier today. Escorting a KA-50 home.......
  6. Plus wouldn't the Tomcat D eventually have gotten the X if it had stuck around??? From talking to different pilots here a lot of guys use the Aim-7 over the 120 simply because it kills less friendlies.....
  7. "The mission was to try and replicate some of the flying conditions faced by helicopter pilots during the Vietnam War. The US Army pilot training program of that time included some instrument training, however this was very minimal and many a pilot didn't feel comfortable in IFR and so would try and avoid those conditions." I Fly Roads lol......that was pretty much the mantra if I remember right from all of my reading. Some instrument time, almost ZERO night flying time in training. Yet at times these young men found themselves flying in the fog or at night. Crazy!! Ebabil, did you not have a radar alt from taking fire, or was it disabled on miz start? ~Rob
  8. Well, seems fairly obvious what's going on at this point, not at all interested in updating/fixing Huey. Kinda off putting, Huey has been my main mount now for coming up on four years. I fly with a unit and pretty much the only thing I fly is Huey, so while I haven't been here the entire time I've been around enough to see that the Huey must be the way of the past? That's despicable. Everyone has bashed VEAO for how they "took the money and ran", and honestly ED I'm thinking you guys aren't much better regarding the Huey. Let's take a look..... - The lights issues. Well, I mean, I personally don't recall them being that bad when I first flew, but maybe I was just new and still blown away by how awesome everything seemed. It's sure noticeable now that I'm experienced with the module, and man is it annoying! - The lighting update BROKE the skins, fine, they were user made, we got that, but at least give us the tools to fix it, other than finding files to delete ourselves. - The AI gunners are broken. Uh, YOU broke them!! As I stated in another thread I'm all for "we made it, the rest of you need to keep up with mods and skins", but YOU did this!!! Now I am noticing active disengagement on the topic, also despicable. - A thread I started on the community forum was moved, read: buried, way down in the bowels of the Huey sub forums. - Another recently started thread regarding how the Huey gets no attention was just up and closed. Are you guys actively trying to shush us now???? Give it what it deserves, please? I don't really care when, eventually used to be good enough for me, but since the BST post from 2017 about multiplayer news coming soon never bore fruit I'm a little gunshy as a consumer on believing so let's not go that route again.... How about some news, or a plan, maybe an update that fixes something on Huey instead of breaking more things on it? Stop trying to silence us or hide our threads so that YOU don't have to see them. Try maybe doing the right thing. I'm all for Hornets, Hinds, Vipers, uh, trainers lol, but heck you could fix the Huey along the way? :helpsmilie: ~Rob
  9. Dude.....an AI KA-3B Whale would make my DCS experience with the F-8 just tops......flyable would make me lose my mind.
  10. Holy F*cking Sh*t I can't WAIT!!!!!.....AAAAARRRRGGGH>>>>> Ok, I'll wait. Thank you so much for the update!!!! ~Rob
  11. Holy Sh*T!!! Is that a cockpit you are building?????
  12. I had to add curves, but yes, because the center spring is so light I absolutely love my CH Fighterstick for Gazelle and Huey. It makes me feel good when I see people with Warthogs or ProFlight Puma controls that can't fly Huey as well as me, even though my controls are 8 years old, and the tech is even older than that!!! For mine I run 22 curve and 80% on the Y axis. Seems to fly fairly nice for me. I am gonna try the suggested 40-50% Y axis/no curve and see how it flies. ~Rob
  13. Magic....... :sorcerer:
  14. Might hit up Jack or see if CVW-8 can help you. They seem to be able to get them to work. Both can be found in the Tomcat skins subforums
  15. How can you flame this guy for being snarky when the post right after his was someone making fun of his lack of knowledge? And patronizing is spelled with a "Z", while we're throwing daggers around....... ~Rob
  16. I thought by the verbiage used in the author's opening post that we were talking about real life. I think it would have. Two sets of eyes better than one, and back then you needed a guy back then to do all of the detection work and getting weapons onto targets. I think once the availability of tech to support one man ops, like say the later versions of Viper that does this mission as a single seater, it would have gone the way of Weasel IV/V.
  17. Man, it'd be VERY cool if someone could work this into Crybob's script as the ground marker for a downed pilot to use instead of a static grunt.
  18. Don't forget how if you rearm it during a multiplayer mission it breaks the AI minigunners..... ~Rob
  19. 355th_Gunfighter, USA, UH-1 Huey, close to the front where I'm needed most!! I am also trying to get my friend to join, but please don't reserve a slot yet for him.
  20. Moderators, please delete, I'm an idiot......
  21. I mean, I have one but that's for plinkin'...I was talking about my 1911. Well, all three of them really :music_whistling:
  22. Off topic, but I also recently saw a Douglas F4D Skyray as an EDF model too!! Some folks really like the old iron, for me it's Phantom, Skyraider, and Corsair...both I & II lol.......
  23. Tight, thanks Skate!!! ~Rob
  24. No problem!!! Glad you got it working! ~Rob
