Hi!! As above, I am looking to get input from the rest of the Gazelle flyers on how they set up their HOTAS controls. Specifically if anyone is using customs curves on a CH Fighterstick USB HOTAS that would be the most helpful since that's what I am running, but any and all input would sure help! I've had Gazelle for a while now and did a bit of dampening, but after stepping away form it for the last year or so I want to get back into it. I took it for a toot the other day and man I was all over the place! I know part of that is my lack of recency in the airframe, but I thought it would also be beneficial for me to ask around and see what others are doing. I recall there was a thread on this before, and many of you weren't using any curves or dampening......that's crazy to me since I don't have the option for a stick extension like you Warthog/VKB/Mongoose guys. For my pedals I stopped using the CH "Nutcrackers" and am using a set of VKB MKIV's for helicoptering. They are working miracles for my Huey driving, really, and am hoping I can get them dialed in for Gazelle. anyone using them for this? If so what are you using, if any, for curves? Thanks in advance! ~Rob

Hey, and that would go right along with our "not quite Vietnam era" Mig's, the F-5, and with the grace of ED the F-4!

Not saying I'm a Corsair expert, but I've been into that plane my whole life....my Dad flew -4's in Korea as a young Marine aviator :-) I posted the vid I linked because it's one of the best Hog start ups on The Tube.

It's like anyhting else - garbage in, garbage out. If you practice you'll get it. If you don't then you'll always never be able to fly it smooth. Same as the Sabre, or playing guitar, or running a boat, etc......

The approach for a trap vs rough field landing are most likely different. Also, doesn't matter if the hook was strong enough, the landing gear most certainly wasn't designed for the vertical speed of a carrier landing. Odd are you'd send the mains through the tops of the wings!

Wolf, what side of the house does this go into? I have JSGME for both my root and Saved Games locations. ~Rob

Even if you were to limit pilot slots with a 4 or 5 to 1 advantage for the Allies you won't get close to any realism. By the end of WWII the German pilots were just kids with very few hours. I saw it mentioned a few times already, but keep in mind that it was more or less a meat grinder for the Luftwaffe, and that coming across even just an average pilot was the exception, not the norm.

[REPORTED] fix for nav and beacon lights shining inside cockpit
Robert31178 replied to bkthunder's topic in Bugs and Problems
Not sure if I added my +1 yet, but let's go ED, this has been an issue for too long, and the thing that makes me red about it is that you guys broke it at some point...it didn't used to be like this early on, not that I noticed anyways. -
"Normally I'm blabby, but I sat on this one...." Kira, while I agree that the book to movie interpretation was a little liberal, and that also it might not be the cinematic great that Top Gun is, Defoe's portrayal of Tiger Cole was incredible, and he really made a nice pair to Johnson's Grafton. I think his voice would go nicely as an AI for the Intruder!!

Maybe someone can make a nice T-6 Texan faked up to look like a Zero for us too!!

Wasp...hilarious my man!

You have to have either the battery on or ground power hooked up and turned on for anything in the Huey to work. The dome light / interior cockpit light will come right on when you turn ground power on, if you do it without 1) turn your battery on, 2) turn the switch to either white or green.

Oh, and for the shiny.....ugh, right? Hate it too. Remove the following from the game's root folder: Bazar/World/Shapes and remove the file "ab-212.lods.json" Before: [/img] Again.... Strut! Strut! Strut! Strut!

A member here named Strut is trying to set me straight, this is what he has passed long so far - I was trying to solve the same problem you are. Strut - "Rob, good try, but your only problem was you named the textures with file extensions for .dds .bmp and .tga. The first two will cause the textures not to show, you can use the .tga but you dont have to. 'SO DONT BLOODY USE FILES EXTENSIONS' hahah !" That's what he said in a PM to me, and he changed the ones for my unit. They are 99% fixed. I've asked for help on the last piece of the puzzle, the results so far are that the skin went from looking similar to yours to looking like this: Getting close!! I told Strut I would chant his name if he helped me get my beloved Huey straightened out. Now I know he said not to, but... Strut! Strut! Strut! Strut! ~Rob

F-4, any variant, or A-7E, in the same quality and fidelity as the Community A-4?

Thank you both for the help!! I'll pass this along and hopefully we can start seeing some stuff!! ~Rob

Hi!! A friend and I were talking about how our biggest problem when getting a BRA call is that it is difficult to get the antennae elevation in the right spot to see the bandit being called out to us. this is more when the bandit is inside of 15nm or so, outside of that we seem to do alright. This happens to us flying both Eagle and Bug.....I would LOVE to have this solved before the Tomcat drops. I was wondering if there is a tried and true method of getting your gear oriented correctly, like a math formula or since you would have at least one constant. Is there anything like this around? ~Rob

Did you solve the silvering problem??
