  3. Here's the quick, easy way - Prior to takeoff at your home airfield, look on the chart and get the field elevation. Now turn the altimeter setting as required until you see that altitude shown on the altimeter. Now go fly and don't worry about it for the rest of the flight. What you've done is set the altimeter to show you your altitude above sea level. If you're not using dynamic weather, then the altimeter setting will be the same everywhere in the virtual world below transition altitude.

  7. I'm definitely interested in some Ka-50 updates, but AFAIK the lighting issue is a global problem related to Deferred Shading, not the Hokum specifically.
  8. Just keep your hands moving constantly. It takes a lot of practice to really nail down the subtle throttle and stick inputs. Even after years of doing it I am never truly "stable." I can usually refuel in a single connection, but I'm moving slightly up/down, left/right, and forward/back, and my hands are constantly making adjustments accordingly. I also recommend checking your curves and maybe adjusting them. I use the curves from Chucks A-10C guide with a TM Warthog, I would start with that to help reduce the sensitivity near the center.

  11. +1. The Huey made me a believer in the idea of civilian aircraft and missions in DCS.
  12. +1 for the EA-6B. It's ugliness is on par with the A-10 so it seems like a no-brainer to have it in DCS. Joking aside, it would be great, as mentioned, to have a true SEAD platform. It would compliment the other mission sets and aircraft really well.
  13. I just checked as well, the flood light isn't that bright after all. I guess I just forgot what it was supposed to look like and learned to work with it so didn't see anything wrong. As for the engine instrument lights, they work fine on my end.
  14. I'm using deferred shading and have light that I find to be reasonable. Maybe it's just because I haven't flown the Hog in 1.5 to compare.
  15. No issues on my end when clicking mission. If you have any mods, one of those is the most likely culprit. If you don't have any mods, you should run a repair. As for the floodlight, was your canopy open? The floodlight is mounted on the canopy rail so you'll get almost no light if it's open but it lights the cockpit up just fine once the canopy is closed.

  18. Yes Liger, that code is correct for an airplane that always flies from McCarran to Zone East. Just don't forget to spawn them :D If you want it to fly to any of the 4 zones it would look like this: yak=RAT:New("RAT_YAK") yak:SetDeparture("McCarran International Airport") yak:DestinationZone() yak:SetDestination({"RAT Zone East", "RAT Zone West", "RAT Zone North", "RAT Zone South"}) yak:Spawn(3) Cheers!
  19. Download and try the "We Were Soldiers Once" mission from user files. It has transportable troops and I've flown it many times, to include as recently as yesterday, without any issues. Troops embark and disembark just fine. Perhaps you could use it as template, or a reference when designing your own missions with troops.
  20. Hey Frank, just FYI I've had no issues setting a single trigger to load both files. Is there something I should be wary of when doing it that way? I did it on accident and didn't realize it but all AI spawned as expected.
  21. That must be a 1.5.7 thing. I haven't noticed any issues on 2.1, although I admittedly don't fly ILS approaches all that often.
  22. Are you sure that you selected ILS on the NMSP panel?
