I had a similar problem. I had to use the "Safely remove hardware" gadget on the tasbar AND unplug it and replug it in. It was strange, the track clip pro lights were on just like yours but the camera was completely dead no status light no nothing.

I should have been more clear in my original post. This happens when Im programing a profile in the saitek software. The game runs flawlessly for me and doesn't crash at all. Its the stick software that doesnt work properly under Windows 7 x64 :/ I cleared all the assignments under the X52 in the game except the axis assignments to prevent any conflicts like that.

I saw something about that CH stick quite a while ago...seems to me it was a A-10C stick for military simulators....everyone went nuts because it had a USB connector on it but the stick setup was thousands of dollars. I recently upgraded to Windows 7x64 now my X52pro is causing 'Bad Pool Caller' BSOD's if I spend any amount of time in the profiler software. I'm 90% sure it's a driver/software issue due to the amount of threads on BSOD's with Win7 x64 and another user is having the exact problem as I am. I really hope they can get this sorted soon as LOFC2 really needs the profiler software and I dont feel like setting up my controls 5 times in the game - 80% of the commands are the same....and I spent literally weeks getting everything set up just right for DCS and LOFC2 What a bummer I like this stick still and didn't really want to put out another $300.00 for something comparable but Saitek is really slow at addressing problems like this, especially for an older product.

Instead of messing with config files you could just leave vsync on in your video driver so framrate is caped at 60(or whatever refresh rate you run at)

I hope this stick isn't as hard on my arm as my old F-22 was....that thing gave me carpal tunnel and I had to wear an arm band for a while lol....

Most modern laptops have replaceable graphic cards... Did you set your power plan to "high performance" in Windows 7? This can have a huge impact on performance with a laptop.

The server browser takes a long time to update , it doesnt seem to save any data from one game to the next so its got to update every time unlike the old battlefields....terrible idea. Anyways if your not having fun you need to hook up with some people and squad up. If you don't you will hate this game in a hurry...sorry you don't like it, just give it a bit more time. You are more than welcome to play with the guys I play wit and I or maybee some of the simheads here would be interested in making a DCS clan? The other thing is you really need some external kind of voice comms like teamspeak, ventrilo, skype etc to make it all come together,

I have been a Battlefield player since 1942 some things I like and hate so far on this beta: Hate ----- 1) No commander- but certain classes have been given unlocks that are similar to what the old commander could do. 2) Not sure if it only applies to what were being shown in this limited beta but the map is WAY smaller than say a BF2 map you are basically funneled through the map. I hate this style of gameplay reminds too much of Modern warfare run n gun garbage. 3) Recon is too overpowered: I'm already seeing people macro tossing 4 or 5 C4's onto the box and explode it in a split second. It was somewhat fair in 2142 with only 1 way in but with a destructable environement more times then not the box will just be sitting in the open for a suicide bomber. 4) Teamkilling assets (specifically the boxes): Yeah you should have to check fire and not destroy the building you need to protect but if someone wants to ruin everyones game all they do is make a recon and blow up your own assets. It's an instant loss and makes it too easy for someone to pad their friends stats. 5) The awards and ribbons seem to be dummied down 6) Sometimes feels like the game has regressed, feels x-boxy. 7) Where the heck is the prone position....another thing that makes it feel like xbox....alll the had to do was put a timer or slow the animation to keep people from dolphin diving....but eliminating it completely really angers me... Like ----- 1) Destructable environment: Guy hiding behind a walll, blow up the wall 2) Decent Physics 3) Good overall graphics 4) Good overall gameplay. It's still a Battlefield game.....well mostly. 5) Vehicles are fun- I just hope there are more on different modes/maps like the older games

I remember reading about some mod to allow you to use the 3dfx accelerated DOS version with newer generation of nvidia hardware. SEF2k I was disapointed with there was no 3d acceleration for the windows version :/

Make sure you don't have functions assigned to the buttons within the game and the Saitek software. Just a guess.

Which version? the DOS / 2.0 /Super? It was and still is my favorite sim of all time....spent WAAAY too much time playing that online with Kali(if anyone remembers that)

This has been brought up before I remember it but couldn't find the post. Anyways he's right you must do this, even if you already had it set to "use advanced settings" it will not work until you toggle it to a different setting then hit apply then back to advanced and hit apply again. It's a glitch with the driver. If I remember right you must also do this every time you update or replace your nvidia drivers

This mod is awesome I've been playing it a few days now very addictive.

You are probably overclocking your memory too much PC2-6400 is 800 mhz...thats like a 36% overclock. at 1092 mhz your overclock is higher than a PC2-8500 speed(1066)mhz. I'd back it down to 1066 if you can your timings look the same as for the PC2-8500. I used to have some Corsair Dominator that wouldnt overclock even 100mhz higher. Overclocking memory does nothing for you anyways because you have to loosen up the timings so even though its clocked faster it has higher latency. Even with the most expensive memory theres litterally zero difference in FPS in games compared to lower speed memory with faster timings.

You pay for what you get...don't buy an SSD just to get an SSD. If you buy the cheapest, well its not going to be much faster than a standard hard disk. Bottom line, go on NewEgg..read reviews with a grain of salt and compare transfer rates/price. You don't have to get the fastest intel drive for $700.00 to notice a difference either. I bought a Corsair P128 for about $285.00 6 months ago (prices have gone up) It is blazingly fast loads Windows in seconds and load times for DCS were cut in half. The single Corsair P128 was more than twice as fast as my previous setup of 2 - 10K RPM WD Raptors in RAID. It is only a 128 gig hard drive but I dont have tons of games installed so it really doesnt matter. I store all my music, photos and downloads on a secondary SATA drive where performance doesn't really matter because its just storage. Overall I'm extremely happy with the purchase. It is an upgrade where you can actually "feel" the difference. Never looked back or regretted my purchase. The only downside is that any time I use someone else's PC its agonizingly slow.

Wasp have you seen this mod yet? http://www.mechlivinglegends.net/ They got the rights from MS to use all the Mechwarrior IP (because it's a free Crysis mod and they aren't charging anything for it) more of a game than a sim though but we really have yet to see any true MW sim. Imagine a MW game with the fidelity of DCS:BS....wait...I guess you did and it's in your pole barn hehe

I just recieved an email that Saitek is releasing some kind of FFB this winter. The background picture is definately a flight stick... My guess it that it is indeed a HOTAS FFB stick as they took a poll way back in December of 08 on interest of this product. "Mac" gets to fly in the A10C simulator...it's 360 degree awesomeness. No need for trackIR because your in a bubble. They talk alot about the capabilities like satellite guided JDAM's and the new datalink. Hopefully this gets into ED's version. Too bad you can't se the full show unless you watch it on the military channel :/ People here would love it.

Did you try to roll back with system restore? Just curious that this problem would occur out of the blue. My guess is that windows update updated something and is causing problems.
